[ oh boy. well, hunter is here, watching this all play out. it's familiar. somewhat. in the moment, he has to hold one his hands because the other is shaking. but even if this is a memory -- or a dream -- or whatever it is, he can't show weakness. he takes a steadying breath and straightens up, looking over at kali - gebura? and trying to steel his gaze. banish the thoughts of belos and focus on the moment. ]

[ he stares her in the eyes as if trying to convey he's here to help, slowly and deliberately walks over -- his intent is to just untie her without being noticed ]

[ Kali stares at him as though she absolutely understands he isn't supposed to be here, but says nothing at the moment. Before Hunter can do much of anyone else beyond Staring With Intent, one of the other people turns towards him.

"And what do you think you're doing?" ]

[newphew]

[ hunter freezes in place, turns around. he weighs his options. he could try to pretend. he could try to fight them -- he does feel a defensive anger welling up in his chest, along with all the panic from remembering his own circumstances. he tries to size them as up as subtly as he can, but decides, in the end, to play along ]

Don't you want to know what she's hiding? I was going to question her, obviously.

[ he sounds extremely confident in himself, even if he doesn't feel it at all. sit tight, kabura!! ]

[ Wow, look at the lil guy bluff! The apartment resident staring at him apparently isn't too thrown off by there being a teenager there (maybe because Kali herself isn't that far out of teenhood at this point in time), so after a short pause he shrugs and tells Hunter to just be quick about it.

Kali remains quiet, up until Hunter is close enough, before she shakes her head. ]

Don't bother. I'm fine.
