DOWNTIME MINGLE #3
DOWNTIME MINGLE #3
▶ 001. A JOB WELL DONE.
As Outsiders head back from Okinawa (or, perhaps they are already back, characters were able to leave Okinawa through the dataportal whenever) with plenty of coconut crab and mutated fish, Outsiders can expect to have the cafeteria filled with crab and fish food for the next.. well, undetermined amount of time. The power outages have been restored on the LILITH base, and while Outsiders have been enjoying their change of pace in Okinawa, there has been some celebratory news across the Outsider's ocular implants. It looks like it is a message from the big guy himself! Whoever that is. Wasn't his name.. Eiji something? Elijah?

The announcement won't leave an Outsider's implant until it has been read, but just as the voice said, Outsiders will find a Sampo themed pachinko machine installed by the cafeteria near the vending machines. It looks like it's ready to be played! Why not give it a go? Because who wouldn't want to see this charm willingly.
A lot of toy companies are also wanting their skin in this game and have introduced the set of several actions figures based off Yzak and Dearka's gundams, which can be seen distributed on base. The caveat, however, is that you will need to build them piece-by-piece. Alongside this, there will also be Denji-themed plushies, even if it looks like a cross between a dog and human.
Thanks to Choso, hair care on the base has also gotten a lot better. Due to sponsorships, Outsiders are readily able to access more shampoo and conditioner options. Though, maybe thanks to the pictures on the bottle— buns are now trending.
Maybe give the pachinko machine a spin? Or try Choso's brand of shampoo your team's wing communal shower?
"I'm not going to waste my time with introductions, because we have more important matters to discuss. First of all, good work. Second, while we have been met with several successes, don't let it get to your head. Third, continue following the lead of Yamakawa. ... This is why I don't do celebratory speeches. CODENAMES MONEYBAGS, DUELWIELD, BUSTERMOVE, CHAINSAW MAN and CURSE... great work. You'll see the rewards of your hard work momentarily. Report to me for a payout."

▶ 002. TRADITIONAL TANABATA.
The sun is hot but summer is traditionally festival season in Neo Tokyo; these old traditions have managed to hold up in this gritty society in attempts to keep a positive morale, so some citizens and organizers try to keep the tradition going and lift spirits by celebrating local festivals. Many districts and neighborhoods have their own festivals as well. One day, you might stumble onto a shopping district’s wind chime festival and the next day, you might find flyers for a neighborhood’s morning glory festival.
The largest festival of the month is the Tanabata festival. Since the holiday falls in an odd weekday this year, the main celebration is held the next weekend. Civilians and Outsiders can find various shrines, shopping centers, and community buildings with bamboo branches on display with holographic slips of paper that alternate colors. Characters that pass by may submit their wishes on their implants; a new way to keep the old tradition.
On the weekend, some stalls have been set up for people to celebrate. Attendance is low because of the heat and due to a food shortage, the options are lacking. However, there are plenty of games such as a toy shooting range with laser guns and kaiju targets. There are also goldfish catching games where people can catch a cheap goldfish drone that can “swim” in the air and water and shoot bubbles. As a bonus, LILITH will provide Outsiders with an outfit upgrade to help lift spirits. The outfit consists of a traditional summer yukata or jinbei.
Fireworks have gone out of style due to attracting kaiju attention. However, at the festival’s end, there is a drone light show. Hundreds of customized hummingbird drones take to the sky and create elaborate illuminations and shapes in the sky while music plays.

▶ 003. DR. RATIO'S RENOVATIONS.
Festival season means LILITH also has to get in on the action, and while a certain Outsider named Dr. Ratio has raised concerns over the stated of the LILITH base Library, LILITH has actually listened to his desperate plea to renovate the library. What a perfect opportunity for LILITH to use the festival as a way of raising funds so they don't have to dip into their kaiju payout funds (and pizza party fund.) It's time for LILITH's annual SUMMER FESTA. Every year, LILITH comes together with local organizations like fire stations, police stations, clinics, and nonprofits to promote public safety and awareness. It's a one day festival where people can get information about what to do to stay safe not only during kaiju attacks but in their daily lives. The funds raised at the festival will go to training, supplies, research, and maintaining services.
As usual, LILITH is raising money for disaster relief supplies and renovation projects across Neo Tokyo. Per request, LILITH has agreed to set aside some funds to help renovate the facilities on base, including the library. However, they will task the Outsiders with raising the money.
It's a festival so how they raise the money is both up up to them or they may take the suggestions according to their team placement below. Either way, Outsiders are required to work with other people on their same team but they're encouraged to make it fun. Set up game stalls, sell food, do performances, and ask for donations to raise as much money as possible for their projects. The team that raises the most money is promised a prize while the losers will be punished. Here are the team suggestions below and some of them may have some new, modern twists:
Everlight: Kingyo-sukui, which is goldfish catching with a paper scoop. Managing the takoyaki stands.
Revelation: Yoyo-tsuri, fishing for water-filled balloons with a “fishing pole” with a paper string. Managing the mask stands.
Brimstone: Shateki, shooting at targets for prizes. Managing the sparklers stands.. sparklers shouldn't catch kaiju attention, right?
Redemption: Wanage, ring toss. Managing the onigiri stands.
Outsiders will be given a week to prepare for the festival and they only have a single day to raise funds. In the evening, the winning team is announced: Revelation. All team members will receive can badges and a pizza party. A special donation will also be made to the library on their behalf: A stack full of self help books, yes, REAL books and not holograms or digital books, such as "Overcoming Your Depression for Dummies" and "How to Make Friends 101." Thank you for your effort, Team Revelation!
As for the losers, they will be given options: Sign up or the final fundraising event of the night or help clean up at the end of the festival. The final fundraiser is a punishment game where volunteers from each organization are dunked in tubs of water or pied in the face. It seems like a certain person (Seok Dang) was supposed to be LILITH’s tribute but he is nowhere to be found… maybe one of the other losers will step up and take his place to be dunked in water or pied in the face? Characters may also sign up a loser character without their consent. Come on, be a good sport!

▶ 004. MONSOON SEASON.
Despite the celebrations and attempts to raise morale, the heatwave persists in Neo Tokyo and with it, the problems from the beginning of the month. Food continues to go bad quickly and while fundraising attempts have provided some relief, the city is huge and shelf stable supplies begin to run low again. The energy crisis improves slightly with blackouts occurring less frequently as emergency personnel attempt to intervene. Though the weather is dreary, the renovations must press on! Fortunately, most of the things to do around the Library consist of staying inside. Dr. Ratio has given the following orders which Outsiders may help with in the Library:
- Install better lighting.
- Organize and add more books.
- Set up and secure tables and chairs.
- Add couches to once section of the library to convert it into a lounging area.
Characters may work together to help, or maybe they prefer to laze around and give the newly renovated Library a test run!
After a few days, finally, the rain meteorologists have promised arrives. The skies darken and heavy rain falls on the city which brings much cooler temperatures. People stay inside more often as it becomes too inconvenient to go out when the rain and wind are so strong. The rainstorms grow stronger and eventually become fully fledged storms. The ground shakes from thunder and lightning strikes light up the sky.
Everyone’s ocular implants will frequently give warnings about the weather. LILITH will task Outsiders with assisting across the city. Help evacuate citizens to higher ground during flash floods. After the storms subside, help clear the streets of debris and trees. Some neighborhoods will lose power because of lightning strikes and need their generators restored. However, every time they finish their tasks, a new storm will occur a few days later and they’ll have to repeat.
At first, it seems like the typical summer storm season but meteorologists become concerned when more storms begin to happen without following clear weather patterns and even the locals remark the season seems very active this year… could it be another kaiju? The last time Neo Tokyo had floods, it was sea water, but this is caused by heavy rain. Like clockwork, LILITH's investigating team is on the lookout for energy from a rift or any leads to what could be causing all of the heavy rain. Outsiders are instructed to keep an eye out for any emergency messages.

▶ 005. AFTERWORD.
Welcome to our third downtime mingle! While we would typically have a texting prompt, we instead have player plots for this event! Thank you Abbel and Eski for the Tanabata and festival player prompt and Sky for the Library renovations plot! We appreciate Eski for spending 500 bonus points to provide everyone with something to wear for Tanabata. For the character-run stalls as part of the renovation prompt, players are not limited to the suggestions given by the mods and are free to come up with their own stall ideas. Additionally, for characters signing up other characters for the dunk tank, please make sure you get OOC permission from their players first.
Please note also we have added new rewards: the Poison Dagger, Cat Ear Visor, and the Elemental Swords now come in the models Ice and Lightning. Please see the REWARDS page for more information.
All tags on this log are worth 2 points.

EVENT BREAKDOWN (CLICK TO EXPAND)
1. A JOB WELL DONE: The kaiju heavy hitters get recognition with.. a pachinko machine and shampoo sponsorship? Outsiders can react to their fellow colleagues about this development, or maybe even talk to the winners themselves around the base.
2. TRADITIONAL TANABATA: It's Tanabata season, even in a post-apocalyptic world! Put on some old, traditional attire with your friends and enjoy a drone show.
3. DR. RATIO'S RENOVATIONS: LILITH has teamed up with the local safety personnel to get in on the festival season. Characters are encouraged to fundraise for renovations at the LILITH base Library. Teams may also visit other teams events and stands to donate, partake in, and.. maybe deliver some competitive harassment.
4. MONSOON SEASON: With the weather being hot and renovations needing done, LILITH works together to improve the Library. A few days later, the weather gets suspiciously intense and Outsiders are instructed to help civilians with power outages, flash flooding, debris from heavy wind and rain.

001. ▶ A JOB WELL DONE.
💥 ➊ WELL DONE. - Real Food on Campus
[Leaving the beaches of Okinawa for the streets of Neo Tokyo is a far harder trade than abandoning Vegas for their base city. But a job's a job and Bakugo can be found in the cafeteria occasionally, getting something to eat while in a police officer's uniform. His patrol car is parked outside. Locked. Fee free to catch him sitting at a table towards the corner or standing away from everyone to eat in private. He's not a talkative guy, irritable and all, but hey, you might be up for the challenge!
Otherwise, he's going to simply grab a slab of crab and/or fish from the cafeteria and bounce. If you know him well or want to follow him, you can find Bakugo in the Everlight dorm, cooking a far-tastier meal in the kitchen using the procured food and some additional ingredients, mostly rice and vegetables. Want to try your luck at helping him cook or mooch off his hard work? Prove to him you're worth the investment.]
💥 ➋ WELL DONE. - What Friends are For
[Having landed the fatal blow on the Yamadenki three months ago, Bakugo knows well enough what it means to be the victor against the kaiju, smug as fuck that he triumphed over the damn electric geckos! Of course, now he's having to compare the rewards of the victors this month compared to his own. On-brand-themed ramen cups with all the spices versus... toys. HAA?! THEY GOT FUCKING TOYS?! WHAT ABOUT HIS DYNAMIGHT ACTION FIGURE?! HIS MODEL STATUE!! HIS HERO RESIN CAST!! FUCK!! ...Though if you see Bakugo standing in front of a pile of Denji-themed plushies, you might catch a fleeting look on his face that ranges from initial "what the fuck" weirdness to a slight smirk that's oddly affectionate as he picks one of the stuffed toys from the pile. He's gonna rib Denji hard for this one. This is his boyfriend after all.
Alternatively, you might catch him with the gundam model boxes in a bag on his way back. Close CR or those who dare to try to visit Bakugo in his room, can find him halfway through building Dearka's gundam. The surface of his desk is all set up and protected to create a model-building space that looks 100% the focused and attentive expert Bakugo usually is... that nerdy side of him he normally hides from everyone when it comes to collectors shit.]
[ Closed to Choso ~ From @ Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight ]
HA! You've got your face in so many people's showers now!
002. ▶ TRADITIONAL TANABATA.
💥 ➊ TANABATA. - Nostalgia
[Even if his hero society is over a century advanced and swarmed with superpowers, many of Japan's traditions remain, including festivals like Tanabata. In his months here, Bakugo's grown to silently appreciate that LILITH and Neo Tokyo still try to keep the year going like normal, despite the kaiju threats and destruction. It makes him more willing to take part in the traditions as a show of solidarity with Japan. Here or home, Japan is Japan.
When he's not on duty at his job or assisting as an Outsider proper, Bakugo can be found at various stores and shopping districts, mostly browsing with little interest in buying anything. He's not someone to stuff his room full. However, in one particular moment, the young hero stands amid the hot breeze as multiple chimes clink and sing around him, holding a black and orange windchime that happened to catch his eye. He seems caught up in silence, likely a rush of nostalgia that brings gentle memories and a longing for home.
Later in the warm evenings, a few times during the festival period, you can find Bakugo at the Shinjuku Shrine, lingering among the bamboo in the quiet of the night air. Something about the holographic slips of paper changing color amid the branches is both an ethereal pleasantry, reminiscent of the colored streamers and ribbons of the normal Tanabata tradition, and an irritating reminder of what's been lost. Ultimately, tradition wins out and he won't bother with electronic wish. Instead, you might be able to catch Bakugo attaching a hand-written slip of paper to the bamboo.]
💥 ➋ TANABATA. - Festivals
[Despite it being hot as a damn blaze out here, Bakugo makes time to go to the Tanabata festival. Dressed in a traditional summer yukata, he spends his time wandering between the food stalls, little attractions, and the carnival games. Not being a very big spender in other places, today he seems a little more open with his proverbial wallet, buying things from vendors and then giving them right back simply because he wants to acknowledge their efforts in making the festival still happen despite the low turn out and people being strapped for money, food and other resources.
Bakugo's far more attracted to the games, his usual competitive nature flaring up when he takes hold of a laser gun and instantly snipes two kaiju targets. You wanna challenge him or team up with him? He'll demand a good show either way. At another stall, Bakugo keenly guides the paper paddle above the water, eyes the catch below, and with a quick dip → slice → scoop → acquires a new companion: Bomb King, his little grenade fish drone. He can be easily cajoled into other carnival games, but definitely plays to win, loud and intense with a great deal of skill.]
💥 ➌ TANABATA. - "Fireworks"
[Fireworks have had an interesting history with Bakugo, initially being an amazing display of color, noise, light, and power, only to rapidly lose their interest when his Quirk manifested. Why care about fireworks in the sky when he can make amazing explosions in his own hands? Hell, with enough fine-tuned concentration, Bakugo can make small streamer explosions, akin to sparklers, above his palm, as well as miniature firework-like bursts of orange, yellow, and white. But as he lies on his back on a blanket in the grass, Bakugo watches the drone light show above in silent contemplation. The sight is rather impressive, reminding him of dancing fountains, but this time in the sky. Sometimes, in rare moments like these, Neo Tokyo doesn't seem that bad.]
003. ▶ DR. RATIO'S RENOVATIONS.
💥 ➊ RENOVATIONS. - Police Awareness
[He's seen these kinds of promos before; the various emergency vocations and law enforcement stations in Japan would promote awareness and expand on public safety alongside the powerful and famous Heroes who threw their support in with the various establishments. A lot of heroes actually specialized in certain disaster relief efforts or criminal deterrents, heroes with water-themed Quirks operating with firefighters and heroes with speed-themed Quirks operating with the police, just to name two examples. It's one of the reasons Bakugo signed onto the police force as his job of choice shortly after he arrived in Neo Tokyo. At any point in the following, if you want to talk to him about his world's police force, feel free.
For his part, Bakugo stations himself with other members of Neo Tokyo's Police Department (NTPD) at their stand. Whether it's going over the evacuation routes during a kaiju strike or giving lessons on how to beat the ever-living SHIT out of someone breaking into your house (okay, he begrudgingly goes over the pros and cons of standing your ground and escaping while calling the police), Bakugo focuses on civilian protection. He offers some practical demonstrations: learn how to take down an assailant (another Outsider can partner with him for this) or quick draw your pepper spray and/or taser. And finally, he'll let a few lucky people take a quick ride around the festival perimeter in his patrol car (again, another Outsider can either partner with him or be the one getting the ride). Police are a large factor in hero society, so Bakugo takes them seriously and with pride. Meaning he's also hard on them if they fuck up, so there are downsides to that pride as well.]
💥 ➋ RENOVATIONS. - Everlight Delight
[Of course the Outsiders have to help with fundraising. Great. When Bakugo isn't serving at the NTPD awareness stand, he's helping out at the Everlight stalls. Other people can work with the customers and the money; he'll handle the Kingyo-sukui and the takoyaki. While he's working either area, feel free to comment on his new companion: Bomb King, his little grenade fish drone.
Kingyo-sukui: Bakugo is... simultaneously one of the best and one of the worst instructors you could ever have. Giving directions to customers and small children on how to play is a gruff shotgun fire at best. Dare his patience to repeat those instructions results in an explosion. Maybe you find him getting into an argument with one of the parents? Or threatening to drown a cheeky brat for trying to steal a goldfish? Perhaps you catch him in a rarer moment where he crouches beside a little platinum-haired girl and silently directs her hand to effortlessly catch one of the goldfish from the water. Either way, despite his aggression, he makes sure the stall and game runs as smoothly as possible.
Takoyaki: Most people who know Bakugo are aware he's an amazing cook. Takoyaki isn't hard for him either. He can be found over a large bowl, putting in the ingredients and mixing them, each new batch containing a slight variation in spice or flavoring to make their limited supplies stretch further. Alternatively he mans the grill pans, using chopsticks to swiftly turn the balls over in the steaming metal once they reach the proper cooking temperature, all without missing a single one. And if no one else is doing it, he's the one popping the freshly-cooked takoyaki out of the pan and onto the paper-lined disposable containers, before adding the condiments at the customer's discretion. Mind, he WILL refuse customer requests for 'extra' this or that due to the food shortages, so you might see him get into an argument if someone's being a fucking ass about it...]
004. ▶ MONSOON SEASON.
💥 ➊ MONSOON. - Library
[Bakugo has normally made do with the libraries in the city, even if they are a majority of digital. He also frequents the little bookstore that Nanami Kento used to run, taking care of the store and keeping it running even if it's not really in business anymore. He's not the owner. While he doesn't focus on restocking anything in it, he borrows books from it when he wants to read them, then returns them when done, making sure everything's in order. It's kind of a private place for him ever since the man vanished. A few others have access to it, namely Nanami's close companions. Still, nothing beats having an actual physical library in the damn base. Bakugo can be found in the Library on occasion doing one of three things: 1) organizing and arranging the books on the shelves. 2) helping to move furniture if needed. 3) swinging by to check out a book and then promptly leaving. Feel free to catch him in any of these situations and either help him or bug him.]
💥 ➋ MONSOON. - He Always Hated the Rain
[He hates the rain. He hates the dark skies and the gloomy, oppressive atmosphere. He hates feeling trapped inside as it pours outside. He hates the weight of it on the world. Most of all, he hates the way it interferes with his Quirk. It washes away his sweat, it dilutes his explosions, it interferes with his power and motions. It makes him appear weak. So he hates it. Even if he's not outside in it, Bakugo's attitude changes when it rains. He's noticeably quieter than normal, his expression is harsher, and he's always in a bad mood, moreso than normal. The things he does during the rain are frighteningly efficient, pushing himself even harder so anyone who sees him won't think he's anything less than his usual 100% amazing. Yet it wears on him despite that and he finds himself wanting to be alone more than regular. He avoids the kitchen, cooks in his room on his single burner, stocks his mini-fridge, reads or works out, anything to try and hurry the time up so it's not raining when he looks out the window again.
Use this as an open prompt to interact with Bakugo in general during the monsoon season. His normal CR is free to realize he's compensating for his own unhappiness. Note: Denji... you're gonna get a lot of *ahem*
roughpersonal attention during rainy downtime. Pack water.]💥 ➌ MONSOON. - Rainy Day Hero
[No matter how hard the rain comes down, Bakugo refuses to let it defeat him. He attends to each disaster strike as he's able, operating with the police and other Outsiders to make sure people are safe and kept up and running. Due to the downpour, his efforts to help evacuate citizens is forced to split between his usual explosion-powered flight and tending to people in his patrol car as a police officer. He's even better when the rain stops. Outsiders are free to notice his difficulty during the rain, but expect him to react negatively if it's pointed out.
When the storms calm down and the streets are once again free of rain, Bakugo unleashes his pent-up fury on the debris and trees littering the roads. Explosions at full power vaporize fallen trucks, blast branches and sloughs of mud far away from the roads, and roar out wherever he operates. You wanna tell him to calm the fuck down, or join him in venting the rainy day blues? He'll leave getting generators restored to other Outsiders who are more ready for that job, since he focuses on the heavier lifting of evacuations and debris clearing.
If anyone wants to talk potential kaiju-related reasons for these storms, have at it. Bakugo expects such a thing to be the case and he's going to bring utter hell on that beast whenever it shows its face!]
tanabata festivals
Spotting Bakugo, he rushes up to lean into him immediately, leaning into him and grinning as he looks at the stall in front of them - some kind of dango, and other assorted little sweets and candied goods. ]
Dandelion! Look at all this stuff! Isn't it cool?
[ Enthusiasm, thy name is Yuji Itadori. ]
no subject
Only to blink when he's bumped into and leaned on. Just one second and-]
Oy! You trying to melt me or something?! [It's hot as balls out here and Yuji's shoved all up on him. Not that he's knocking the guy's block off or anything. The sorcerer gets a shoulder nudged into his chest, both as a grumpy "off" and as a gruff "hello" in response. Katsuki sticks near him regardless, eyes taking a run down of Yuji's outfit. He looks good in white.]
Aa. Here. [And hands Yuji a strawberry tanghulu. The hard sugar coating on the outside makes a fun crunch and crack before the juicy fruit inside mixes with it.] You'll like it.
[Katsuki's needed this boy's energetic pick up for a while. It's nice to have a Yuji refresh.]
no subject
[ Yuji is used to Katsuki being a loudmouth and shouting about things even if he doesn't mind them, though, so he takes no heed of it. Instead, he just lets himself give him a quick hug in greeting before he steps back and gives the other boy space. It is really warm, and if he was less of a weirdo about wearing hoodies, then he might be melting as well. His yukata is actually a lot more comfortable in this heat.
With a bit of space between them, Yuji can wrap his arms behind his head, sighing softly. ]
It's nice to do something a little fun, isn't it?
[ Woah! A treat!
Yuji reaches out and takes it, grinning. ]
It's strawberry, of course I'll like it. Thanks! Do you want anything?

The digital wishes are a neat effect to see, but no substitute for the real thing. That's why he's delighted to see someone not just writing a wish on a real piece of paper, but who's doing it, too.
Quietly, Raidou slides up next to wherever Bakugo has sat to write his wish. He's dared to wear a yukata that isn't all black, amazingly. In his hands are a half-finished helping of takoyaki, and his prize from one of the game stands - a Denji plushie. Seems like they're catching on. Raidou was of course too polite to turn it down.]
Have any more paper?
no subject
The strong scent of bamboo wraps around the shrine grounds, mingling with other plants in a strange undertone struggling to compete for olfactory recognition. Conscious of the plant he's tying the wish to, Katsuki uses a light string with some give, enough to keep it between the leaves, but not enough to make pulling it off difficult for the shrine workers.
He closes his eyes, sending off the wish with a silence request. In the darkness, another presence moves beside him and he opens his eyes, finding a familiar companion nearby. Wow, Raidou's managed to discover a color other than black. Is he feeling alright?]
Aa. A few more. [He holds his hand out, gripping five fanned-out strips of paper between his thumb and curved index.] Heh, Ripcord Pec's never gonna live this one down.
[He wonders if this checks off one of Denji's boxes for wanting to be famous.]

It's weird, isn't it? To win a doll of someone you know. They're getting quite popular. Wasn't expecting to see them outside the base.
[Should Outsiders really be getting famous? The whole idea does seem a little preposterous, and it makes him smile slightly.]
I'm glad that last time, all we got was personalized ramen. Not sure I could stand to see my face on a doll or pachinko machine.
[While he's thinking of a wish, he slides over the remaining takoyaki to Katsuki.]
Here. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, in this heat.

4.3 Monsoon - Rainy Day Hero
When the storm calms down he is right out there with the other. Did he look drenched, possibly. As for telling him to calm the fuck down? No, he wouldn't. Sending out three of the shadow creepers, wolf-like creatures, to overturn debris and get it out of the way. That? It's very doable, as long as his stamina keeps up. The moment it doesn't then the creatures would disappear.
Sure, he could probably drag out Bahamut but that he would leave for the kaiju if it showed up. ]
no subject
When it's cleared up, that gives him ample time to strike out and vent. As the smoke clears from another explosion, Bakugo notices something flash through the cloud, eyes narrowing on a wolf-like creature as it plows into a chunk of debris. What the fuck? He twists around further, looking behind him until he finds Kadaj standing nearby. So this guy has more powers than he showed originally. Tch... bastard's full of surprises.]
Take care of that road to the right. [He indicates it with his hand.] We need that clear for the trucks.
no subject
Fingers brush hair away from the cat-like green eyes before he starts moving his own set of debris, even if the shadow creepers were doing decent work on their own. ]
Very well.
[ He would leave one of the shadow creepers to help Bakugo before turning toward the road to the right. Calling the other two shadow creepers to himself he starts in on the road indicated to start clearing it out. To make way for whatever trucks the other was talking about. ]

2: Tanabata, shrine
At first he doesn't even notice who it is who's joined him, instead being entirely focused on ensuring each and ever slip of paper is secured with perfect knots in case of any wind gusts or storms that might make an appearance in the upcoming days. Only once he's about halfway through placing half a dozen wishes on grasses does his eyes wander enough to catch Bakugo tying on one as well. It's enough to make him smile softly before speaking up, tone even.]
You prefer old-school traditions too, huh?
no subject
Bakugo didn't even see Yato there when he arrived in the grove, the darkness of the evening making it less visible for someone wearing a dark yukata. He recognizes him more from the sight of that ragged scarf around his neck, light in color, than anything else. Something about this traditional aspect seems to resonate with Yato. Like he's used to it, or fitting for it... Because he's a god. They did talk about that the initial few weeks Yato was here.
He finishes tying one more to the bamboo, being rather sparse with his. Only bought six strips. It's not like he's gonna get one for each member of his class and each teacher and each Pro Hero. Sheesh.]
No. The digital way just feels cheap. [That's his excuse at least.]

Not just for him, but for Dearka as well. As his best friend, his most trusted partner, his right hand man, Yzak knows a good deal of his own accomplishments are thanks to those who support him, have his back and lend him strength. And Dearka has that more than anybody.
He happens to pass Bakugo (and Yzak is always up and out and about around the base so he knows his teammates by face and by name if they're not brand new by now so the same can be assumed about him - he's always busy and on point with this) and peeps to see the edges of the boxes in the bag he carries. And he feels that ego of his inflate a little because wow he's so cool ... him and Dearka are SO cool. ]
It's going to be weird seeing those around everywhere.
sorry not sorry at all
Bakugo flicks his gaze to the side when someone interrupts his walk. He recognizes this guy. Yzak. The only reasons he does is because Dearka showed a picture when they interacted in Vegas, then saw him around base. Otherwise, he would've just recognized the gundam. (And lets be real, they probably have a picture of Yzak on his gunpla model box.) Does that mean he's gonna say that? NOPE!
Without slowing his pace-]
No shit. I'm just gonna build the cool one.
[And taps Dearka's Buster model in indication. Oh yeah, totally doing this on purpose. But hey, Yzak just called it "weird" didn't he.]

2; Fireworks - Now that I have my computer back hopefully forever.
"You're who I hoped I'd see today." It's not an admission it's a statement, but he sits peacefully otherwise. What's the point of worrying where to sit when anywhere will do. For now, he's quiet, enjoying the fireworks and wishing they could be real. Or that Bakugo could join in. That would be a spectacle for sure.
behave computer!
But this time, the nostalgia of the moment and the memories of home make Shoto's presence a quiet welcome. Familiar and comforting to be around. The difference and similarity isn't lost on him either, striking an weird discord between the two.
"Haa?" What weird way to say that! "You could've just called where to meet." Didn't need to come find him. But find him he did, and Bakugo spent the day with his classmate. Despite the obvious arguments and blowups that occurred, he's glad to have Shoto with him.

003, Everlight fun
Crowd control. Bakugo's yelling can be heard from a mile away as an argument breaks out. Godzilla's breaking away from checking their supplies to slipping out from behind the booth. Like some bad tempered ninja he's at the customer's side in a blink, his hand on the man's shoulder, grip tightening meaningfully, eyes narrowed. ]
Enough. You will apologize and accept what we have to offer. If you disagree you can return to the back of the line or be removed entirely. [ He looks to Bakugo, trying to raise a single eyebrow. He kind of manages it, the other keeps wandering up despite his efforts to keep it down. ] This is a "fair solution", is it not?
no subject
But that can be handled later, when Bakugo's not suddenly finding the human-clad lizard appearing out of nowhere beside the irate customer to try and mediate some peace. Seriously? Does he think that's needed? If he's going to be their guard dog, bare some damn teeth or something! Bakugo had half a mind to blast this bastard in the face before Godzilla showed.
The customer's protesting the lack of extra sauce on the takoyaki balls, though seems to quiet a little more once this man adds his weight to the conversation.]
What the hell are you asking me for? [Bakugo holds the paper "boat" in hand, sauced as evenly spread as the rest he's handed out. His glare rests entirely on the customer.] Either pay for it or get the fuck outta line.
[It only takes a few more seconds for the man to cut his losses and accept the fair solution. Aka: food. Bakugo scowls after him, then clicks his tongue in irritation before looking at his fellow Everlight member.] Bastard doesn't know what ration means.

everlight delight (goldfish)
Tsurumaru is quick to swoop in, plucking the fish from the child and returning it to the water.)
Now, now, there's no reason to be upset.
(And he hands the kid another paper paddle to try,)
It's because the game is difficult, right? It must seem impossible. Bakkun, get me another scoop.
(He'll take care of things. Don't worry.)
no subject
But before he's able to rip this bratty ass apart, a rush of white and gold sweeps like a fucking heron and the fish is back in the water, with a familiar voice offering some chiding words.
Yeah, no.]
You better be talking to the brat!
[... which one? Bakugo's about to resist the offer of another paddle, but then scowls and lowers his hand when Tsurumaru takes over the decision. Tch! Fine. He crosses his arms over his chest, eyeing the kid like a hawk.]
Don't you dare coddle him. [But he gets the sword another scoop.]

"I want to go home." "I want to become a professional duelist." "I want to get sponsored by a good company like Kaibacorp or Industrial Illusions." "I want to pay back my brothers." "I want to see Asuka again." "I want to see Juudai again." "I want to duel Juudai again." "I want to--"
Eventually he gets annoyed and decides to forego the electronic method of putting together a wish, and instead turns to Bakugo to ask--]
Hey, do you have another one of those paper slips I could write on instead?
no subject
Spending the cool evening with Manjoume had been interesting. Most of their time together was plagued by battles, fighting, stupid shenanigans, or other interference that left them loud and at each other's throats. This time, however, was far more peaceful. Perhaps due to the nostalgia of the festival and the weight of wanting to return home.
He passes over a slip of paper without looking.]
Told you.
