( open; ) summer episode part 2?

WHO: Any Outsider is more than welcome!
WHAT: Dating shows... I was bullied.
WHERE: Between Okinawa & Neo Tokyo.
WHEN: Throughout the remainder of July (listen, it's a production)!
WARNINGS: Partial nudity, alcohol, potential suggestive topics, and will update 'em as I see 'em!

Throughout the city of Neo Tokyo and even Okinawa, there will be advertisements posted by the hundreds (and spam mail to your oculars by an equal number), desiring candidates for a show. While the aftermath of vegas and other bleak instances might have led way for people practicing some semblance of moderation— opposite to that, the people also need their entertainment, don't they?

Fortunately, there will be an influx of dating shows looking for people to appear. They are offering a fairly decent amount of money and are even offering luxury experiences for free for participants. In this economy and food shortage??? Okay, the food may be lacking, but they do make up for it in various activities they have planned, where people can kick back, relax, and romance?

While there will be any number of shows looking for interested parties, these are the main shows/premises:

SPEED DATING

As the label suggests. People will be expected to sit down and switch through several partners. In their hands will be a card labeling who they encounter and a place to leave a check mark. They will also be given a list of questions that can be answered.

PARTNER SWAP

People can be on a show and swap partners. This doesn't necessarily need to be romantic, either. Have a friend you want to show up with, cool. The only rules are that the pairs who enter together cannot stay together during the duration of the show.

SINGLES INFERNO

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be trapped on a deserted island with other hot singles? Well, now you no longer have to wonder. They will need to cook and fend for themselves here with minimal activities or distraction— but, isn't that the point? All you need to focus on is each other! (* They will be ferried to an outer island by Okinawa). While on the island, which they label as inferno, it's also a rule that one cannot speak about their age, occupation, or any such personal details. All of this will be reserved for "paradise." To go to paradise, two individuals will need to pick one another, and if they do — they are able to go on to completed various luxury experiences together.

For those who would rather find paradise in inferno together, you can presume there are tents that act as shared dormitory quarters where contestants will stay together.

DATE ME

People are free to use this for just general dates. Maybe, you just want to finesse the system and enjoy a fun all-expense-paid for date in which you get to eat like relative kings and enjoy various experiences. Feel free to use anything in the setting to your desire.

SKINSHIP STARTER

... a show where you get paid the more skinship you do. Don't do anything you wouldn't do in a Wendy's though. (That's not how the saying actually goes).

COMMENTARY PANEL

Every good dating show needs those who simply sit and commentate, right?

* It can be assumed any of this is just open to general CR you want to spend time with, too. This is just supposed to be a silly log for chances for characters to get to know one another! Characters are more than welcome to assume they stumble upon this by accident, think it's just a basic job and can't leave, film or unfilmed (minus the commentary prompt), and whatever else! Feel free to tag freely, threadjack, etc!

But no, she'll clarify. Not that it's going to make a whole lot of sense, but. Look at that, she's still helpfully answering his questions! What a catch. ]

[ She couldn't have started with that?? Still, his grip doesn't relent even as he looks at her plainly. ]

And you've already checked all along the coast area…?

Believe it or not, yes. The pieces I found were all too short.

[ Gosh, Elysium, do you think she would just simply plunge into the ocean otherwise?

I mean perhaps to get the hell off this island where people are trying to act sexy or aggressively romantic, but it's fine. She only considered it briefly. ]

I'm guessing you didn't think of what the optics of it must've looked like…

[ The producers definitely had the time of their life interpreting what her staring out into the ocean must've meant… Does this mean that they can consider Gebura a natural at this?? Maybe.

At this point, they've probably decided that it's better to cut off the audio for this segment and leave the viewers wondering though. As they're out there building a dramatic narrative for them, Elysium finally releases Gebura's shirt. ]

Whatever you're planning, I'll keep watch.

Are you that worried I'm going to drown?

[ She quirks an eyebrow at him, even though maybe that was a legit concern of his, given the treatment he'd just given her shirt. Like okay, maybe she should have stopped and actually swapped clothes to a swimsuit first, but sometimes it's all about the impulse. ]

No, but wouldn't it help to dress for the occasion? Going out there in clothing's such a drag.

[ He quirks an eyebrow back, but he eventually settles down on the sand with a cheek in his palm. ]

And if it isn't me out here, it'll be someone else. [ a sideglance to the cameras. ] … Can't say I'd ever expected to see you out here, though. Short on cash?

I'm used to getting by on very little and I'm also not in the habit of spending my money all at once.

[ So. No. She pauses to at least tug off her shoes, chucking them back towards the beach.

Elysium won't let himself get hit, probably. ]

But I got dragged into it by a coworker. More like "moral support", though she owes me one hell of a favor for it. [ She's wading further out now, but she can still call back rather clearly, glancing over her shoulder. ]

What, I'm not sexy enough for your standards?

[ This is, amazingly, not serious. ]

[ She is, in fact, right on the money! He catches her shoes with his hands and sets them down next to him, dusting his hands off after. Eugh, sandy. But, can't let them fly away now. ]

I'm a little afraid to ask, but what kind of favour would pay off you showing up on a dating show, of all things? Something involving putting her life on the line…?

one, two. four. then——he breaks out into a grin. ]

And what the. Hey, does this mean we've gotten closer? You're plenty sexy, miss! I just thought you'd want to change into a wetsuit or something to make it easier for yourself in there. Besides, haven't I already seen everything? What's there to hide?

but he's talking about her sexy bunny outfit…… surely, now's the best time to bring it up! ]

[ Surely. Thankfully, the camera won't catch the reminiscent grimace on Gebura's face (because there's never a good time to bring that up) and she wades further out. She's not actually sure how deep she needs to go for seaweed, but maybe the longer strands will get pushed closer to her before they end up on the shore. ]

I'm fine. And that was hardly everything.

[ Like. Way more skin than she'd usually show, willingly, but at least most of the relevant parts had stayed covered. ]

[ Thoughtfully: ]

It didn't leave much for imagination.

[ ANYWAY anyway anyway. before his body ends up mysteriously washed ashore some days into this dating program: ]

What're you looking for seaweed for, anyway? For trapping us on a stranded island, they've left us with plenty of amenities.

[ why is she putting so much elbow grease into this…! ]

Though if I need to take a break long enough to throw you deeper into the ocean, I think that's a necessary breather.

Trying to get a scene going on in the water? Can't say I'm particularly adverse to it. [ opening his arms out wide… come pick him up… ] Why don't you?

[ and because i'm allergic to tildes, one can imagine it entirely said in sing song; she definitely should've said drown, instead. ]

… Wait, wait. You're telling me you searched the entire coast and now you're digging into the ocean for a hair tie? I get wanting to look busy, but couldn't you have just fashioned some vines for that?

[ he imagines it'd be much less slimy too, for starters ]

[ Have you ever wanted to see Gebura go completely silent but still stride towards you (in the water) with the utmost conviction?

Congratulations! He brings up a complete valid point, but fuck that!! If he thinks she's not coming straight for him to grab him by the waist and haul him up over her shoulder, hoo boy-- ]

[ Sometimes a guy spends the last four years of his life getting manhandled by his captain several times a month and has unlearned what it's like to feel fear from a lady that could snap him in two more ways than he can ever think of, but that's just how it goes.

The sequence of events is as follows: Gebura approaches, Elysium arches a brow, she lifts him and he squawks in sheer surprise before it bubbles into pure laughter as if he's caught onto some kind of joke. Aha…! ]

Hey, hey, hey!! [ if they didn't have the camera's interest before, they do now. ] What is this, a kidnapping——?!

Don't worry. I'm not planning on keeping you or ransoming you off.

[ Well, the cameras are definitely rolling now, because you definitely do not see a woman heave a man two inches taller than her up and over her shoulder every day, and still be able to walk with purpose back into the ocean, deeper than before.

Until she can unceremoniously chuck him into the water. ]

—Hrk! If you thought I'd take this lying down, you've… thought wrong…!

[ What does it say that he expects this. What does it say that he has the presence of mind to twist his body and latch onto any part of Gebura that he can before he's thrown too far?

If he's going down, he's not going down alone!!! ]

[ Funny, how she had this thought when Vergilius' younger self tried to knock her down into a pile of dead bodies in a bathroom.

Well, the ocean is a lot less gross than that and Gebura had more or less seen this coming too, so she's not too terribly surprised when Elysium proves to be more octopus than bird in this moment and grabs her by the waist to drag her along with him.

It is a most majestic splash as they hit the water.

Amazing. ]

[ Unlike Vergilius, what comes out of Elysium's mouth is probably infinitely worse. He's by no means comfortable——sea water everywhere in his mouth and down his throat where it shouldn't be, but as soon as he manages to regulate his breathing at minimum, he's back to beaming mischievously, as if he's accomplished a particularly impressive feat by getting Gebura out here with him. ]

Convoluted way of getting someone to join you in the water, wouldn't you say?

[ yeah, he's her personal octopus and up in her face. so what! ]

[ She is not particularly thrilled about either of these things?? Actually???

Her hair is also everywhere, unconstrained by its lack of tie, which might normally make her look like the Little Mermaid or something, if she were smiling or alluring or any of that.

But none of that is happening and is highly unlikely to happen, and one hand nudges (pushes) at his chin intimately (to get him away from her face) and the other looks like it's caressing his side or tickling him (she's briskly searching for a weak spot to loosen his grip). So the cameras are having a great time and Gebura's not about this life. ]

How does anyone actually stand you?

[ Has she considered that because she isn't particularly thrilled and often isn't, that it just causes her to be stuck in this endless feedback loop where Elysium thrives?? How much can he get away with before she beats him inches away from death, or to actual death? How exciting.

In a way, throwing him into the ocean could constitute as her letting loose, right? ]

Why would you say that, Miss Gebura? I'm just a fun-loving guy——oof! [ Dramaticizing his reactions just because, while clinging onto her as if for dear life. She's noticeably sturdy under his hands, and there's a vague thought that this is somehow the closest they've ever been. Strong, reliable. Not only does she cut the perfect picture for what Ishmael had described her to be, he can feel it, her decades of hard work. ] But I told you before that I'm too good at my job to simply replace. Our bosses here [ LILITH ] might have a few words for you too, if you decide to do anything!

[ There's also a separate thing where he simply can't be replaced because there's something literally only he can do, but that's a much longer and more complicated story not exactly for television. ]

Like their words are going to make me regret anything. Get off, already!

[ As she is still in the process of methodically trying to pry him off of her. You can marvel at her strength another day?? You've already seen her fight??? Elysium!!! This is far more contact than she's had in a while, barring fighting, and there's something distinctly Odd about it. Like her body itself can't understand why anyone would do this, let alone her own thoughts. ]

[ One would argue that he's already more than pushed his luck, but Elysium eventually relents after a few more seconds of this tussle, not wanting to push it further. His laughter is unfettered as it always is—even as he's certain the telltale aches from several points of his limbs will bruise. It's fine, it's fine. ]

What else were you expecting from pulling something like that off?

[ occasionally. he hacks up water, throat hoarse from a combination of laughing and being water lodged. totally fine ]
