WHO: everyone!
WHAT: the firefighters put out a calendar every year and guess who is getting everyone involved.
WHERE: the venue for the photoshoot, somewhere in the city.
WHEN: within the first week of their arrival.
WARNINGS: nudity or partial nudity? will update warnings as they come.

The firefighters are looking for models to assist in their yearly calendar. Last year due to some mishaps, they missed the due date for this beloved tradition in the city, and so are not looking to really make sure everything is flawless this year. Since is no error for mistakes, they are even recruiting people to model as firefighters, as well as looking for people who can act as temporary photographers— in a city as busy as this one, it isn’t always easy booking a photographer for certain time slots.


1. As a photographer they are tasked to make the calendar spicy, but also unique! They figure one of the best selling points is variety. No more poses, the more avant-garde, the weirder even, the better! Like if your thing is posing with a carton of eggs, you do you!
2. Models are incentivized and even ranked (this is arbitrary, so I leave that all to you), so maybe this can also lift the competitive spirit of some! Or maybe you just really want to make some extra kryptos!
3. Outside of photographers and models, also looking for people who can enhance the overall experience. Do coffee runs for everyone, while also hyping or judging the models! Whatever they say fit! People can even stumble into these roles thinking they were here for a completing different reason! Or go out on an errand to come back and suddenly everyone is not as they once were.
4. Just have fun and free to make up your own scenarios! Even if it's walking in like 🧍‍♂️ I thought this was a pizza party.

everyone is free to put up their top levels and tag around as they see fit. you can see it as you were messaged by someone randomly on the network about an opportunity to make additional kyptos, or they could have even found an ad. whatever works!

THE SHOOT.

[ Yuji is, before anything else, actually a teenager, so he's a little more careful about his posing and outfit choices if only because he feels a little bit weird otherwise. Maybe the first weird thing is having a teenager working as a firefighter to begin with, but given all the missions that he did at home... Maybe it doesn't make that big of a difference, in the end.

Either way, he decides to be a little less daring than some of the others might be, especially since he doesn't really know what he should be doing. Spicy, weird... None of that make sense to him, but he's been given a cat to hold and that makes things a little bit better?

In the end, Yuji stands in his firefighter uniform, with the shirt deliberately left open to show off the intensity of his muscles as he grins, holding the cat close to his chest. The cat makes everything a lot better. As soon as he's done, he steps to one side, cuddling her and pressing their faces together. ]

That wasn't so bad, was it? I wonder if they'll make me do it again...

FOOD TIME.

[ There are a handful of things that will get Yuji Itadori motivated, and good food is one of them.

He still has the cat with him (there's definitely someone looking for it beginning to panic somewhere) and he's talking to it in a soft voice as he holds a plate in his other hand, as if they're sharing some kind of secret. If nothing else, he looks a little bit like he's having too much fun gossiping with a cat and not enough fun mingling, which is probably a little understandable, given what's happened to them all. ]

No, I don't think you can eat pizza... Or cake, stop that...

[ He pulls the plate away from the cat with a shake of his head, hefting it up onto his shoulders absently. ]

Shall we go and find you something to eat? There might be some fish or something, c'mon...

[ And then he's off to explore the food again, despite having barely eaten any of his own so far. ]

[ The only creatures that regularly frequent the gloomy, damp hallways of the Fortress are particularly stubborn rats that seem to have gotten lost in the tunnels between the overworld and the underworld, so it's still something of a novelty to see animals prowling around both inside and outside.

Naturally his attention gravitates towards the cat lounging on the young man's shoulders, and he pauses in his perusal of the food to give both cat and boy a good lookover. ]

A friend of yours? He's [ she's???? ] cute.

[ Is it willing to accept pets from strangers....please say yes. ]

[eyescar]

[ Yuji is very distracted by the warm weight of a cat on his shoulder, still trying to find some kind of food to give his little photo friend, but there doesn't seem to be that much that's cat friendly. Glancing over when he hears a voice, he beams, lifting his hand to pet the cat's head. ]

He's really cute! They gave me him for my photo, but I don't know if they gave us any food for him.

[ Shifting his weight, he leans over a little so that pets can be offered. ]

He doesn't bite, don't worry. He's really friendly.

[frostfist]

[ Can't believe his time to finally pet a cat is now....just kidding, he probably encountered the occasional stray cat on the streets of Fontaine, but it's been so long since his last visit that the experience may as well be new all over again.

Carefully, he holds out one hand out for the cat to sniff. ]

Then I guess we'll just have to find some food ourselves for this little guy, won't we? [ Just assigns himself Yuji's partner-in-crime, no big deal. ] What exactly do cats eat anyway? I never had the chance to own any pets growing up.

[eyescar]

I think fish? There's not really anything fresh here, though.

[ The cat, nameless as he remains, leans in to sniff at the offered hand before headbutting it and purring softly. Yuji, for his part, beams, excited about the notion of a happy pet. ]

I don't think they're really meant to drink milk either, so I was hoping to get some water.

[frostfist]

[ No fresh fish here, nor even cooked or day old fish for that matter. There's only one thing to be done about it then! Once he gives this incredibly wonderful cat a few scritches behind one ear. Maybe he should think about getting a pet here, now that he's no longer trapped in a sunless fortress under the sea. ]

Guess we'll have to look somewhere else then. [ Read: outside the firehouse. ] Think they'll [ with a nod of his head towards all the photographers still at work ] mind if we ditch early?

[ They don't really need to stay here now that they're both done with their shifts, right? ]

[eyescar]

I already did my photo, so I don't think they care where I go now.

[ The cat keeps purring as Yuji reaches up to pet her gently, and he grins. He's just happy to be here and play around with a cat for a little bit - the notion of missions and fighting is something he is choosing to put out of his mind for just a while longer.

Adjusting his weight, he reaches up to tug the cat off his shoulders and hold it in his arms gently, stroking across the warm fur of the curling tail. ]

Is there a kitchen here, maybe?

[frostfist]

[ That's answer enough for Wriothesley, who waves at Yuji with one hand to follow as he starts picking his way through the crowd. ]

Let's find out, shall we?

[ He's never been in a firehouse before, but most businesses are the same. So long as there are people working for long periods of time, there needs to be some sort of break area with food to keep them sated and satisfied.

While they're walking: ]

By the way, I didn't catch your name. I'm Wriothesley.

[ Sure, they have all their profiles out on display for everyone to see, but it never hurts to indulge in a in-person introduction. ]

[eyescar]

Right! We've got this, cat!

[ Yuji is tackling this with the determination of someone who's about to do a long-distance marathon, and he grins as he follows after Wriothesley, the cat still purring and wiggling in his arms. Maybe it knows it's going to get fed.

Shuffling along, Yuji offers a quick bow as they go. ]

Nice to meet you! I'm Yuji Itadori. And they never told me the cat's name!

[ This pink-haired boy might be the only reason Megumi is here at all. He certainly had no interest in the men, with their rippling muscles, or the women and their curvy bodies. Yuji found a new job as a firefighter (which was very befitting of him, by the way), and strangely enough, one of his first tasks on the job was to ... participate in some questionable calendar. Given their shared history, Megumi's deemed it necessary to be close to the other boy whenever he could, so here he is now - camera in hand, and helping out at the event.

It will be a bit awkward, to say the least, but it doesn't look like any raunchy shoots are on the agenda (???). What is on the agenda, though, is a cat. Megumi carries her to Yuji. ]

They want you to pretend you just rescued her.

[eyescar]

Huh? Why?

[ Yuji takes the cat quietly, holding on to her gently, who seems more than content to lounge in his arms for now. Maybe it's some kind of professional, actor cat? He has no idea where the pet came from, but given how much he loves animals, cuddling a fluffy thing isn't the worst thing he could be doing.

Instead, he lifts his head up to look at his friend. There's still that excitement, the burst of joy when he sees his classmate and knows that, at least for now, the three of them are safe. There's no threat of Sukuna or Kenjaku here, just the three of them taking care of each other. ]

That's not all firefighters do, is it?

[seaurchin]

Well, the point is to sell copies, so they probably want the photos to appear as charming as possible.

[ Briefly, he considers that Yuji doesn't exactly need to add a cute animal into the picture to make it charming. He could manage that all on his own, especially if he smiles. Of course, Megumi doesn't share his inner thoughts about this.

Stepping close to the other boy, Megumi maneuvers the cat so they are cradled comfortably in Yuji's arms. He doesn't know whose cat this is, but they seem to be extremely friendly. ]

Okay. I'll get the camera ready.

[eyescar]

I think cats are charming, so that works, I guess.

[ He doesn't necessarily consider himself part of being in the "charming" group; he's probably one of the youngest ones here, and he's just doing his best to make sure the cat looks as good as possible. It seems to curl up and purr in his arms, which makes him beam, eyes widening. ]

Woah, Fushiguro! She's happy!

[ He lifts his head to beam at his friend, hoping the camera can capture this moment, since it's so cute. ]

[ What a sweet moment. Megumi almost considers buying the calendar himself if it's just going to be filled with pictures of his friend enjoying themselves, but then he remembers there are probably going to be other raunchy photos of people he doesn't care about on said calendar, and he decides against it. Still, though, it would be nice if they let him keep this picture and a few others.

There's a click and he manages to capture the moment perfectly, impressed even at himself for it (because Kugisaki has definitely chastised him in the past for taking bad photographs of her). ]

Cats ... are usually a good judge of character. [ They can sense when someone is kind, he thinks. Megumi moves, getting another angle shot of the cute moment. ]

Do you think so?

[ Yuji never spent a lot of time around cats - or other animals, really, since his grandpa was never interested in having any kind of pet. When he moved into the school, there were times when he could pet Fushiguro's animals, but they're not exactly pets either (he doesn't think the elephant would enjoy being played with).

Leaning down, he taps his nose against the cat, who purrs and nuzzles into his neck. ]

Did the photo come out okay?

[seaurchin]

[ Before Megumi responds, he snaps another photograph of Yuji going nose to nose with that cat. It wasn't on the agenda, but it seemed like a moment too good not to capture. Digital film isn't precious or anything, so he's going to assume it's fine. If anything, they might find this shot even better than the last.

Also he kind of wants to send these photos to himself sneakily. ]

It looks good. [ Is that a strange thing to say? Well, he's doing exactly what they're asking him to do, and he doesn't think he's bad at photographer (when he bothers to try). ]

You might be suited for this sort of thing. [ Does he mean being a firefighter, or ... ]

[ honestly, despite taking on the same civilian job, yuwon never really had the opportunity to talk to him much. outside of a few words in passing, mostly greetings, despite never having been fully acquainted. then again, he could have just as readily blamed his own disinterest in sparking conversation... as the root cause of this issue. he didn't consider himself a funny or amusing person to be around, and so he tended to just slip under the radar.

but, since they're here in this place, posing as firefighters for basically charity— he figures it'd be appropriate to at least share a few words. so he speaks genuinely...

except only two words come out: ] Good work. [ why is this so reserved like something a boss would say to their employee...

it's dry, but inoffensive at least? ]

Huh?

[ Yuji doesn't expect to be spoken to - he was essentially planning on just getting on with things, and then head out to find Kugisaki or Fushiguro. He doesn't really think the things he's doing are noticeable, either, standing there with a cat and a jacket as if it means anything, even with his chest bared. He's not necessarily trying to keep his strength to himself, but he's not broadcasting it either.

He could've put a person on his shoulders for the calendar, but that might have been a little more embarrassing.

Looking over, he brightens a little, offering a grin. ]

Yeah? Thanks! Have you had your go yet?

[yuwon]

[ it's been a while since he's been greeted so cheerfully, and without anything actually given on his part to deserve it. well, he supposed outside of hargaan, most people ended up displaying their enmity if just because yuwon wasn't exactly the type who made friends. so maybe it's due in part to this, but his initial response ends up being stalled by a few seconds.

as if he were processing. ] I did. Can't say it was to the photographer's standards. [ but, when they ask you to slide down the firefighter pole, was there any real attractive way to do that? ]

But, I can say with confidence, I didn't break any eggs. [ which he thinks could have been from experience??? except, this isn't exactly anything to write in his resume. ]

[ Yuji remains that kind of person, trying to let his natural optimism come to the surface and keep him going in the strangeness of this new world. He's enjoying messing around with animals and in photography, and if that means he's a little more chipper than other people, then he's happy to accept that mantle. It's better than everyone being upset, isn't it?

He didn't really see Yuwon's photograph take place, but the mention of the pole makes his eyes widen a little. ]

You got to go down it? That's cool.

[ And he just posed with a cat...

- Wait. ]

... Eggs?

[yuwon]

[ that would be a normal question, wouldn't it? between his egg from back at home, which would eventually hatch into god knows what... and how natural it began to feel in its presence, he almost forgot how peculiar it was. no, maybe he wanted to forget. instead of awkwardly trying to explain it away, he continues as if were completely normal. ]

The eggs. They had cartons that we were supposed to pose with or juggle.

[ a pause.

maybe he should justify it. ] ... Easter?

[ is it time to bring back the pole into the conversation? ]

[eyescar]

... Easter?

[ Isn't that normally more like candy stuff? Yuji is still so clearly baffled, looking at Yuwon as if more explanation is going to come. When it doesn't, he blinks, leaning his head back before he nods sagely.

Maybe it does all make sense here, in this strange, weird world. ]

It could be a local thing, I guess... Eggs...

[ His brain is really trying to work this one out. ]

[yuwon]

It's better to adapt to the culture here. [ says yuwon very seriously, despite not actually believing any of this actually holding any water. he figures it was easier to accept than to needlessly think about. but, now he feels a little bad for misleading his only co-worker. ]

Didn't you also have a friend with you? [ is he talking about an actual friend...

or the cat? he leaves that up for debate. ]

food time.

[yoke]

[ the siren call of food is difficult to ignore, and wolfwood doesn't even try to fight it, currently stuffing his face with a pizza slice as he watches the other models posing for the camera or mingling. it means he spots yuji making his way over with the cat on his shoulders, heightened senses picking up brief snatches of his conversation with it. while he's never seen a cat in person before, he knows enough about them to know that nothing is exactly cat-friendly here.

they eat meat though, don't they? maybe pepperoni isn't the best, but it's something, at least. wolfwood picks the slices off his pizza and tears them into smaller pieces before offering it to yuji on another plate. ]

Try that.

[eyescar]

[ Yuji tilts his head immediately as Wolfwood comes over, leaning back and holding onto the cat gently so it doesn't fall. Spotting the meat, his eyes widen for a moment before he practically beams, shifting to draw the little creature into his arms. Then he can hold him up high enough to offer the meat, taking a piece and lifting it up for nibbles. ]

Thank you!

[ He's beaming now. ]

I didn't want it to go hungry.
