▶ 001. GET ALONG PROMPT

LILITH is highly invested in the physical and mental well-being of its employees. A happy and connected workforce is a strong workforce, after all. However, SYNTHIA has picked up on many instances of discontent between Outsiders - people being blocked by each other on LINE, or teetering on the edge of having a fight (you know who you are and so does SYNTHIA, surprise!) That just won't do. Outsiders who cannot get along will fail miserably when it's time for teamwork. That is why this month's team-building exercise aims to spread positivity amongst the Outsiders. We all gotta get along in the middle of a crisis.

Whether you are looking someone in the face, texting them, or staring at their profile on the network, you receive a prompt from SYNTHIA, followed by an image (exactly as pictured, Shutterstock watermark and all):

"LILITH promotes a positive working environment. Why don't you pay this Outsider a compliment or do something nice for them? Or else :) Noncompliance will result in disciplinary action."

True enough, ignoring the prompt a total of 5 times will result in characters being transported to their rooms and put under house arrest - ahem, time out for a total of 2 days. It doesn't hurt to play along, right? As a note, the prompts become especially persistent when you're faced with someone you dislike. Should Outsiders try to leave their room during this time, they will find the automatic doors do not open the typical way (retina scan and thumb print.) They are trapped! Perhaps asking SYNTHIA for some mercy with positive compliments directed her way will do the trick (it won't, bu you can try!) Remember, Outsiders can speak to SYNTHIA anytime. She's everywhere all the time. Consider her your prettier Alexa. In fact, she might be flattered by that compliment.

▶ 002. TEAM ACTIVITIES.

You've had your fun back at the MAIN BASE. Now it's time to work. Outsiders will be sent back out towards Tokyo Bay while LILITH's research crew continues to try and detect the source of the strong waves. The city is in disarray after the tsunami, with the less secured buildings torn down and many lives lost. Morale within Neo Tokyo is at an all time low even with civilians comforting one another. Each Outsider will receive a small mission brief marked in the colours of their respective team as they are once again flown via helicopter to the designated area.

REDEMPTION:
Outsiders within REDEMPTION are tasked to spread joy in the streets and at the hospital. Be creative in how you wish to do this, whether it's putting on a performance, a skit, or spreading kindness with gifts and sweet gestures. Those with a Style Upgrade are encouraged to use their chip to don funny and eye catching costumes to entertain the civilians. Those with a healing upgrade are highly encouraged to help medical staff.

REVELATION:
Outsiders within REVELATION are tasked with babysitting duties. Many parents are still recovering in the hospital and there's no one to watch their children while they recover. A lot of pets need looking after too! Make sure the children and furbabies are fed, clothed and getting enough sleep. This can even include filling in for classrooms that have recently lost their teacher. Outsiders in REVELATION are encouraged to keep a tally of the census and go looking for lost children if someone seems to be missing.

EVERLIGHT:
Outsiders within EVERLIGHT will be tasked with keeping the people fed and the local businesses running. This can mean organising a soup kitchen, preparing homecooked meals for the civilians and delivering hot meals door to door. It can also mean helping local businesses with repairs to their shops, bringing them supplies and filling in for the staff they might have lost. The city might have just been hit with a tsunami, but that doesn't mean it needs to shut down!

BRIMSTONE:
Outsiders within BRIMSTONE are the luckiest of the lot - they get to be clean up crew. They will be mandated to wear hazmat suits in outrageous colours along with breathing gear. Why? Because they will be scrubbing the whole place of rubble, dirt, debris and corpses. Yes, corpses. Outsiders within BRIMSTONE will be given a census and tasked with identifying any dead body they find. They will then need to transport the corpse to the nearest LILITH disposal truck on a stretcher, where LILITH will cremate it properly. Note that they will be some survivors in the mix, so be prepared to administer first aid and conduct rescue operations accordingly.

Within certain parts of the city (the sewers, in particular, which have flooded with water), the natural flora seems to have been poisoned by a mysterious element. Toxic, monstrous plants are coming alive and attacking anything they see! They bind and strangle Outsiders with their vines and sting them with their nettles. These plants need to be dealt with before they overgrow. Fire & ice works well on them.

"Good afternoon, Angels of LILITH. Please pay close attention to the brief sent to you. We have specific duties for each team. Once you have done enough work, you will be prompted to help another team with their tasks if you desire. Our research crew is searching for the source of the kaiju and we have received information it is in the ocean. Please be ready in case it makes an appearance again before we can find it. You will be staying in Moonlight Inn & 11 Hours hostel once again as we should remain close by. Thank you for the cooperation."

Outsiders will need to finish their team missions. However, if they have time afterward and want to do some overtime, they are more than welcome to help the other teams on their missions.

▶ 003. IT ISN'T OVER YET.

Those who remember the mission brief two weeks ago will know that the first shockwaves are usually the sign of an impending kaiju. LILITH is conducting their own investigations, but with a fresh and energetic workforce it only makes sense to ultilize it. All Outsiders will be given orders to collect samples and bring it back for ongoing testing. By samples, they mean contaminated fish or ocean life remains, or samples of the toxic plants appearing in the sewers.

For Outsiders braving the sewers, they will need to don the silly hazmat suits issued to BRIMSTONE for their own protection and fight off the monstrous plants to clip some samples. It's encouraged to get leaves, stems, seeds, flowers or the whole plant if you can manage it. (Note that collecting the whole plant in a sample container will result in said plant hissing and striking you through the glass.)

For Outsiders who feel like taking a swim, they will be given diving suits and ordered to take a dive in Tokyo Bay. Once in the waters, they are to hunt down and capture any contaminated fish or marine life they can find. This means tuna fish with three eyes or octopi with two heads and 16 legs. It's encouraged to capture them live, but LILITH will also accept remains or waste samples. (Note that the available oxygen in the tank is limited and attempting to swim too far from Neo Tokyo will likely result in an Outsider drowning. )

▶ 004. AFTERWORD.

Welcome to our first CR Building event! All prompts are highly encouraged but OOCly optional. Characters are encouraged to participate in their team-specific missions but can help out the other teams if they have time. Feel free to ask any event-related questions below!

[Interesting. He's never seen a spell quite like that. He gives an impressed nod.]

Thank you. Yes, it is. [While still kneeling, a vine tries to make its way towards them. Quick as a flash, Raidou draws the swords from its spot and slices it though. While he does that with perfect motion, it catches up to him fast thanks to the poison. He's probably not in danger of dying, but he sure feels woozy. One hand rubbing his forehead, he stands up slowly.]

We-- should go. I should go.

[Honestly, he's embarrassed, needing to be rescued like this.]

[ the vine is faster than he expected--- his wand put away, his only recourse would've been to cast magic without the pen out. thankfully, the sword is quicker than the plant... this time, anyway. a little too close for comfort.

a sigh of relief as he leans to the side. ]

No, we're both goin'. [ leona clicks his tongue. ] Last thing both of us need is for you to get caught again when you're a lil' wobbly.

[ he turns to look in the direction of the exit. or at least, the closest way out that he knows. ]

You gonna be dumb enough to refuse help?

...No. [That question hurts worse than the poison, really. Raidou readies his stance, sword out in the direction of the monster that isn't sure if it want to retreat or continue. That sword's no fun, but those flames really hurt.]

We can... back out. I'll keep facing it. Watch our exit.

[ it was meant to. he's not going to hold back punches when it comes to safety; besides, leona's not an endless font of magic. he's not exactly a weakling either, but he knows going hand-to-hand with something won't always be an option.

like now, for instance. ]

You got anythin' other than that weapon of yours?

Just the sword.

He wasn't really able to carry his gun in these ridiculous hazmat suits. Even so, it might not have been much help.

The plant makes one last reach fore the two, not super keen on letting a potential meal slip away. Raidou is fast enough to keep the vines away, but with the rest of the creature advancing, and him being poisoned already, that's where the problem had come from. His initial burst of speed doesn't stick in this state. Luckily, Leona's hurt it pretty good already.]

[ he's more than happy to let raidou continue to defend them both. besides, how would he learn anything if leona just blasted their enemy into pieces? he has to know who he's working with. who can be trusted. who can't. the reality is that there are plenty of very strong folks here, but strength means nothing if they don't have a good head on their shoulders!

which one raidou is, though??? ]

Ya know, you're pretty good with that thing. Shame ya had to get all softened up. Where'd ya learn?

[Raidou's always been on the reckless side when it comes to his own safety, but it's gotten worse since he arrived here. This little incident will hopefully shake him out of it a bit, though. Maybe.

His eyes dart to Leona for a moment.]

My clan. We're summoners. [As if this explains much. Concentrating is hard right now, though.]

I... suppose I am not a summoner here, though. Just a swordsman.

[ he takes a moment to fire out a burst of sparks, this time spraying out like a hose from a fingertip. the embers are bright and almost florescent, pink and red and yellow sparkles that remind the creature to stay the hell away from them. ]

Summoner? [ an eyebrow raises. ] Like what do ya summon. [ a beat, then: ] Trouble?

[ for someone? for himself? he doesn't know. either way, that's the kind of magic he's less familiar with. but it exists nevertheless. ]

[There's a huff from Raidou that might have been in the ballpark of a laugh. An amused noise at any rate.]

Yes, but we call them demons. But I arrived without them. Only my sword.

[Raidou keeps his sword up, wavering slightly but pose ready. Leona's magic is enough to convince the creature to back off the closer they get to the exit. Going out there meant certain death for it.]

You're a...mage, then?

[Raidou knows there are other kinds of magic, but from his experience, it's the demons that cast those sorts of spells for the most part. There are always exceptions to the rules, though, and so far in Neo Tokyo he's met several different kinds of mages.]

[ summoning demons? okay, now then... that does sound pretty useful. or something. ]

Then I guess you better get better with your sword. 'cause only havin' half of what you're used to isn't a good thing.

[ but surely raidou knows that.

his ears twitch inside of his suit, making the top of it also wiggle. just a little. ]

Yeah, I'm a mage. That a surprise?

I think you're right... [He's been training a lot since he got here, and now he's going to double it.]

Not really. A lot of people here have magical abilties. I can sense that. Even though it's all quite different than what I'm used to. Yours included in that.

[Finally back to the entrance, Raidou gives Leona a nod to make a break for the surface. Once back on to the street, Raidou immediately strips off the helmet of the hazmat suit to get fresh, cold air ASAP. He's sweating heavily, and now that the adrenaline from the fight has worn off, that poison is catching up to him. Leona's also treated to the very rare sight of a hatless Raidou. Couldn't really wear one when inside a hazmat suit. His hair is a little longer than one might expect under there, Raidou needing to brush it from his eyes and forehead.]

... I owe you.

[ wow. hatless raidou... he should file this memory away and keep it safe. then again, it's not like leona would ever understand the importance of said apparel nor would he care. what he does acknowledge is strength; it's not like raidou lacks that. he has the right amount of awareness. just... maybe could use some help with the whole self-preservation thing. ]

Ya don't owe me nothin'.

[ he pulls the helmet off to reveal long braids tucked away. lion-esque ears that immediately perk up. he shakes his head to properly free them. ]

Unless ya got some kind of snack on ya.

[Even back home Raidou was always getting chided for being too reckless, to eager to step in the way of danger. Even here, several people have already had to tell him to cool it down. Maybe one of these days it'll start to sink in.

That at least gets a little grin out of Raidou.]

Not on me, unfortunately. But I made a lot of the lunches back at the Everlight camp. I an put one together for you. Ah, in a bit.

[He would like to just sit for awhile first, which he does none too gracefully.]

Shame. I guess I can be patient for a lil' while.

[ he doesn't bother to sit, letting raidou catch his breath. hopefully the poison will naturally work its way out of his system, because he isn't a doctor. if it doesn't he can always carry the guy back to the base where he can get better treatment, so... ]

Makin' lunches? [ snorts softly. ] What kinda people are ya in Everlight?

[He'll be okay. He's just going to feel really woozy for awhile.

Raidou shakes his head with a weary smile.]

Yeah... Made food for both civilians and the teams, got put on clean up duty. That one's harder than it sounds. [Post-disaster cleanup is heartbreaking on many levels.] When I got done with them, I went to see how I could help the other teams. Felt bad that Brimstone alone had to...

[Not that Raidou was eager to attend to corpses, but it had to be done.]

Tch. Don't feel bad 'bout it.

[ he purses his lips. cleanup certainly wasn't a pleasant job, but he figures if any group could handle it the best, it'd be brimstone. especially when it involved bodies. it didn't really bother him that much. these weren't faces that he knew. compartmentalizing is what leona kingscholar does best.

until it, like. becomes a real big problem. ]

We all gotta do what we gotta do. Sympathy is best left for the livin'.

[ right? ]

[He shakes his head.]

I just want to help. The teams, and the people who live here. They've gone through enough already.

[He won't be helping anyone, though, if he insists on going to do things by himself. Raidou lets out a steadying breath and stands up.]

You don't have to wait for me. I promise I won't go back down there.

Nah, I'm walkin' ya back. I'm done with the rescue effort today.

[ he yawns, exposing sharper fangs as he stretches out a little, rolling his shoulders. ]

And helpin' is best done by makin' sure we all get home again. I don't plan on stayin' here longer than they need us to. They can't rely on us forever.

[ right? ]

[The mention of going home makes Raidou look pensive as he slowly makes his way towards where Brimstone is camping out.]

Right... I suppose it depends on the amount of kaiju out there. I guess we can worry about that once the first one for us shows up.

[ yeah. the first kaiju... ]

Dunno who'd be worryin' but it won't be me. And neither should ya.

[ confidence is a virtue. he can share some of his right meow. ]

[He only shakes his head lightly.]

Kaiju or not... For some of us, this is home now. Returning home is probably not an option for me. I'm sure I'm not alone among the Outsiders in this.

[ the possibilities of why someone might not be able to go back to where they're from run through his head, and some are less palatable for sure. then again--- that's not going to stop him from wanting to go home.

still. ]

Then I guess... we gotta make it safer for you too. Still, doesn't mean we need to worry.

I'll try not to. It's just been on my mind a lot, I guess. I overhear people talking about going home.

[Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Raidou's done enough dimension-hopping in his time that he doesn't think it's out of the realm of possibility. But for him, it's different now.]

...It's too soon to think about. The first large kaiju hasn't even arrived yet.

If we got brought here to fail, then that means we'd all be screwed no matter what.

[ not saying he trusts some AI to properly weigh the benefits of having various universes colliding with one another, but. it's not like he has a choice to do otherwise. especially now. ]

But in the meantime... 'm pretty sure we got a game to play.

[It's a weary one, but Raidou manages a smile.]

That's right. There's a thing I can actually look forward to.

[Another thing he can look forward to is the basecamp they've finally reached. And a long nap. That'll be the best way for him to wait out this poison.]
