WHO: Any Outsider is more than welcome!
WHAT: Dating shows... I was bullied.
WHERE: Between Okinawa & Neo Tokyo.
WHEN: Throughout the remainder of July (listen, it's a production)!
WARNINGS: Partial nudity, alcohol, potential suggestive topics, and will update 'em as I see 'em!

Throughout the city of Neo Tokyo and even Okinawa, there will be advertisements posted by the hundreds (and spam mail to your oculars by an equal number), desiring candidates for a show. While the aftermath of vegas and other bleak instances might have led way for people practicing some semblance of moderation— opposite to that, the people also need their entertainment, don't they?

Fortunately, there will be an influx of dating shows looking for people to appear. They are offering a fairly decent amount of money and are even offering luxury experiences for free for participants. In this economy and food shortage??? Okay, the food may be lacking, but they do make up for it in various activities they have planned, where people can kick back, relax, and romance?

While there will be any number of shows looking for interested parties, these are the main shows/premises:

SPEED DATING

As the label suggests. People will be expected to sit down and switch through several partners. In their hands will be a card labeling who they encounter and a place to leave a check mark. They will also be given a list of questions that can be answered.

PARTNER SWAP

People can be on a show and swap partners. This doesn't necessarily need to be romantic, either. Have a friend you want to show up with, cool. The only rules are that the pairs who enter together cannot stay together during the duration of the show.

SINGLES INFERNO

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be trapped on a deserted island with other hot singles? Well, now you no longer have to wonder. They will need to cook and fend for themselves here with minimal activities or distraction— but, isn't that the point? All you need to focus on is each other! (* They will be ferried to an outer island by Okinawa). While on the island, which they label as inferno, it's also a rule that one cannot speak about their age, occupation, or any such personal details. All of this will be reserved for "paradise." To go to paradise, two individuals will need to pick one another, and if they do — they are able to go on to completed various luxury experiences together.

For those who would rather find paradise in inferno together, you can presume there are tents that act as shared dormitory quarters where contestants will stay together.

DATE ME

People are free to use this for just general dates. Maybe, you just want to finesse the system and enjoy a fun all-expense-paid for date in which you get to eat like relative kings and enjoy various experiences. Feel free to use anything in the setting to your desire.

SKINSHIP STARTER

... a show where you get paid the more skinship you do. Don't do anything you wouldn't do in a Wendy's though. (That's not how the saying actually goes).

Every good dating show needs those who simply sit and commentate, right?

* It can be assumed any of this is just open to general CR you want to spend time with, too. This is just supposed to be a silly log for chances for characters to get to know one another! Characters are more than welcome to assume they stumble upon this by accident, think it's just a basic job and can't leave, film or unfilmed (minus the commentary prompt), and whatever else! Feel free to tag freely, threadjack, etc!

[ Tezcatlipoca has definitely seen a few people at this point, and therefore, he's a little surprised that someone actually asks a question that seems related. ]

Huh? I was thinkin' it was a joke show...

[ No, it's just that no one is normal. He sure was vibing with that, though. An actual question about dating makes him make a thoughtful noise, and he sits back in his chair a little more. ]

Hm. A backbone, I guess is the easiest way to put it.

[ yuwon can only give a gradual slow nod at that. he supposed in some ways it was a joke. but, not in a "haha funny" way. which is probably clear in all the apathy of his features.

though, he does seem to genuinely pause at that answer. ] You must know a lot of spineless people if that's your answer.

[ with that kind of response, he could only assume. but he wonders if this backbone was related to actual strength, or if it was more of a matter of convictions and mental fortitude? ]

Nah, think of it more as high standards.

[ He laughs, since it’s a fair read, though. He likes people with a backbone because, well, it takes a pretty rigid one to stand up to him in particular. He wouldn’t call the people that don’t manage spineless, exactly, since hanging out with a god is a pretty big deal, but. He’s being coy about that little detail for now. ]

I deal with lots of people where I’m from, so I just dig the ones that are kinda relentless in pursuing whatever it is they want. Big dreams. That kinda thing. Takes a lot of guts, so it's pretty admirable.

[ high standards. was having a backbone considered high standards? there's definitely the look of him questioning it momentarily, but just as easily as the confusion shows on his features, it seems to dissipate by his next explanation.

big dreams and the tenacity to follow through. ] I could see that. Depending on their objectives, it could be a big deal. [ a pause. ] What about you? Do you have anything like that? [ a want or desire, that is. ]

Yep, and it’s usually the “big deal” kinda ones that come my way. So, that kinda backbone is the resolve to pursue it even knowin’ that it won’t be easy.

[ And indeed, there’s a little admiration in his voice as he says it, though it’s still cool and muted overall. Turning the question back to him makes he laugh a little, since honestly, the answer is no, he doesn’t. That’s just not the sort of ambition that gods are meant to have. But he can at least dance around an answer. ]

Eh, kinda. I’m more a guy for supportin’ other peoples’ ambitions, but I take it seriously. Back home, I was workin’ with a guy that had some pretty lofty goals, so I was takin’ up the simpler work, by comparison. Helpin’ get a city up and running was the big one.

[ the way he says it, makes yuwon think of something that he can't quite put his finger on. it's clear from the man's words, if he were to take them at face value, that he wasn't your average guy. he seemed accustomed to these circumstances of extreme, albeit yuwon has no actual insight into it.

regardless, he tended to avoid pointless speculation. ]

You would do all of that for someone else's dream? [ that seemed a bit too generous no matter if this guy was simply just a saint. ] Did you get anything out of it? [ listen, yuwon has a hard time thinking anyone would do anything without some manner of payment.

that kind of good will didn't come easy, even for gods in the tower. ]

Sure.

[ Both to how willing he is to support others and to if he gets anything out of it. Though the latter is definitely much milder compared to his dedication. ]

Got some sweet guns, for one. Guess that was more incidental, but still counts in my book. I’m a big fan of ‘em, but they ain’t easy to come by, so it was a nice treat.

[ His little grin makes it seem like he might be bullshitting, but no… This is completely sincere. ]

Second one’s more nebulous, so you’d have to take my word for it, mostly. But helpin’ out means I get to see somethin’ novel. One of a kind event. That’s the kinda thing I’m willin’ to do a lot for. That might just be a hobby too, though.

I don't know if there's a gun sweet enough.

[ for him, personally, that is. obviously, it's different for this man. which has yuwon all the more curious as to what kind of individual he was. no, maybe it would be more accurate to state, that he had been interested from the moment the man had opened his mouth. ]

A one of a kind event... [ he repeats. he wondered if it was like seeing the flint and spark for a war, or if it was like seeing a fragment of history being changed before your eyes. if it was anything like that then... ] I think I might understand. [ even if it might merely be projection at this point. ]

Do you think you'll find any of that here?

Ha, is it better if it was a lot of ‘em? Didn’t keep them all, since they were on a trial basis before I figured out which ones I wanted, but still. Got to get my hands on just about every size and calibre you can imagine, which was a shitton of fun!

[ It’s a very earnest, bright response, so clearly, he’s not kidding. He really had enjoyed it, and honestly, if he had his way? He would have screwed Koyanskaya out of every single one. Too bad that things just couldn’t get set up that easily… But his mood cools again quickly, since he won’t nerd out about guns unless explicitly asked.

Besides. Just by how this guy’s expression shifts, he thinks he gets what Tezcatlipoca means, if only partially. He nods, satisfied, when he says as much. ]

[ Though he assumes (incorrectly), that Yuwon is imagining something else. The sparks of war are precisely the sort of thing that a god of conflict is made to seed and cherish in equal parts. Even so, he hums thoughtfully to the question. ]

—Well, I hope so. Would feel like a waste otherwise. [ He won’t refer to it directly in this context, but he just assumes that he’s a particularly difficult individual for LILITH to have gotten. ] Can’t call kaiju a one of a kind, considerin’, but their presence alone makes me feel like chances are good.

It is. [ better. if you had to have weapons, it would probably be better to have them in bulk. while yuwon was the type who preferred quality over quantity, he comprehends weapons like those that exist in the tower likely weren't all too common to hand out so freely. besides, for all yuwon knows, this man could have been...

a hobbyist. ]

Depending on the type of monsters you're accustomed to, it probably won't be a life changing experience. But, it is... different. [ if just in terms of their own abilities, and how despite his own stats, not all mental side effects can be evaded, nor can he exert his power exactly in the way he'd like. ]

What's your name? [ it's not often yuwon asked for other people's names, but he instinctively feels like he wants to know more. it's difficult not to have some vague semblance of interest in someone who potentially speaks of war (completely his assumption) and supporting dreams so freely, isn't it? ]

Ha, well, lately? Might as well call ‘em dinosaurs. [ because they are… ] Big lizards, so they were straightforward enough. Bit different from what’s hangin’ around here, sounds like.

[ Then, for introductions, his smile quirks just a little. ]

[ He gives his name easily, but with how his smile tilts, there’s an unspoken understanding from Outsider to Outsider. That’s not the real one, clearly. But while they’re being filmed, it’ll have to do. It’s not a pretense he loves, but, hey, maybe it’ll make the reveal name later a better reveal. Who knows? ]

If dinosaurs were your only issue, then I guess they at least have some variety here. [ so maybe it could be fun in that sense? he supposed since each one was unique, it did remind him a lot of how each floor tended to have a different set of creatures and trials.

he probably should have just said danpung, even if it's the same message. at least it's comparatively less embarrassed than being Maple Story. though, not by a very large margin. but, truly... the name reveal can only go up from here. ]

[ Tezcatlipoca nods in agreement, since honestly, he is excited for more variety when it comes to things to fight. The deinos were easy pickings, honestly, so something that puts up an actual fight is much more fun. However, that’s not what he speaks to, though. The name catches him a little off guard. ]

…Autumn Leaves, huh? Sounds like a codename.

[ His tone makes it clear that he doesn’t find it that weird and it’s not a criticism of Yuwon. It’s more a criticism of LILITH… As a result, he waves a hand dismissively, since he figures it’s not something he can explain. ]

Well, either way, nice to meet ya. Dunno if this is working for the dating purpose, but it’s been a good way for me to get acquainted.

[ yuwon just gives him... a look.

though, with how casually the other man says it, he's sure it wasn't meant as an insult to him and his personal naming sense. if he had named himself, it probably would be worse, actually (but no one has to know this). while he does briefly wonder where it comes from, he decisively opts on not placing more thought into it than he had to. ]

Yeah, it gave me a lot to think about. [ ... and he definitely is interested, though obviously not in terms of dating prospects, either. he figures it'd be nice to have a conversation outside of this. ] Since you feel that way, I have some questions I might want to ask you later.

[ is this him asking for his #, maybe. though, i guess he could just find him the system himself. ]

[ Tezcatlipoca makes a mild noise that might be a note of a laugh, but if so, it’s dry. To himself, he’s thinking about how LILITH clearly has some sense of humor (or, “humor”) with their naming. Whether usernames or the civilian identities they get, seems like they go for things that are fitting in some way.

That’s for himself, though it’s fitting that Yuwon does follow up with the other one. Tezcatlipoca starts smoothly: ]

[ He pauses. Considers. Then sighs, because it’s one thing for people to see it, but saying it aloud… ]

Okay, I didn’t pick it, to be clear. But “nice toy”. That’s the username.

... ] I might have to change my mind.

[ he's kidding. he pauses for all of two seconds, before his eyes light back up, obviously inputting in the information before he sends him a quick message. the message will come from the username "NIGHTFALL." ]

Are you used to people asking for your contact? You didn't even bat an eye.

[ Tezcatlipoca grimaces a little, since honestly, he can't say it's unfair. It's a stupid name. But also kind of funny? His feelings are mixed. At least a messages does come through, and he laughs as he realizes it was a joke. ]

ha, then I'm gonna be the one with the "weird" name for real here. Tezcatlipoca. didn't think about the introductions part when I figured this would be a good way to meet people.

[ Yet as he sends the message, he speaks simultaneously, since that's not an either-or for how his brain works. Gods are pretty used to dividing their attention, so. ]

...Is that a weird thing to do? [ gods are also just used to being straightforward, apparently, ] Nah, wouldn't say I am, but didn't see any harm in it.

[ it's a foreign sounding name in a lot of ways, and yet amongst the other names he knows, it doesn't seem too out of place. ] Tezcatlipoca. It's a unique name, but it still doesn't beat "nice toy."

[ it's not exactly weird, but when he recalls how guarded most people in the tower, including himself, tended to be. it was easy to see that texcatlipoca was a different kind of person altogether. ]

A little. At least, I don't ask people too easily. [ he admits just as readily. ] Either way, I profited off of it since you gave in, so I'm not complaining.

...it definitely beats it. whoever is picking the usernames is a little shit doing it for jokes.

[ Since from the ones he knows so far to get what they're referring to, they have a some kind of sense of humor, clearly. Little does he know that it's the players laughing and pushing their blorbos into the mud, ]

Ha, yeah. Works out for both of us! [ He laughs a little more and shrugs ] Since, gotta admit, not really all that interested in the dating thing... But gettin' to know people that I'll be workin' with? It's doin' great for that, so I can call it a success too. Or profiting, if you prefer that.
