CONTENT WARNINGS: medical content

▶ 001. WELL DESERVED REST.

With no sign of upcoming city-level threats, LILITH has made the decision to provide Outsiders with a well-deserved break: there will be no official missions for the month of December. Outsiders are free to roam the city, continue their usual civilian jobs or take a holiday to any of the locations available via data portal. During this period, LILITH leadership will also be taking time off and any attempts to contact them will be met with an ‘out of office’ return email unless it is an emergency. (Dr. Spim is still around, but … he is a cat and doesn’t answer anyway... unless he feels like it.)

That isn’t to say it’s going to be a completely quiet month, of course. Our players have kindly prepared several player plots that anyone is welcome to join. Please refer to the top level here for links to the relevant plots. An updated quest has also been listed here.

Additionally, the Outsiders Program has successfully finished its first year! LILITH will be giving all Outsiders old and new a thank you bonus of 500,000 KRYPTOS (approximately 3230 USD) to spend freely on their holiday. Try not to spend it all on pachinko!

▶ 002. LET IT SNOW.

Starting December 1st, the temperature in Neo Tokyo will take a dive as the country enters into winter. The first signs of snowfall will occur on December 1st, and as it continues, the city will be transformed into a winter wonderland. The shops and restaurants of Neo Tokyo are capitalizing on the approaching festivities, putting up Christmas lights, Christmas trees and decorations. Many stores are having sales on warm clothing and popular gifts. Isn’t it the perfect time to find some nice gifts for your friends?

While only a suggestion, it is encouraged to support the integration of the orphans from Transylvania by taking them out on a winter adventure.

Winter activities found in Neo Tokyo include:

- Christmas Winter Illuminations. Certain parts of the city will be lit up in Christmas lights and holographic, winter-themed illuminations. Stop by at the right time and there might even be a drone show to watch.
- Ice sculpture building. Artists have gathered in Yoyogi Park to showcase their latest ice sculpture creations. Outsiders may view the attraction or join in on the ice sculpture contest. Winners will get prize money.
- Ice-skating. The Yokohama Red Brick Ice Rink is open again and characters are free to go skating with their friends. As a part of its latest attraction, the ice has been fitted with microscopic nanobots that light up when touched, causing the ice to glow or showcase striking colors as people skate across it.
- Playing in the snow. Even under threat of kaiju, the people of Neo Tokyo take the time to have fun when they can. Through the streets, there are people making snow angels or pelting each other with snowballs.

Characters may visit Las Vegas, Kyoto or Okinawa using the data portals. Kyoto and Okinawa continue to be uninhabited, but they can camp there if they wish. They are free to book a hotel and enjoy their holiday in Las Vegas too, where the city will have its own brand of winter activities (winter illuminations, Christmas shows, ice-skating and holiday-themed Vegas shows). While the weather is still cold, it will be snowing in Kyoto but not in Okinawa or Las Vegas.

▶ 003. SNUGGLE UP.

All the lights and festivities happening in the city are putting some strain on the power grid, and this leads to occasional bouts of power failure during the month of December. These seem to be happening in the base and throughout the city of Neo Tokyo, and they last for a few hours each time. With hospital equipment running on back-up generators, it isn’t a huge cause for concern, but it certainly is an annoyance; especially with the weather so cold.

LILITH robots will be offering Outsiders on the base extra blankets (traditional and emergency foil blankets) along with heat packs to get through the cold. Starting a fire within the base will not be allowed since it is a hazard, so those who still need the extra warmth will need to find other creative ways to obtain it. A snuggle never hurt anyone, right? There is one operational fireplace in the Library, and Outsiders may notice an influx of small tables throughout the base with self-serve hot beverages on battery operated kettles, such as tea, hot cocoa & artificial coffee. As Outsiders congregate around the base, snuggled up in their new festive blankets, perhaps now would be a good time for some classic party games such as Never Have I Ever and Two Truths and a Lie.

▶ 004. TAKE YOUR MEDICINE.

Dr. Spim takes regular cat naps anyway, so he doesn’t see the need to take a holiday. As a result, he has continued to work tirelessly on finetuning the cure for the vampiric disease. Throughout the month, he will make several requests for volunteers (those with and without the vampiric disease) to participate in the ongoing clinical trials.

The serum he is testing will not cause harm to the body, but it might result in any of the following side effects:

- Dizziness, fatigue and difficulty coordinating movement.
- Fever, chills and a desperate need for warmth.
- Mood changes, which can present as euphoric or depressed or both.
- Hallucinations or delusions.
- Increased hunger, thirst or other physical needs (interpret as you wish.)
- A ravenous need for blood (for vampires.)

Certain volunteers may encounter no side effects at all, while some may experience all of them. Luck of the draw, really. The side effects are not permanent and last for a few hours. As always, Dr. Spim will explain the possible side effects and get consent before administering the medicine.

By the end of the month, a stable cure will be finalized and LILITH robots will deliver it to all those affected by the vampiric disease (if your character was already a vampire, don't worry about it). It is highly encouraged to take the medicine! Dr. Spim has no time to chase down the people refusing to take their medicine, so he might pay some of their friends to do it for him. He is a cat. He has better things to do (such as knock this beaker off the table….)

As an OOC note, please do not let your character remain a vampire unless they are already a vampiric character. The vampire event in Transylvania was meant to only have temporary effect.

▶ 005. AFTERWORD.

Welcome to our third team building event! All tags on this log are worth 2 points and will count towards December AC.

We have a lot of player plots this month, and are using this log to encourage players to participate in the player plots since the event itself is light. As a reminder, the mod team will be taking a break during the month of December and will not be answering any questions at this time.

EVENT BREAKDOWN/RECAP (CLICK TO EXPAND)

1. WELL DESERVED REST: Outsiders enjoy a quiet month with no kaiju attacks, but are provided plenty of things to do (via player plots) and they are welcome to use the data portal to travel to Okinawa and Las Vegas at this time.

2. LET IT SNOW: Heavy snowfall turns Neo Tokyo into a winter wonderland with many snow related activities to participate in such as ice skating, ice sculpture making, etc. LILITH encourages the Outsiders to allow the misplaced orphans to participate in some of these activities.

3. SNUGGLE UP: The power outages strike again, this time from too many festive lights that overheat the generators. LILITH provides Outsiders with emergency blankets and hot beverages during times of outages.

4. TAKE YOUR MEDICINE: Dr. Spim trial runs an antidote for the vampiric disease that struck Outsiders during their mission in Brasov. He takes volunteers who are both vampires and not. Finally, a cure is made, and all Outsiders are asked to take it (please do not let your character remain a vampire unless they are already a vampiric character.)

❄️ 1. ICE SCULPTURES

[After having heard about the ice sculpture contest in Yoyogi Park, Yato hurries down to sign up for it, bringing along all his weapons plus a plethora of knives and tools that might prove useful. During the allotted time he spends a good portion of it piling snow up high to about six feet before beginning to work out a blocky shape that eventually, after much effort and hard work, becomes a shrine bearing his name.

It's even hollowed out inside to accommodate some lights to make the front glow beautifully, making it look inhabited. Proud of his work, he stands off to one side with his sleeves rolled up and hands on hips, admiring his handiwork with a grin.]

Not too shabby, if I do say so myself!

[And then he starts working on a larger-than-life sized ice figure of Hiyori. Complete with striped panties and tail. Because he just be like that. Idiot or artistic integrity? You decide.

Feel free to interrupt him at any point during his sculptures' construction!]

☃️ 2. SNOW ANTICS

[Always one for indulging in a bit of play, during the day Yato can be found outside in winter gear throwing himself into snowdrifts with a shout, rolling down piles of snow, and otherwise just getting up to mischief.

Such as how he tosses snowballs at random passersby, pointing and laughing as they nail their target before ducking down to try hiding from any potential retaliation. He's hardly the most stealthy, though, so sometimes the top of his head sticks up enough that someone with good aim could probably get a clean shot in on him...

Or making snow angels out in the middle of the paths where the snow is smoother and less deep. Never mind the fact he's getting in the way of everybody and making them walk around him with annoyed looks on their faces.

Then he's making snowmen of all the people he knows, using all manner of props. Among the recognizable people is a spiky-haired person wearing a mask, a girl with twintails, a lizard that is distinctly Godzilla, a woman doctor with a tail, and others, so feel free to have your character spot their likeness among the snow army he's built!]

🔥 3. SNUGGLE UP

[With the power going out so frequently, Yato's decided to just. Bring a handknit blanket anywhere he goes on base. Off to the cafeteria? Blanket. A trip to the spa? Blanket. Eventually he's opted to follow suit with a lot of other Outsiders and take up residence in the library by the fireplace, wrapping in - you guessed it - his oversized blanket.

Sniffing a bit from the cold affecting his nose and making it run, he glances around at everyone else there before fetching a hand out to point around at the others, while the he holds a hot toddy in his other hand.]

We should play a game! How about Never Have I Ever! That's a fun one! I'll start: never have I ever attended school regularly.

[ supportive girlfriend that she is, hiyori goes to visit the ice sculpture contest when she finally has the time from her ~civilian job~

his entry sticks out so he's easy to find. easy enough, anyway. it's a life-size version of her mini shrine. how could she miss it?

for now, she hasn't noticed the GIANT HIYORI he's working on next because she's so in awe of the recreation of her shabby, DIY shrine. ]

[Good girlfriend, best girlfriend~ That's one of the main reasons he chose to honor her wonderful shrine in ice form. That and it was a simple enough shape to practice with before moving on to the main event of Hiyori herself.

Upon hearing her voice he quickly takes a break in order to hurry over and give her a hug and a quick peck on the cheek before planting both hands on his hips and nodding enthusiastically.]

It is pretty good, isn't it? Hehe... I felt inspired by your love~

[ soon as she sees him rushing through the snow to get to her, she opens her arms and catches him with a soft laugh. he's a bit chilly from being outside for so long, so she rubs his back to warm him up before he slips back and she's putting her hands in her pockets.

[Being embraced in her warmth has him humming happily, as does the rubs. It's a much needed reprieve from the cold after having been outside for hours without a break, and he's tempted to drag her off for something hot to drink.

But he wants her opinion on ice!Hiyori first, since that's what he's most proud of. Because it's her. His goddess in sculpture form.]

Sure did! That's why it's so huge - to contain my love for you. [What a ham.]

Just a few embellishments for flavor. Yours is still the best shrine, naturally. But who knows, maybe some spirit or other small god will take up residence in it.

[Maybe a capyper god, heh. Beaming, he starts subtly inching closer to his second sculpture, rubbing his hands together to warm them.]

[Alas, poor Hiyori's sanity shall be tested on this day. Because Yato is Yato and that means being a absolute fanboy for his girlfriend. Anything to honor and exalt her!]

That would be too cool, I gotta admit. [Great minds(?) think alike!

Though they're probably divided on the white elephant looming over them... Not that you'd be able to tell with how eager he seems for her to take note of his hard work.]

[ After getting done with her work at the shrine Kaga's decided to take a jaunt down to the park to appreciate the artistic talents on display. She looks almost respectable, wearing her miko robes that hide her prosthetic and not walking around with ears and a tail. You could almost mistake her for a kind hearted maiden!

She was surprised to see Yato working away! Pleasantly surprised by the artistry and care he's displaying! That shrine really is something else, and that sculpture of Hiyori! She's only seen the girl in indescretly posted photographs but my what a spitting image, tail's a little weird tho-... he did not seriously model his girlfriend's panties onto an ice sculpture. That he's displaying in public.

That kind hearted maiden thing...? Well, she's Kaga. She proceeds to march right up to Yato from behind and grab him firmly by the ear, expression stone faced, tone flat. At least she does him the favor of using her real hand and not the super-robot one, she wouldn't want to accidentally rip anything off.

Yet. ]

Honestly, Yato-chan. Can you even help yourself?

I would be disappointed if it didn't...

[There Yato is, hard at work, sculpting those beautifully curved lines into ice!Hiyori's... uh, bottom, when all of sudden there's something painful latching onto his ear, pulling him away from his work with a surprised yelp. He stumbles sideways a couple of paces, trying to get a view of who the hell has the gall to interrupt him--

Oh.

That explains it.

This is almost tame for Kaga, so he takes his lumps with sagging shoulders and a full-fledged pout that makes him look younger than he is. Like a kid who's been told he's been naughty for putting his hand in the cookie jar, although mostly just disappointed for getting caught.]

Uh. Hi, Kaga. How's it hanging...? You're looking nice today. [......] Can I have my ear back now?

[ How's it hanging. How's it hanging?! She should've used the augmented arm and just flung him off into a snow drift, a lesson learned for another time.

The look Kaga gives him goes from flat to Dangerous. Her eyes literally flash with a spark of fire, subtle so only he sees it, and her lips pull back to revel her fangs. She's taking her medicine like a good fox of course, but it hasn't quite set in yet! ]

Hmm, maybe in a bit. I haven't decided if I'm going to eat you or not yet. [ Literal, Not Playful, No Subtext. She will drink you like a milkshake... ]

Let's hear it. Why on earth did you decide it was a good idea to carve underwear onto that thing?

[That might have gotten the message through his thick skull a bit more, it must be said.

Though certainly the glare she levels at him, complete with fangs, does a pretty good job instead. It makes him freeze up, what little bit of fidgeting he had been doing ceasing as he finds his footing. He promised Hiyori he wouldn't die, but this seems like a close call...]

Ah... H-Hehe... I don't think I'd taste very good, honestly... [It's a pathetic attempt to deter her, but it's worth a shot?]

B-Because that makes it accurate? .....and it's a fun little treat for anyone who thinks to look.

[ Yato really does bring out the full spectrum of emotion out of Kaga. She goes from glaring to pure exasperation the more he talks. How can one guy be this thick...? ]

And you want that sort of person looking up your girlfriend's skirt? You do realize how that seems?

[ It seems weird! And like the sort of thing you shouldn't be displaying to the public at large!!! Come on Yato, let that brain cell bump against something and have a reaction.

Maybe twisting his ear a little will help? She give that a try, it might not make his brain work but it sure does make her feel better.]

[Years and years of practice, honestly. Or rather, a complete and total lack of practice. He's still new to this whole "boyfriend" thing and tends to think with... well. Pretty much nothing some days.]

[Silence. Like he's just seen the light, which in a way he has, especially when Kaga decides to try turning on his brain by twisting his ear some, making him yelp and lean towards her in the hope of easing some of the pain.]

I-I just wanted people to be able to appreciate Hiyori in all her gloryyy-- Owowowow~ That smarts...!

[But at least it seems to have kickstarted his brain a little bit? Because he begins to look more rueful the longer he glances at his (admittedly pervy) Hiyori sculpture.]

H..Hey, you sell what you've got, right?

[He's slowly coming to terms with her teasing him over that whole fiasco, to the point where he can admit that it was kinda funny in that 'whoopsie' sort of way.]

(A blanket is an excellent idea but Tsurumaru's approach to everything is to wrap himself up in layers. He has a dark under layer, his white kimono, a large haori, and then fluffy socks to keep him warm. It makes him look bigger than he really is and he seems warm when he shuffles around the base with his arms in his sleeves,)

Cold, cold...

(Maybe he'll go back to his room and hide under the covers he thinks when he hears Yato. He's quick to smile and accept the drink,)

Ah, I know this game!

(And, well... he has never been to school in his life. )

[It's an abominable Tsurumaru! Or at least that's what he looks like in so many layers on top of one another. Always glad of the company, Yato beams at him and takes up his own drink again, using the hot mug to warm his fingers as he leans in to do the same with his nose.]

Wanna play, then? There's not much else to do with the power out, huh?

[That makes them a pair of outliers, at least from some of the other Outsiders. Shivering slightly, he rubs his own fuzzy sock-covered feet together. Chilly...]

(Nodding fastly... Tsurumaru is always down for a good time.)

Right! It's better to spend the time having fun instead of nothing at all!

(One of the worst Tsurumarus you can meet is a bored Tsurumaru.)

The last time I played, everyone was human, too.

(Which makes the game a little less interesting when you're an old spirit like him. They just have different experiences.)

[That instantly perks Yato up! He'd just been about to falls into a Mood from being so bored and cold.]

Exactly! Why waste the time you've got when there's things you could be doing!

[He nods along, amused by the thought of Tsurumaru basically beating all the young whippersnappers to the punch.]

It should be interesting with a couple of us old farts, then, heh. So I guess it's your turn!

[He's curious to see what they'll come up with, honestly.]

(It is his turn and he takes a second to think. To be honest, he doesn't know Yato very well so he can only take guesses...)

Never have I ever... pulled a kitsune's tail.

(And he starts off with bullying innocent animal spirits.)

[Spot on, Tsuru, spot on. There's something of a sheepish look from Yato at that, though he narrows his eyes suspiciously at him, too, wondering if a certain lady kitsune has gone tattling on him.]

Welp, guess that means I gotta drink!

[And he seems so heartbroken about that... Down the hatch!]

🔥 3. SNUGGLE UP

[Despite getting off to a rough start with the spa his first time here (the damn thing didn't have any fucking robes; you had to go BUY YOUR OWN), Bakugo's come to relative piece with the extravagant existence. He's far more welcoming to the library since that has more improvement offerings compared to little more than indulging in a spa. Plus past-Nanami's books were stored in there. But every now and then a trip to the spa wasn't horrible. He prefers to frequent the one on the outskirts of town, supportive of the old couple who runs the place, yet having one close to base can't be denied...

Relaxing in the hot water, head dropped back on some of the stones, he's caught the place at a rare nigh-empty time, likely due to the later evening when others are either at dinner, hanging with friends, or otherwise occupied. So hearing footsteps breaks his trance and a red eyes opens with a half-glare towards whoever dared interrupt him.

Tch, he recognizes that combination of icy eyes and shadow mop... and...]

Why the fuck do you have a blanket?

[It's an onsen!]

[Bundled up like a blanket monster that's come to life, Yato skulks his way towards the main hot spring, shivering despite the hot air. He's been outside all day working on ice sculptures, running errands, and otherwise enjoying the winter season to the point the cold itself seems to have seeped into his bones. Everything he's tried from hot drinks to wearing three layers has been futile to shake off the chill. So now it's time to try something drastic.

Upon be interrogated as to his attire - at least he doesn't have shoes or socks on - he lifts his head nobly and declares like it's perfectly obvious:]

Because I'm cold.

[And then he promptly lets loose a sneeze that almost seems strong enough to make the water quiver from the force of it. Somebody's gone and gotten himself sick, the idiot.]

[A soon to be soggy blanket monster if he keeps toting around that mass in the steamy air. Bakugo scowls at the shambling mound of fabric, not even wanting to know what kind of hairs or threads are falling off on the floor for some gross mop ups later. Only towels and skin are supposed to be coming through those doors! After a shower. So long as the heaters are working, it won't be liquid ice while trying to wash off. Whatever the hell Yato's doing in here with that blanket... is not protocol.

He flares up at the answer.] No shit! Leave that in the locker room! [Until Yato tries blowing his nose off his own face with that sneeze. Yeah, Bakugo instantly activates the ocular's plug suit and envelopes himself in a film of energy in the water. He does NOT want to get sick this winter, dammit!]

Oy! If you're sick, get back to your room! You're gonna spread it!

[Though maybe he should stuff him in the sauna and boil the cold right out of him.... tempting.]

[Little details that he neglected to take into account given his present mental state, aka foggy brain. Maybe it'll occur to him before too long, but right now all he wants to do is reach the water where the blessed heat is. Something that Bakugo is making a touch difficult with his protesting and complaining. Because while Yato wants to feel better, he's not exactly keen on getting anyone else sick, either.

Pouting at this dilemma, he pauses near the water's edge, hesitating.] Tch... Little late for that. [It's alredy here, so what's it matter, right? Still, he shuffles back towards the locker room, bundling it up into a cubbyhole before slinking back to the hot spring. Where he regards Bakugo in his suit with a look of incredulous doubt. Seriously?]

It's just a runny nose! It's not like I picked up the flu or anything. Gods don't get sick like humans do.

[Usually. Who knows about here, though, given his immortal nature has been changed. Whatever. He's coming in! But on the opposite side from Bakugo, making sure to keep plenty of space between them. Because oh man, does the hot water feel so divine. Soaking into his very soul and taking away the chill for the first time since he's come inside.]

There. Happy?

[Great, now he's gonna shove that blanket into the locker room where it'll probably get any lingering germs on other people. Ugh, dammit, why to sickies think it's fine as fuck to walk around out in public without masks and breathe their illness all over everyone else?!

He slouches in the water with a growl and scoots off to another area while waiting for Yato to return. Fully expects him to. A winter cold, huh... with the vampirism from last month still lingering around, they don't need a bout of colds running through the damn base.]

Then why the hell do you have a runny nose? [Bakugo doesn't try to stop Yato from coming in, mostly out of consideration to his godly nature. If he's really immune to general sickness thanks to his divine status, then maybe he's not contagious? Makes him wonder what sort of sickness would infect a god. The plugsuit flickers out once Yato's encased in steam and water.

Still keeping his distance, but not chasing him out either.]

Tch. [Don't sass him. He has every right to want to stay healthy.] When'd you start feeling bad?

[Nobody said gods were the brightest of creatures. As for why, getting sick from anything besides blight is a relative rarity, so it doesn't even tend to occur to him to take normal human precautions. Besides, it's just the sniffles! No big deal. He hopes.

Either way, he dips down below the surface of the water for a few moments, soaking his head until his bangs are plastered to his face before surfacing with a relieved gasp. Showers are nice and all, but there's nothing like a soak to get out the weariness.]

Too much time in the snow, simple as that. Just like I can sweat, I can get chilled. [He wouldn't have survived living rough for a thousand years if he was susceptible to the effects of weather and illnesses like humans are. Doesn't mean he should go around sneezing on everyone, though.

Hence why he doesn't try to close the distance between them, instead turning slightly so he's not directly facing Bakugo.]

Couple hours ago. After doing my shopping and participating in the ice sculpture competition. [In other words, after freezing his ass off.] I'm sure it'll be better tomorrow.

[Provided the damn power stays on long enough for the heat to build up in his room.]
