As for his throwing aim... ]
Hm. It has been a long while since I've missed my target. Do you mean to test my aim?
[ This is perhaps a game he's willing to indulge in. There's never any harm getting more aiming practice. ]

[ With that, she heads to the nearest flat rock to set the cans on. Since she has twelve total, she sets out six in a straight line on the rock and puts the others nearby on the ground. Afterward is the hunt for twelve rocks of roughly the same size as one another. Some are bigger, some are shorter, but they'll work. She pockets her six and walks back over with his in both her hands. ]
I made the logos facing this way. Goal is to dent the can so the logo goes in. [ A pause. ] Or, if you can manage, get a hole in it.

In the interest of acquainting ourselves with each other, I propose an additional rule: for each can we successfully strike in the manner you have described, we may choose either to dispense one fact about ourselves, or ask the other a question. For either option, neither of us are obligated to provide the truth.
[ He looks at her with a softer gaze—one meant to look friendly, to make it clear that he isn't looking to pry, merely familiarize himself with her, and vice versa. It's ironic that he's suggesting this, given that he had been unwilling to participate in Truth or Dare, but with his rules, there's no pressure to divulge anything if she so wishes. ]
Are you agreeable to this addendum?

Works for me. [ But, to head off any potential issues at the pass... ] Oh, I'll be using my hands and my "arms."
[ As for what she means by "arms," a few rocks near her lift themselves up off the ground to deposit themselves in her open palm. What follows sounds like an accusation, but it's not serious if the upward tilt of her mouth is any indication. ]
Just so you don't go calling me a cheat.
no subject
Then I suppose you'll have no objection if I use my abilities as well.
[ And with barely a glance at the cans, he winds his arm back and tosses the chalk with deadly accuracy. It cuts through the air and slams into one of the cans in the middle of the line, piercing clean through the logo and knocking it off the rock without disturbing any other can. ]
I quite often train my aim on errant students who cause disruptions or decide to nap through my lectures. Regular chalk, of course.
[ That was his fact for the can he scored a hit on. ]
no subject
[ Would she? Maybe. Probably. Hard to say for sure. What's certain though is that she watches him nail the can with a piece of chalk with clear and open awe. And here she thought humans couldn't do something like that! ]
Hopefully not that hard, or you won't have many students left.
[ She chuckles softly, briefly, and looks through the rocks in her hand to select a small one. Something that'll fly fast but won't destroy the can. Not yet anyway.
She takes a moment to eye one of the cans as a target. After picking one, she hurls the rock as hard as she can. It dents the can and knocks it over. Not enough to pierce through it just yet.
Lucy's quiet a moment, thinking. A fact about herself...what can she say that wouldn't immediately raise a red flag? ]
Where I'm from...it wasn't too different from the Tokyo where we're staying. It was further southwest, coastal. But the kaiju didn't exist there.

[ But it's going to hurt enough that you'll think twice about loafing off in his class again.
He observes her throw, lips curling up when she strikes her target clean. Not enough force to pierce it, but he thinks she must be holding back still.
As for her fact... ]
Interesting. It seems quite a number of people invited here by LILITH call some variation of this country their home. While I hesitate to believe their explanation, it is becoming more likely that they spoke the truth.
[ Alternate universes... his eyes gleam as he considers how such technology might be possible and how he might convince LILITH to give him access to documents pertaining to it. ]

What kind of place do you come from?
[ Since he clearly doesn't come from any world she's familiar with. ]

It hits the can, but not the logo, which was the defined target of their little competition. Except that had been Ratio's intention all along. The can is flung into the air by the force of the stone impacting it. The second stone hits another can—it too is thrown into the air, its trajectory perfectly in line with the first can.
They collide and ricochet off each other—and it is at this point that Ratio manifests his chalk and strikes both with pinpoint accuracy. A hole through each can's logo. Full marks for him, he thinks with amusement. ]
My home world is a planet named Veritas Prime, located in the Ovid Star System, adjacent to the Laurel Wreath Galaxy. Both I and the planet were named after an outstanding individual in its history. The planet itself is verdant and plentiful—efforts led by the individual in question. Now it is host to one of the most distinguished universities in all of the cosmos.
[
when I get fucking jossed to hell in a few patches just pretend he said the real info ok okHe says it nonchalantly, as if he hadn't just pulled off a complicated trick shot mere moments before. ]You expressed a desire to take my exams in a different format. What is your literacy level?
no subject
She watches his throw, but before she can line up for her own shot, the question takes her aback. As expected of lost focus, the rock veers way off course and hits the dirt far too early and to the side. Damn. ]
I stopped going to school when I was around ten. [ Though she wonders if that place could really ever have counted as a proper school. ] Wasn't really getting the best education beforehand, I don't think.
no subject
Oh, there goes her aim. If she had waited, it wouldn't have been her loss. He does not comment on the missed shot and instead places a hand to his chin as he thinks. ]
I see. Then you may require a different set of diagnostic exams than the one I prepared for those at the secondary school level.
[ It's quite a range of students he's managed to gather. Creating different lesson plans for each of them will be time consuming, but nothing he can't handle. ]
no subject
[ She's more muted in tone as she glances away. Taking the diagnostic is really more of a curiosity for her than anything, but she still feels weird about potentially making him waste his time. ]
no subject
Not at all. I have another student who may be at a similar level to you, if not lower. It will be a simple matter to modify her test to suit your level of knowledge.
