Winter Wonderland Field Trip [Closed]
WHO: Gojo, Geto, & Hikaru
WHAT: How to Train Your Eldritch Horror
WHERE: Remote Hokkaido
WHEN: Feb 7th
WARNINGS: Spoilers for Hikaru's canon, Geto & Gojo being menaces probably
Gojo's careful not to leave it too long--this is a high priority. He doesn't want it to be the immediate next day after Suguru's birthday, but the things Hikaru told him are still weighing on his mind. If Hikaru is a danger to others--to Megumi--then they need to figure out a way to resolve that.
He wasn't surprised that Suguru wanted to see the demonstration of what Hikaru was and what he could do, but he was more surprised to hear about the request of having Suguru present for Hikaru's training. The two of them were partners, now, in mentoring and caring for the students that they'd effectively adopted, and yet somehow it hadn't yet occurred to Gojo to have Suguru present for a lesson. He'd never accepted anyone's input on his teaching methods, and it had somehow seemed like an impossible dream--even now--to get to teach with his best friend. He's excited for it, but also a little nervous about the prospect.
He'd told them both to dress warmly, since he wants this demonstration done somewhere well away from people. So he's bundled up in hat and scarf as he raps at Hikaru's door, with Suguru at his side. He leans an arm on Suguru's shoulder, and grins brightly as Hikaru opens the door.
The two of them would be an intimidating combination on anyone's doorstep. Either one has enough shonen manga protagonist energy to fill literal stadiums, charisma and power practically shining off of them. The combined force of their presence is a little like looking into the sun.
Gojo holds out a hand to Hikaru. "Ready to go?"
He doesn't necessarily wait for a response, only until Hikaru's hand makes contact with his own, and then teleports.
They reappear mid-air above a snowy forest, on the banks of a frozen lake. Gojo drops them swiftly down to the shore before he lets go and gives them both a chance to adjust to their new environs. The ruins of an old house sit partway up a hill just behind them, and the lake stretches still and quiet out in front of them, heaped with snow at the edges but with the icy surface of it windswept until it's mostly clear, like a enormous private skating rink.

"I think you're supposed to give people more warning that that, Satoru."
He lets his gaze shift to Hikaru, something almost calculating in his expression. Their first conversation had been fraught, but surprisingly it ended with little bloodshed. He still doesn't exactly know how to handle the boy, nor what he says he is. But this isn't his decision, and he's ... interested. Both in what Hikaru can do and what he has missed of the adult Satoru has become. Inserting himself into business had been easy, even if he's mostly here to observe.
"You're going to have to get used to that, Hikaru-san." Still his voice is friendly enough, boots crunching on the snow as he takes stock of their surroundings. His breath mists and he smiles like he's a placid creature. "How are you doing?"
Because someone has to remember their pleasantries.
Sorry, work emerg that's hopefully dealt with now.
The knock on the door comes almost abruptly even if he's been watching the time tick by. Jacket, scarf, gloves, hat. All ready before he opens the door and they're standing there like a practiced boyband shot. His head turns toward the room to his right, then puts his hand out so that he can take Gojo's. He's not expecting to just be yanked into reality in somewhere else. Whereas these guys might be used to it, he is not and it makes him dizzy to be suddenly somewhere else.
He lets go of Gojo's hand and puts his own to the side of his head as he tries to let the dizzy sensation pull back like a slow veil. Used to it? "I'll figure it out. I'll get used to it, Sensei." He says to Geto, who is Sensei if he likes it or not. Taking a breath or two, Hikaru starts recalibrating the body to take the feeling in its stomach under control. He breathes out, slowly. "'m alright." He says, standing up, looking at both of them, taking a moment to breathe in and out again. "...Alright, now what?"

The kid handles it just fine, making Gojo proud.
He keeps his arm on Suguru's shoulder, leaning his weight heavily into him to make sure he stays close. They're a unit, but more importantly he wants to be able to keep Infinity around Suguru, since they're assessing Hikaru as an allegedly significant threat.
"Well, possible interlude if anyone wants to be excited about walking on a frozen lake," Gojo suggests. He knows that Hikaru mentioned being from the mountains, but most of the mountains in Japan don't get consistently cold enough for lakes to freeze over in the winter. Not anywhere south of Hokkaido, anyway. "But aside from that, then let's get right to it. I want to see the truth of you, and get a better understanding of what it is that you struggle to control."
