WHO: everyone!
WHAT: the firefighters put out a calendar every year and guess who is getting everyone involved.
WHERE: the venue for the photoshoot, somewhere in the city.
WHEN: within the first week of their arrival.
WARNINGS: nudity or partial nudity? will update warnings as they come.

The firefighters are looking for models to assist in their yearly calendar. Last year due to some mishaps, they missed the due date for this beloved tradition in the city, and so are not looking to really make sure everything is flawless this year. Since is no error for mistakes, they are even recruiting people to model as firefighters, as well as looking for people who can act as temporary photographers— in a city as busy as this one, it isn’t always easy booking a photographer for certain time slots.


1. As a photographer they are tasked to make the calendar spicy, but also unique! They figure one of the best selling points is variety. No more poses, the more avant-garde, the weirder even, the better! Like if your thing is posing with a carton of eggs, you do you!
2. Models are incentivized and even ranked (this is arbitrary, so I leave that all to you), so maybe this can also lift the competitive spirit of some! Or maybe you just really want to make some extra kryptos!
3. Outside of photographers and models, also looking for people who can enhance the overall experience. Do coffee runs for everyone, while also hyping or judging the models! Whatever they say fit! People can even stumble into these roles thinking they were here for a completing different reason! Or go out on an errand to come back and suddenly everyone is not as they once were.
4. Just have fun and free to make up your own scenarios! Even if it's walking in like 🧍‍♂️ I thought this was a pizza party.

everyone is free to put up their top levels and tag around as they see fit. you can see it as you were messaged by someone randomly on the network about an opportunity to make additional kyptos, or they could have even found an ad. whatever works!

[ She had a jacket and they humored her with a bodysuit for exactly one picture but yeah. Bikini all the way. She hates it a lot. ]

It used to be longer...so that's not a bad idea.

[ Though she's making a point not to go to gigs like this on word of mouth only in the future. ]

[ She's so mentally exhausted that she doesn't really register that she's being spoken to. Her nerves are too frazzled, and she would love nothing more than to go back to her place and just crash. And mope. Why did she agree to this...was the money even worth it?

Oh, that guy was saying something. She wasn't listening in the slightest. ]

I'll give you a voucher for free coffee if you get me a beer. So I can forget this nonsense.

[ She doubts this will be that easy, but hey, there's a slip for just such a coffee in her hands! The manager asked her to pass them out but she...forgot. She's partially joking anyway but the beer is also just an excuse to get rid of him so she can bail. ]

[Childe hadn't intended to put himself out there as a model, but when he heard of the opportunity to earn a little extra money—in addition to recognizing a few of the faces already in attendance—the choice is easy. And throughout the photoshoot he is not only amenable to the suggestions of the photographers but surprisingly photogenic; he finishes sooner than everyone else, changing back into his clothes, sociably chatting with the staff on hand.

Afterward, he spots a familiar head of bright red hair in the crowd and makes his way over.]

Hello again, comrade. [Yes...] I'd be happy to join you for a drink.

I saw you posing earlier, [just to make this as awkward as possible] you did well! Haru, one of the makeup artists—she said it's possible our photos may be featured on the same month. Do you think we look similar? Perhaps we should have taken one together. [Scarred gingers...]

[wheft]

[ amen to that..... but anyway, back to the matter at hand. ]

You know where I can get ribbons around here, then?

The costume guy over there had a bunch. Dunno what he did with them.

[ She points over to where all the props are, but honestly? Those ribbons might've just been crepe paper for how well she remembers. ]

[wheft]

[ OH, IT'S CHILDE... or tartaglia. ishmael hasn't decided on what to call him yet. seriously, why does he have so many names?

regardless, the mere mention of posing and photoshoots has her making a face. ugh. don't remind her, man. but she will let him walk alongside her as they start moving away from the crowd after a long day of embarrassing herself. ]

Should we? Everyone's going to think that we're related or something.

[ it is rather uncanny, now that he brought it up. the red hair, the freckles, their battle proficiency... it'd be easy to mistake them as siblings if nobody knew the wiser. but that's weird to think about with some guy she just met, tbh. ]

At least you're having fun. I'm never taking this kind of job again if I can help it.

Ah. All right.

[ she's getting ready to leave, but after thinking it over, she walks over to lucy and grabs her wrist. ]

Of course, you're coming with me.

[saudadist]

[ Lucy should react faster, all things considered, but she freezes as Ishmael's suddenly in her space. Her whole body locks up at being touched, as if she's suddenly been struck with a live wire. ]

Don't- [ She coughs out the order, but it sounds more geared toward herself as her vectors reflexively writhe unseen in the air around her.

She can't react so rashly. Not here. Never again.

She promised.

Her free hand bats her hand away as she forces herself backward, eyes wide. ]

Don't...do that.

[ it's as though ishmael's been stung, realizing what she did just now. why did she do that? it wasn't like she was the type to grab people either.

funny how a certain voyage in the city can change that.

she stares at the girl for a moment, before letting out a long sigh. ]

...Fine. Just follow me.

[ the sooner they can move on from that incredibly awkward moment, the better. ]

[ A cold sweat. The robe was supposed to keep her warm, but everything feels ice cold all of a sudden. Was a single touch really that bad? She can't tell anymore. She doesn't want to think about it either. Her nails dig into her own wrist as she holds it. ]

Yeah. After you.

[yoke]

[ does that mean he's gonna hang around wolfwood often to catch all that second hand smoke?? cute. he taps the ash from his cigarette off into an empty cup, watching as the current model carefully gets back on their feet without dropping the eggs. ]

Can't a guy just wanna make some extra kryptos on the side? [ which is mostly true. the other half is he just doesn't want to live off LILITH's free shit. ] I got an expensive habit to fund.

[ lbr though, he's glad he's able to buy smokes at all here. on the other hand, ]

I doubt tea's that pricy here.

Well, the point is to sell copies, so they probably want the photos to appear as charming as possible.

[ Briefly, he considers that Yuji doesn't exactly need to add a cute animal into the picture to make it charming. He could manage that all on his own, especially if he smiles. Of course, Megumi doesn't share his inner thoughts about this.

Stepping close to the other boy, Megumi maneuvers the cat so they are cradled comfortably in Yuji's arms. He doesn't know whose cat this is, but they seem to be extremely friendly. ]

Okay. I'll get the camera ready.

[ when she specifically brings up doing him a favor, his expression does shift slightly. while yuwon was mostly impervious to feelings such as guilt or remorse— it didn't mean that he didn't feel opposing emotions such as gratitude or respect. hence, there's a touch of something softer on his countenance as he speaks. ] I'll have to do better next time. That way, I'll really make it worth your time.

[ if he seems mildly... pleased at the prospect, it's definitely because he is. he never realized that even here there were some more than willing to proffer a semblance of good will, and well, he'd be a fool to ignore those efforts. at her question, however. ]

Why would I be offended? I like it. [ objectively, it was eye-catching. even if he saw her admist kaiju, he feels like he could have easily picked her out. ]

[ the more she speaks, the more certain he becomes that she didn't actually do any work. insert tuxedo mask gif. despite that, however, he does little more than cross his arms across his chest and release a nice, hefty sigh. ]

Hey. Don't say things that even a dog would laugh at. [ ... and also calling her out. just because he can. to be honest, he doesn't have an actual horse in the race, but he feels it wouldn't do to let this slide. he somehow gets the impression that she was the sort who took advantage when given a mile. ]

And don't say words you don't mean. [ dramatic pause. ] Besides, I think they decided on the cover. [ he points his thumb to a fake stuffed dog and a carton of eggs that have been put on a pedestal above where all the food was. ]

[ it's been a while since he's been greeted so cheerfully, and without anything actually given on his part to deserve it. well, he supposed outside of hargaan, most people ended up displaying their enmity if just because yuwon wasn't exactly the type who made friends. so maybe it's due in part to this, but his initial response ends up being stalled by a few seconds.

as if he were processing. ] I did. Can't say it was to the photographer's standards. [ but, when they ask you to slide down the firefighter pole, was there any real attractive way to do that? ]

But, I can say with confidence, I didn't break any eggs. [ which he thinks could have been from experience??? except, this isn't exactly anything to write in his resume. ]

[ he supposed even greasy foods had its own charm. besides, comparing this to when he binged on nothing but medical herbs— he'd say this deal isn't too bad. ] I get what you mean. I used to like food like this a lot. Especially, with a drink.

[ not that he was a huge drinker, but he was the type who genuinely liked a meal accompanied with a drink.

it just felt complete to him. which is probably a weird thing to say when there was nothing remotely nutritional about the rest of this spread. he picks up the baked beans and the boba and gives it a small sip before...

almost throwing it back up. but, this is where he plays it off. ]

food time.

[ the siren call of food is difficult to ignore, and wolfwood doesn't even try to fight it, currently stuffing his face with a pizza slice as he watches the other models posing for the camera or mingling. it means he spots yuji making his way over with the cat on his shoulders, heightened senses picking up brief snatches of his conversation with it. while he's never seen a cat in person before, he knows enough about them to know that nothing is exactly cat-friendly here.

they eat meat though, don't they? maybe pepperoni isn't the best, but it's something, at least. wolfwood picks the slices off his pizza and tears them into smaller pieces before offering it to yuji on another plate. ]

Try that.

[ How are they supposed to become buddies if he doesn't? It's very generous of him to risk his own health like this in the pursuit of friendship. But also: this friendship isn't gonna last very long if Wolfwood keeps dissing his tea.

Wriothesley looks mildly affronted at the insinuation that cheap tea is enough to satisfy his desires. ]

Maybe not stuff like this [ with a derisive look back at the tea tin ] but high quality teas can fetch quite the high price. I doubt that much has changed even with the change in scenery.

[ Worlds may change but inflation and capitalism will remain the same. ]

Lemme guess, you're more of a coffee guy.

Neither of them are thinking about [redacted] or his sack. In fact, Wriothesley's thinking about how long it's been since he's met someone with so little interest in the actions of others. Since it looks like they're both going to be here awhile, he takes a seat in a nearby chair, swinging one leg over so he can prop his arms up across the back of the chair. ]

Ah, but some people could misinterpret that as tacit approval to whatever they want with you. [ He holds up one hand. ] Not me, of course. You won't need to worry about anything from my end.

[ Good question. Don't mind Wriothesley as he wanders around to do a little digging for something appropriately cover up-able, though it's no big deal for him to keep idly chatting as he does so. ]

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. We're a lot more about keeping our clothes on where I come from.

[ Even if he doesn't seem to fit that mold so far... There's a bit of rustling as he digs around, before finally pulling out what seems to be a large equipment bag. ]

How's this? It's not the most flattering of props but that just means they'll be all the more drawn to your smile, right>?

[ Okay but he hasn't seen her show off skin yet?? It's Different...... ]

Didn't I tell you? [ He didn't tell her SHIT. ] The place I lived was next to the sea. Lots of terrors living down in the depths, ready to take a bite out of you if you happen to be so unlucky as to fall in. Monsters are still monsters, whether on land or sea.

[ Not a complete lie. Even if he's never encountered anything terrifying personally, there's enough unexplored terrority out in the waters that the presence of something ready to tear his face in two is more than probable. Not that he'll ever find out now. But that's fine, he likes keeping his skin.

As for these fires they're supposed to be fighting... ]

From what I can gather, this whole affair seems to be more catered towards earning a large profit than any sort of life saving mission. [ Truly money makes the world go 'round. ] Which means we probably don't have to take it all too seriously. [ And that means: ] What was it you were trying to figure out with that?

[ With a point to the camera still in her hands. He'll stand still now if she still needs it.... ]

I think cats are charming, so that works, I guess.

[ He doesn't necessarily consider himself part of being in the "charming" group; he's probably one of the youngest ones here, and he's just doing his best to make sure the cat looks as good as possible. It seems to curl up and purr in his arms, which makes him beam, eyes widening. ]

Woah, Fushiguro! She's happy!

[ He lifts his head to beam at his friend, hoping the camera can capture this moment, since it's so cute. ]

I already did my photo, so I don't think they care where I go now.

[ The cat keeps purring as Yuji reaches up to pet her gently, and he grins. He's just happy to be here and play around with a cat for a little bit - the notion of missions and fighting is something he is choosing to put out of his mind for just a while longer.

Adjusting his weight, he reaches up to tug the cat off his shoulders and hold it in his arms gently, stroking across the warm fur of the curling tail. ]

Is there a kitchen here, maybe?

[ Yuji remains that kind of person, trying to let his natural optimism come to the surface and keep him going in the strangeness of this new world. He's enjoying messing around with animals and in photography, and if that means he's a little more chipper than other people, then he's happy to accept that mantle. It's better than everyone being upset, isn't it?

He didn't really see Yuwon's photograph take place, but the mention of the pole makes his eyes widen a little. ]

You got to go down it? That's cool.

[ And he just posed with a cat...
