WHO: everyone!
WHAT: the firefighters put out a calendar every year and guess who is getting everyone involved.
WHERE: the venue for the photoshoot, somewhere in the city.
WHEN: within the first week of their arrival.
WARNINGS: nudity or partial nudity? will update warnings as they come.

The firefighters are looking for models to assist in their yearly calendar. Last year due to some mishaps, they missed the due date for this beloved tradition in the city, and so are not looking to really make sure everything is flawless this year. Since is no error for mistakes, they are even recruiting people to model as firefighters, as well as looking for people who can act as temporary photographers— in a city as busy as this one, it isn’t always easy booking a photographer for certain time slots. 

1. As a photographer they are tasked to make the calendar spicy, but also unique! They figure one of the best selling points is variety. No more poses, the more avant-garde, the weirder even, the better! Like if your thing is posing with a carton of eggs, you do you!
2. Models are incentivized and even ranked (this is arbitrary, so I leave that all to you), so maybe this can also lift the competitive spirit of some! Or maybe you just really want to make some extra kryptos!
3. Outside of photographers and models, also looking for people who can enhance the overall experience. Do coffee runs for everyone, while also hyping or judging the models! Whatever they say fit! People can even stumble into these roles thinking they were here for a completing different reason! Or go out on an errand to come back and suddenly everyone is not as they once were.
4. Just have fun and free to make up your own scenarios! Even if it's walking in like 🧍‍♂️ I thought this was a pizza party.

Or don't, so we can actually keep this thread going. And in the name of keeping this thread going, Wriothesley is not going to leave Blade alone despite the sullen loner vibes he's giving off. Not that he's in the habit of harassing people just because he can, but there's nothing wrong with a little bit of conversation. Especially since it doesn't look like he'll be moving in line any time soon.

He raises an eyebrow, amused. ]

Those are dangerous words, you know.

1. THE JOB

_{[ A. Although Toji would rather be out killing people for money, it's hard for him to resist hoe-ing himself out for some extra cash, especially since money was so slim here on arrival. Maybe you saw him during orientation, or in the simulation, or from the festive hologram pop up ad that Kakashi made for him. Either way, he's here to barely work and get paid for it because that's what he's all about.

Maybe he's posing with you-- he has a pose that he favors a good bit, or if there's a firefighter pole around, he's going to be latched onto that. As for his outfit, he's in trousers held up by a set of suspenders that are a bit too small and nothing else. Pose with him? Tell him to stop hogging all the attention? They have gotten enough photos of him already!

B. Alternatively, he'll be by the snack table, eating what he can. He's fast, so if there was that last snack that someone might be eyeballing, he's gonna snatch it out from under their nose. ]}

2. THE BREAK

_{[ Nothing much to say here other than the fact he's sitting on the ground with his head kicked back, still in his skimpy little outfit, and... he's asleep. Passed out. Completely zonked like any freeloader would be while on the job. You're welcome to disturb him or take a nap with him. Being in the model business is hard work! ]}

3. LEFTOVERS

_{[ For the walk back home to base, Toji is going to take as much leftover food as he can, stuffing it in his firefighter pant pockets. He's got a shirt on now, at least, and he's making his way out on the streets. Maybe someone else is on their way out too and would like to be escorted back. Whether you want his attention or not, he does look over at anyone who might be nearby: ]}

Easiest job I've ever done.

_{[ because Toji doesn't do jobs unless they're hitman jobs, so.. yeah. ]}

[ She's not sure why she's been suckered into this. Free food? Sure. Money? Yeah, of course.

But knowing that a picture of her is going to be on a calendar? She's starting to rethink the whole "I don't care, it's whatever" mindset she started with. It's not so much the getup as just...being out there for others to see.

Taryon, bless him, is more of a help than he realizes. At least he's trying to talk her through it than just giving her vague direction like the photographers. ]

[ wriothesley gives his cig a Look and wolfwood's grin just turns more crooked as he blows a thin stream of smoke up above them. he's unapologetic about it; if they really didn't want him to smoke, they should've put some signs up. not that wolfwood would follow those anyway.

more importantly, he can't quite stop the laugh that bubbles up—more abrupt than he'd like. ]

Think ya need to get your eyes checked, buddy. [ the experimentation did give him a sturdier body; good bone structure, even if he looks fit but in a healthy stray dog kind of way. the serum had gotten rid of the more prominent scars he would have sustained over time, though some of the marks still remain. ] But nah, I'm not. Just looks kinda all over the place.

[ case in point, he nods to the next model getting their photos taken, cradling a carton of eggs as they dangle from a firefighter pole. ]

[Some of them have their shirts and pants partially off, which astonishes Taryon more than if they completely removed them. It's like they're in a constant state of undressing.]

I was expecting to keep all of my clothes, but... [He sighs.] You know, between here and home, I get the impression that a lot of people are really okay with being so...[He waves a hand at the scenery.] outwardly sexual. And in public, too.

[Although his friends didn't walk around their base like this - at least not when Taryon was around...]

Is there something that covers up enough? You know, the front and all? I think my smile can make up for the rest of it.

[ Chances of Wriothesley dying of lung cancer before getting eaten by a kaiju: (very) slowly rising. But Wolfwood can keep inhaling those cigarettes of his. They all have their own vices here, even if Wriothesley's hand is being forced into grabbing a cup of lukewarm coffee instead of the tea he loves so dearly.

Also his eyes are fine, thank you very much?? There are plenty (okay, maybe only a few) people that don't fit the traditional mold of burly buff man. Wolfwood could easily slide on in there if he really wanted. Though, given the current balancing act going on in front, maybe it's safer bet not to join in. ]

Glad they didn't make me do that. Would have been a waste of eggs. [ He's a boxer, not a gymnast. ] So what are you here for then? Surely there are better places to mooch food from.

[ Those sandwiches look so.....wilted. ]

[Sometimes, you need a designated provider of encouragement, and if Taryon won't get in front of the camera, he will gladly take on that assignment. His suggestions tend towards the artistic than erotic - he can't help it, he thinks about the detailed drawings of fictional characters and scenes from novels. You need character to sell a picture.

Lucy is listening, which means he's doing a good job so far.] That's great! [He turns to the photographer.] That's great, right?

[You know what, it's something. The photographer snaps this pose in case the others don't work out.]

[ It seems both Lucy and the photographer relax considerably once they've got at least one shot to go off of. She holds the pose anyway just for some extras, just in case she blinked.

None of the other props really suit the feeling aside from a decorative white lily placed in her hands. But for that one? They're all too happy to let her close her eyes. Something about a dangerous serenity.

But by the end of things? Oh, she very much looks frazzled and like she's about to bolt and hide. ]

How do others just...do that? Nonstop...

I have no idea. [Says the guy who did not change his outfit since he walked in the door.] I would think that this would go by quickly with a camera, but there's a lot of standing around for minutes.

[Taryon holds out a robe for Lucy to take.]

But it's better than sitting for hours for a portrait.

[He's been asked to clean up the scene, and he must leave Lucy for a moment. He expects her to leave and go on with her day, since she already did her work as a model, and hums to himself while he returns the props into their boxes.]

[ can't believe val is out here denying people the sack

Honestly, it's not like Blade can leave even if he wants to. Kafka told him to stay put, and like the good dog he is, he's doing exactly that, and now he has someone to talk to while waiting for time to pass him by. ]

How are they dangerous?

[ Is this man really thinking about [redacted]? Not that it's even on Blade's radar, but it could be. ]

I'm just telling you to do whatever you want.

[ That just makes his frown deepen some more.

But rather than fight her, he relents and starts to unbutton his shirt, working his way down the trail. He stops short of tugging it off when she asks if he would rather someone else help him. ]

Why would I want someone else?

[ Does she want this mystery person to die out here tonight? Because that's exactly what will happen. ]

[ Yeah, alright, he has a point there. One she acknowledges with a little nod as he hands her the robe. She doesn't feel she needs the robe, really, but it doesn't hurt to throw it over her shoulders. The body suit isn't exactly warm. ]

I guess so. [ However, she can't help but ask: ] So why aren't you in front of the cameras?

[ oh, it's sooyoung. not gonna lie, ishmael didn't think she'd take up on the offer, but it's probably because she thinks it's free... ]

No, sorry. You'll only be graced with my good company and that's that.

[ does she look like she has money, hsy (she'll think about it, tho) ]

And it wasn't that bad, I guess. I just wasn't used to that line of work, is all.

[ As a fellow redhead (sort of), Lucy can sympathize. A bit. Luckily, she convinced (read: glared at until they assented) the photographers to go with another theme. She's just glad to be taking a break from that mess for now, clad in a robe because her outfit is cold. ]

You could create the illusion of water putting out a fire. Something like blue ribbons attached to the headband. Or flowers.

[ oh hey, that sure is ishmael's next-door neighbor. she hasn't really gone out of her way to talk to the guy until now, so she may as well acknowledge him with a tilt of her head as they make their way back to the base: ]

Is it? I mean, anyone can just sit back and look pretty in front of a camera.

[ and yet she not a fan of it, with the way she wrinkles her nose at that. but hey, at least there's free food. ]

[If it weren't for the restrictions on him, the hologram or cloaking, or however it works here, people would have been able to see his scales and find even more to do with him. Right now in fact, the man currently speaking to him would have been able to see his tail flick-- but no. Right now Shalem just looks like a pale imitation of himself, and even his ears have been shortened. Still pointed, but short.]

Modeling? No, not at all. [His tone doesn't sound like a lie, but it would definitely seem like one, after his performance.

Shalem just smiles, though, with the same confidence he had while posing for the camera.]

I was merely... having some fun.

_{[ Meanwhile, Toji forgot he was sandwiched between two hot babes in the Brimstone wing, but it’ll come back to him in a minute. The tall man gives her a look over and, like always, his perceptive senses try to pick up anything about her — any notable features that maybe the average eyesight might miss, specific scents, if any kind of body heat is radiating off of her or anything else his five senses might detect.

He scoffs a little bit of laughter. ]}

Anyone can sit back, you mean. Looking pretty is a whole different game.

I just did a favor to this guy I met at the base. Said that he'd call me if he knew a way to get more cash, but...

[ gestures at. everything. ]

Honestly, I'm surprised you never tried getting a job like this before. You're practically a natural, Rodya. [ she could've been a model if the city isn't that fucked up, lbr. ]

[ Lucy's not having a fun time of things. She's too tense whether she's leaning on the thankfully not at all sharp fire axe or the fireman pole. It's not because of the outfit. She doesn't mind the bikini or the heavier than it looks fire jacket over top of it. It's just finally hitting her that people might see her on this calendar. Her.

So yeah, she's blanching something fierce and scowling instead of smiling. ]

"Not even one smile?!"

I told you...it's difficult.

[ The photographers have had enough and turn to the nearest model(-to-be) because surely someone else can help with this?? ]

"Alright, you get in there with her or something."

Wait...

[ She's regretting this entire night. The whole thing. So as soon as the shoot's over, Lucy's bailing outside. It's like ten years have been siphoned off her life for how drained she looks. ]

I'll make you a free coffee if you buy me a beer so I can forget this mess.

[ She's not expecting it to work, honestly. Her nerves are so wrecked she's attempting to make a joke. ]

I guess we can replace the ribbons with the blue ones for the meantime... Flowers might be overdoing it, I think.

[ Despite how she seems, Lucy has no problem tugging open her robe for a second to show the bikini top underneath. But for the sake of not flashing Ishmael, she ties it back into place right away. ]

Swimsuit. It's cold in here.

You needn't worry about that. The lights were warm enough. [Warm, not hot.] It felt quite like basking during a summer day.

[Because of course a man like him would consider a summer day pleasant. His serpentine features have been hidden away by the cloaking device forced on him when he left the base, even his ears are short and only slightly pointy. He wouldn't have recognized himself it weren't for his lavender hair persisting through the surface changes.

But underneath the illusion, Shalem is still the same sort of person. He still likes the warmth, is still cooler than his normal, and thus hot lights are a pleasant feeling on his skin.]

I did bundle up before coming out as well, and that should be enough to tide me over until I return to base.

[ how he already forgot the two redheads surrounding him at all times.........

as for her vitals, ishmael just seems ordinary on the surface, though he might've noticed a multitude of scars scattered across her arms as a natural result of her endless battles, and not to mention a distinct scent of sea salt -- a smell that she can never get rid of, no matter how hard she tries.

anyway, he's getting a really blank, unimpressed look for that. being called sweetheart is weird, bro. don't make this seem even weirder than it already is. ]

Well, we aren't all that gifted with good looks. So I'd say you got off better.
