That sounds like it'd be nice to see! I helped Yesod dust off the books a little while ago, but it's really obvious they don't care about that place.

Which isn't exactly great... those poor books.

[ No love for paper, huh? ]

[ so he'd visited it, huh...? she wonders how often he does, and if he tidies it while he's there. ]

Yesod's always been particular about the spaces he exists -- he's a tidy guy normally, but especially back then he was a real clean freak.

[ not that malkuth knows when it'd gotten worse in their first lives together. even elijah wouldn't have, whether she'd died so soon or not; her gaze was ever down, flicking between black, white, and ground. ]

Maybe I should start swinging by and helping out too... I kind of miss cleaning shelves -- if the books aren't properly taken care of, their spines can start to break among other things. What sort of Librarian would I be if I couldn't do that much?

Not a very good one, I guess? But it's okay, we won't let them get that bad!

[ She's sure of that, between her and Yesod and Malkuth. Books need to be protected!

And she pauses, switching Malkuth's hand for the other to begin painting the nails on that side. The top coat can be added once this coat has dried. ]

she's beginning to realize she's being trapped. there's no way she's gonna be able to pick things up normally. or leave. without messing up the clean, smooth surface of her nails, the finished hand she brings up to inspect. ]

Did you do this a lot back on the Express?

[ they don't look too bad, do they...? her hands are fine, but they're not as elegant as binah's or hod's, or small and cute like tiphereth's... the nail polish really brings attention to them. maybe she shouldn't have let this happen. no, it's fine. ]

[ Don't worry, if you compare them to Gebura's, they're absolutely flawless :) ]

Kind of? Himeko taught me how to do it, but she usually wears gloves, and Dan Heng only lets me do his when I've had a bad day, so I just tend to do my own and that's a lot harder than doing someone else's.

[ Their newest member is a bit too much of a trash panda for her to see her hard work go to waste when they go digging into garbage cans. ]

[ we did not mention gebura's for a reason. ]

You're really good at it is all! It seems simple enough, but I think that if anyone could mess up, it'd be me.

[ is it self-deprecating if it's just fact... she knows she'd fuck up somehow. hand back down, malkuth is gonna study march's technique in case she has to return the favor. ]

I was so excited for tonight, I kept looking at people's nails to see what colors they had. Some of them had some pretty fun designs too! Like stripes and little flowers, and rhinestones they'd plopped on top.

Don't be fooled!

[ Sternly, wagging a finger. ]

It'd be great if you thought I was naturally talented at this, but it took me like... nine different tries, I think? To do it without smearing it all over the finger instead of the nail or having the paint job be all blotchy or packed on too much. But it was just nice to have something else to focus on back then. I think Himeko knew that too.

But I hope I can get some more stuff later on so I can do those kinds of designs. I love the little flowers, personally!

[ but she's so confident in pretty much anything she does, like she knows she's gonna be good at it and then she is. it's odd to think that someone like march took more than a few tries to get the hang of anything... but it's relieving, too. so when malkuth is ultra careful and focused just to get it right maybe she won't be weirded out. ]

They're really cute. Was Himeko the first person you met?

It was Himeko, Mr. Yang, and Dan Heng, actually! Oh, and Pom-Pom, our conductor.

[ She gestures to one corner of the wall, where it's a young man with dark hair, an older-looking brown-haired man with glasses and a streak of white in his hair, a drop-dead gorgeous redheaded woman, and some kind of fluffy... bunny thing. There's also a gray-haired individual. ]

I guess they'd all been waiting for me to wake up, since they were the ones who found me and got me out of the ice in the first place.

[ himeko has to be the gorgeous woman... mr. yang is probably the older gentleman? and pom-pom has to be the adorable... creature. so that means dan heng is the last there. malkuth studies them all, staring at the gray-haired individual -- who looks plainly out of place comparatively, sort of spaced and with the air of someone who just woke up from a nap. ]

So they knew you were there, huh...? That's pretty mysterious of them. But I guess none of them know why you don't have your memories, or they'd at least tell you something.

[ they're probably good people if march talks so well of them. the girl hasn't got the tact to hold back her opinions. ]

Pom-Pom is the little guy, right? I kind of want a plush of them.

Oh, they didn't. I think I was just in the way of the Express, so when they stopped, they found me floating out there. They didn't know a single thing about me or why I was in there or why I was in space in the first place, but... they still decided to help me.

[ Amazing. ]

But yeah, that's Pom-Pom! They're super cute, aren't they?? I'd snap up a plush in a heartbeat!

[ hold up ]

You were just floating in space trapped in ice? I thought you'd at least be on a planet!

Well, they're good people for giving you a hand and home even if it was just because you happened to be in their way. Who's the half-awake looking one over there?

They're our newest member! They're pretty weird. [ Fondly. ]

I think they've got a memory of... well, one person, but I don't know all the details there.

Also keep this a secret, but they've also got a Stellaron inside of them.

[ girl ]

You mean the cancer of worlds? That Stellaron?

[ the thing you LITERALLY GOT ARRESTED FOR TRYING TO FIGHT? ]

[ With the look of "YEAH, I KNOW, I GET IT." ]

It only went berserk once and then Mr. Yang sealed it and honestly, it doesn't seem to... really throw them off at all, having it inside of them. They've just kind of been able to resonate with the other Stellarons and that helps us understand the situation faster.

So it can be dealt with nicely, but I'm guessing it really is a manner of timing...

Alright. It's not like I have anyone to tell anyway, March. And... if you trust them, then I will too. Even if they're weird.

Kind of. It's a lot harder than I thought to think of people as cute and stuff since the City put more worth on merits than appearance... More people would compliment you on a job well done than think you had a pretty face.
