( open; ) summer episode part 2?

WHAT: Dating shows... I was bullied.
WHERE: Between Okinawa & Neo Tokyo.
WHEN: Throughout the remainder of July (listen, it's a production)!
WARNINGS: Partial nudity, alcohol, potential suggestive topics, and will update 'em as I see 'em!

Throughout the city of Neo Tokyo and even Okinawa, there will be advertisements posted by the hundreds (and spam mail to your oculars by an equal number), desiring candidates for a show. While the aftermath of vegas and other bleak instances might have led way for people practicing some semblance of moderation— opposite to that, the people also need their entertainment, don't they?

Fortunately, there will be an influx of dating shows looking for people to appear. They are offering a fairly decent amount of money and are even offering luxury experiences for free for participants. In this economy and food shortage??? Okay, the food may be lacking, but they do make up for it in various activities they have planned, where people can kick back, relax, and romance?

While there will be any number of shows looking for interested parties, these are the main shows/premises:

  SPEED DATING  

As the label suggests. People will be expected to sit down and switch through several partners. In their hands will be a card labeling who they encounter and a place to leave a check mark. They will also be given a list of questions that can be answered.

  PARTNER SWAP  

People can be on a show and swap partners. This doesn't necessarily need to be romantic, either. Have a friend you want to show up with, cool. The only rules are that the pairs who enter together cannot stay together during the duration of the show.

  SINGLES INFERNO  

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be trapped on a deserted island with other hot singles? Well, now you no longer have to wonder. They will need to cook and fend for themselves here with minimal activities or distraction— but, isn't that the point? All you need to focus on is each other! (* They will be ferried to an outer island by Okinawa). While on the island, which they label as inferno, it's also a rule that one cannot speak about their age, occupation, or any such personal details. All of this will be reserved for "paradise." To go to paradise, two individuals will need to pick one another, and if they do — they are able to go on to completed various luxury experiences together.

For those who would rather find paradise in inferno together, you can presume there are tents that act as shared dormitory quarters where contestants will stay together.

  DATE ME  

People are free to use this for just general dates. Maybe, you just want to finesse the system and enjoy a fun all-expense-paid for date in which you get to eat like relative kings and enjoy various experiences. Feel free to use anything in the setting to your desire.

  SKINSHIP STARTER  

... a show where you get paid the more skinship you do. Don't do anything you wouldn't do in a Wendy's though. (That's not how the saying actually goes).

  COMMENTARY PANEL  

Every good dating show needs those who simply sit and commentate, right?

* It can be assumed any of this is just open to general CR you want to spend time with, too. This is just supposed to be a silly log for chances for characters to get to know one another! Characters are more than welcome to assume they stumble upon this by accident, think it's just a basic job and can't leave, film or unfilmed (minus the commentary prompt), and whatever else! Feel free to tag freely, threadjack, etc!

Gebura keeps warning him about that, too, but... Siffrin is very good at avoiding such fates. Can't get mad at them if they never say something in the first place. ]

[ Oh, right. Sorry about that. ]

[ That is an audible groan from a producer, who sounds extremely disappointed by this, and Gebura shoots them a Glare. ]

[siffriend]

Pfft.

[ Hidden behind their fruit, which they eat the rest of... in one swoop, cheeks puffed with mango like a hamster. Good to keep from laughing, and somehow he doesn't choke before he swallows it. ]

[ Maybe now the camera crews will go since it seems like their time together is winding down, go watch a more interesting pair-- ]

[ Good. Get out. Gebura's stare isn't getting any less Intimidating and clearly Siffrin is not going to be of any help if she storms over there and breaks their equipment, so after a short and awkward pause, the current crew does shuffle away to, like.

Go stare at a more flirtatious couple. Or something.

Gebura watches them go, one hand drifting up to rub at her temple. ]

This really isn't my thing.

But it was nice of you to come anyway, for your colleague. Especially since it's not your thing.

[ See! See! She's at least "nice"! This is what they're talking about! ]

[bemist]

[ This is definitely not a "nice" side glance. ]

Nice to myself in the long run, maybe. She never would have shut up about it otherwise.

[siffriend]

[ Heheheh. They'll accept the not-so-nice glance, kicking their feet slightly. ]

I'll take your word for it, since you know your own better than I ever would. Can I ask about them?

[bemist]

[ Gebura mutters something under her breath about "years" and "loops", but doesn't seem interested in clarifying that, instead finishing up her mango. ]

You can ask.

[ Not spoken but definitely implied is "But I don't have to answer if I don't feel like it." ]

[siffriend]

[ (... "Loops"?

She doesn't clarify, but the word remains stuck in your mind. Of course it does.) ]

Physical or personality?

[ Well, that's easy enough, either way. One word. Nice and succinct. ]

[siffriend]

Personality. That tells me more than anything.

[ Of them, of Gebura. ]

[bemist]

[ There's a short pause. ]

Malkuth is energetic. Yesod is fussy. Netzach is laidback.

[ Things she can say about them, then and now. ]

[siffriend]

[ Yesod...

...

(Wait.) ]

The metal guy?

[bemist]

[ Well, that could be or the other--

So Siffrin's already met one of them, huh? Probably not that surprising. ]

Yeah.

[siffriend]

[ Siffrin leans forward, staring hard at her, then back into the seat. ]

You aren't Crafted like him, since you can eat. But his humor is better than yours.

[bemist]

... I'll live. [ So dry. ]

It's a long story, but I had a form like his once.

[siffriend]

[ She won't even hear out the wordplay he got told...! ]

Was it as tall as you are now?

[ The important questions, here. ]

[bemist]

No.

[ Definitely not. ]

I was probably just a little taller than you, like that. The way I am now was more how I looked before I died.

[ Scars aside, obviously. ]

[siffriend]

[ With scars, got it. But with two "gold" eyes. ]

It doesn't sound like any kind of Craft I've heard of... but there's a lot of places that have their own kind, or so Odile says. So maybe there's a Body Craft that can do what your... technology? [ They think. ] Can do too.

It's probably possible, but even though I'm not sure exactly how it worked, I wouldn't recommend it.

[ She glances down at one scar-laced hand, flexing her fingers. ]

That part was Hell. But as it stands, Malkuth and I are from further in the future than the other two.

[siffriend]

[ Kind of like how they can loop ahead in the day, maybe. But on a bigger scale? It isn't that different, it's just not something Siffrin can put their head to.

So they won't. Sounds like it was hard being metal though, so that's one question answered. He doesn't seem too affected by the new knowledge, like it's about on the same level as learning someone's favorite shade. ]

It must be hard knowing things they don't. At least you have one person that understands where you're at.

Mostly. I'm from further than she is, but at the least, she knows the basic points.

[ Gebura doesn't technically have to watch what she says to the other two, because it doesn't really come up that often as a topic. Though she's sure Yesod will approach her about it sooner or later. ]

They're all friendlier than I am, and you've met at least one of them, so you can get to know the others if you feel like it.

[siffriend]

[ He wouldn't call her unfriendly, but that's because he hasn't given her reason to be... That's how this has been working. It's nice to have predictable companions. ]

I'll keep it in mind if I hear their names around.

Mira is shy and kind. Isa is loud and brave, and Odile is curious and perceptive. Bonnie's young and angry. Those are my family members.

Family members, huh.

They all sound completely different. But maybe that's what makes a good family.
