The decision has been made. LILITH Japan orders the Outsiders to mobilize to pursue the Imugi.
Given that they are in a foreign country, they are largely dependent on LILITH Koreaโs resources. In response to the decision, the Korean branch provides some assistance: the Outsiders are given just enough vehicles to help transport them, essential supplies, and only a few operatives to help guide them. This is the most the Korean branch is able to give, as they must focus on relocating people and restoring peace following the attack.
LILITH announces that the Imugi is currently resting near Gangneung on the east coast and they must move quickly. The effects of Rift poisoning will grow stronger as they approach the source; a sign that they are close to a kaiju. Upon reaching the mountains just outside the city, LILITH informs them that they are right on top of its location.
However, there is no Imugi to be found. After searching the area, Outsiders will discover the source of the trace and the poisoning: eggs. They will find about twelve eggs. When they report their findings, Seokdang will curse. In their rush, they had followed the wrong trace. They didnโt track down an injured and resting Imugi—they tracked down the Imugiโs nest. So where is the Imugi?
Not long after, Outsiders will receive an update on their implants: the Imugi reappeared in Seoul. After seeing the corpse of its mate, it went berserk and attacked the city again. While many of the citizens were evacuated to nearby Incheon and remaining shelters, just as many perished, with the death toll at 168,000 and rising. LILITHโs Korean base is destroyed.
The Imugi was last seen flying north, but the Korean government prohibits the Outsiders from pursuing it again through their territory. By choosing to pursue the kaiju, the Outsiders have abandoned humanity and thus will receive no further support. They are ordered to leave the country immediately.
LILITH Japan will order them to collect as many eggs as possible and continue to the abandoned city of Gangneung, where they will arrange pick up and return to base in Tokyo.

After failing to capture the second Imugi and also failing to save a large portion of Seoul's population, characters will be shipped back to Japan. The events of the TDM will springboard from there. Feel free to use this post to thread out any aftermath threads if you would like.

That is what I want from this world, you know. The little people to fight. To not just accept this and not put their head in the sand. Maybe between us, we can change something. It would be better than only accepting, and fighting, like it is an endless, ceaseless shield against their doom.

[ Marcille had seen Ishmael on the network before, defending her position with confidence, stalwart as a cliffside against a roaring sea. Marcille has seen her sick, happy, relaxed, annoyed, but not worn down to pieces in this way. It's a sign of trust, which is both heartening and extremely disconcerting. It doesn't seem like something Ishmael would do easily or in front of anyone else.
More often than not, Marcille has been the one breaking down on other people about what's been going on. With Ishmael, though, it feels reciprocal. They look out for and take care of each other in equal measure, Marcille thinks. If they both have to be miserable, they can do it together—and at least in this moment, Marcille can hold it together long enough to be strong for one of her closest friends. ]
Of course you'd be stressed after everything that's happened, even if you are used to it somehow. It's just awful no matter what.
[ She wants to ask about that someday—why Ishmael would be used to tragedy like this.
Whether or not Ishmael hugs her back, Marcille gives her a small squeeze, like it would somehow tighten and release all of that stress from her body. Then she just continues holding her. They'll have to leave eventually, but they need a moment or two. (This isn't the first time someone's broken down in a convenience store. The cashier seems aware of this and isn't paying them any mind.) ]

Watching people give up their bodies seriously ticks me off. We should be thinking of ways to fight while minimizing injuries in the first place! All it does is encourage reckless decisions like going after the dragon.

[ He blinks at first, before her words click and his expression spreads into a fond smile. ]
I didn't think about it like that, but now that you say it, I can't unsee it.

[ They had been damaged in the fight a few months ago if he's remembering correctly. It doesn't look like they're causing her pain, but he also doesn't know the first thing about them. ]
[ Maybe LILITH will reconsider having made Set a socialite for his identity and retire him, putting him into therapy instead. Or maybe public works projects, since he's hypocritically invested in those ( for the world, not for people!! ). Anyways, he's only parroting the ridiculous things that Kabru initially said. ]

[ He frowns, deeply. It's a faux-frown though, because his eyes spark with amusement. ]

[ There is still something oddly comforting about commiserating with someone. Kabru and Marcille may not know each other well, but they do know the dungeon; they can relate on some level. ]
It was way easier to sleep in the dungeon after a long day of walking, and we were always careful back then to make sure we got enough rest.
[ Kabru heard Laios's conversation with Shuro, so he knows that bit. ]
So while I've been here, I would usually try some tea or go for a walk. The base can be pretty noisy though, and the city is pretty bright at night, so it doesn't always work. I just try to get enough exercise during the day so it's not a problem.
[ Marcille still eyes him with suspicion. The answer is unsatisfying somehow, but she can't find a way to respond to it. Callisto seems to do and say whatever he feels; Marcille's honest and irritated reactions seem to get his attention even more. Unfortunately she isn't a good liar.
Her hackles lower the more he goes on, though. He's being genuinely thoughtful again, and finally she lowers her eyes back down to the handkerchief in her hand. ]
