From the month of November and onward, Outsiders can find recruitment posters around the base for a specialised subsection of an anonymous Neo Tokyo security agency! Feel free to assume that's where most of the directives come from.

Current quests relating to this player plot can be found under < STREET FIGHTER > and < RISE AND THRIVE > on the QUEST BOARD.

People are free to use this log or their own for open and closed starters. However, if you'd like to contribute to the quest chain or setting changes, please remember to eventually submit your links and a summary under the associated quests! Otherwise, go wild!

[ Jinwoo barely reacts to the lecherous once-over, but in his head, he's already filed the guy under dead man walking. Not today, maybe— not even soon, really. But men like this always meet their end one way or another. For the time being, however, he plays his part.

With the slightest flex of his will, shadows curl at the edges of his form, imperceptible to the untrained eye. His features soften just enough— his jawline a little less sharp, the faint lines of experience erased. His skin takes on a subtle, youthful glow as his stance shifts into something looser, less certain.

When he looks up again, his gaze flickers between Silco and the VIP before quickly dropping, as if hesitant. Shy.

That's how he's supposed to act, right? Maybe it's a little awkward, but it does the job.

He steps forward, but tries not to make it look like he meant to be here. ]

Sorry... Was I interrupting?

[ The VIP is quick to jump in, one hand already snaking around Jinwoo's waist to pull him close. A drink is shoved at his hands almost immediately, and then the guy starts going off on how a pretty thing like Jinwoo should be more careful. He never knows when sharks will circle him like he's prey, so it's a good thing he came this way because no one will mess with him as long as he remains with the VIP.

Jinwoo asks why that is, and it's the best question he could've ever asked. Because now the guy is telling him all sorts of connections he has, like with a few infamous gangs.

Jinwoo tries to get him to spill names, but he's being urged to drink first. He teases that he'll only do it if the guy does it first, and there he goes— so now he has to follow suit. It's a good thing he can't get drunk because he can drink as many times as this guy wants if that will get him talking. ]

[ The man had been plenty pliable as it was, Silco was sure he could have maybe gotten something, but it would have taken time. Lots of time, and building trust. He was losing patience for re-establishing himself. Over, and over, it seemed, he continuously found it slipping through his fingers, and he was sick of it.

Does this world matter? No. He should just put something together and take them apart from the seams. This slow, meandering path makes him feel an impatience he thought was left at the bottom of the Pilt.

Jinwoo expedites it. From behind the man, he nodded, barely perceptible.

He sipped at his drink, but didn't interfere much, only occasionally prodding with a — 'Tell him about the —' or a 'I heard that —' before the man took right back up again. He helps by supplying drinks, making sure that the are handing out from his hands from the staff. Playing up the uninvolved associate.

His thin lips are in a line, but when the man's eyes (rarely) drift from Jinwoo's oddly youthful face, there's a smile there instead. His eye is covered, but oh, how it burns.
]

Why don't you two tell me when you wish me to leave, hm?

[ Ever the gracious wingman. The VIP waved his hand dismissively, since Silco was helping keep the drinks flowing. ]

[ It's difficult to resist throwing Silco A Look for those words. He doesn't need a wingman here! What is this guy trying to get at? The last thing he wants is to be left alone with an old bastard whose hands won't stop wandering now that he's getting more and more drunk.

He hates this, actually. Every second of it. The man's breath reeks of expensive liquor, his words slurring around the edges. He's pretty loose-lipped already, but not as much as they need him to be.

Jinwoo plays along, following after the openings Silco left behind to ask the right questions. He's even allowing the man's hand to brush against his arm, his shoulder— just enough to make him seem interested even when he'd rather sock this guy right in the face.

Eventually, the VIP starts talking. The alcohol helps, the ego even more so. He brags about the people he knows, the businesses who owe him favours. Certain names keep coming up again and again: Silver Altitude. Sapphire Room. The latter rings a bell so Jinwoo risks sending Silco a message. ]

Is that what we need?

[ Or do they need the guy to talk some more? ]

[ Silco's just playing a part, but he lets the man keep talking. There's a quick dart of his eyes toward Jinwoo when he starts talking about the people, the "businesses". These criminals. They're so terribly sloppy, and uncontrolled. If Finn or Renni had done something like this, he would have killed them on the spot, if not had them used as an example for the one that came after.

He should do that to this one. Maybe eventually.

He'll certainly remember his name. Perhaps he'll find reason to upend him, and have him slaughtered.

It isn't that Silco is particularly bloodthirsty, but that he knows one kind of retribution. It is absolute, and it is permanent.

Jinwoo messages him, and Silco's eyepatch covers the shimmer of his eye flaring from it. He offered him a slight, nearly imperceptible nod.

This would do.

[ Luckily, his risk pays off.

The VIP is too busy posturing that he doesn't notice the dim glow of the ocular as Jinwoo's message is received. He catches Silco's nod, and that's all it takes to dissipate the tension in his shoulders. He doesn't allow his relief to show, but it's there— just a subtle exhale through the nose, his fingers loosening ever so slightly on his glass. They have what they need, so he can start extracting himself from the situation without raising suspicion.

He lets the conversation linger a little longer, offering a few more empty reassurances. The man is too far gone to notice the shift in his demeanour, but he makes sure to play things carefully. No need to blow his cover now that they're done here.

Eventually, he leans in, murmuring something about needing to freshen up, before promising to be back soon. The man's fingers try to linger on his wrist, but Jinwoo slips free easily, his movements smooth and practiced. He doesn't look back as he heads toward the exit of the VIP section.

Now it's just a matter of waiting for Silco to follow after him. Just in case. ]
