KAIJU FIGHT #2
KAIJU FIGHT #2
βΆ 001. IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL
On the 1st of April, Outsiders will be rudely awakened by the sudden voice of Captain Yamakawa:

The alarm will sound in the base, urging all Outsiders to suit up, bring their weapons and get ready for the mission. A location pin will then be downloaded into their implant, along with an associated mission briefing. The location will lead to an abandoned amusement park that might be familiar to some - Tokyo Disneyland. The brief will report that according to intel, there is an unauthorized research facility hidden within the premises. Outsiders are to locate it, storm it, and seize any lab specimens they can find.
To get to the theme park, characters will be able to take trains to the edge of Neo Tokyo where they can then be transported by armored trucks through what remains of old roads. Eventually, when the terrain becomes too destroyed and overgrown with brush, theyβll have to travel by foot the rest of the way. However, they will have to be careful because it looks like someone has laid out traps. Some of them are designed to capture animals but others are clearly booby traps meant to deter intruders.
From the outside, nothing looks out of the ordinary in this old park - there are classic attractions such as Cinderellaβs castle, the Haunted Mansion, Aliceβs Teacup ride, the Western River Railroad, and many, many more. While most of the rides are weathered down and no longer functional, there are plenty of old gift shops and carnival game booths with prizes to take home for free (if you donβt mind a really old Minnie Mouse doll).
LILITH was not able to pinpoint exactly where this secret laboratory is hidden within the enormous park, and itβs now up to the Outsiders to find it. All implants will be fitted with a heat-seeking function to allow Outsiders to detect anomalies within the park.
The first part of the mission is simple: Scour the rides and attractions and find the entrance.
Outsiders may encounter more booby traps while searching the park. Traps will range from making parts of attractions and buildings collapse on intruders to more elaborate and high-tech ones like electric fields or explosive traps. Players are more than welcome to come up with their own traps so long as it fits the setting.
"Angels of Lilith. I require your immediate attention. Through your efforts at extracting information from our captives, and intel collected by our intelligence team, we have located the culprits who have stolen our specimens and are conducting illegal experiments. Your mission briefing will arrive shortly. Take caution, however. The Neo Tokyo Meteorological Agency is reporting strange abnormalities in their readings. We will look further into this. For now, stay sharp and be prepared."

βΆ 002. BOO WHO?
Eventually, Outsiders will find themselves drawn to the Haunted Mansion, where there appear to be several abnormal signs of life. While the mansion would hardly have been scary to anyone but children several hundred years ago, centuries without any sort of maintenance have turned the place into a real nightmare. Pitch darkness, decrepit fake graves that look like they could be real ones, and the mysterious chatter of β is that a ghost? There are flickers of life within the old animatronics, and ever so often you might see a skeleton or zombie twitch. They might even take a swing at an unsuspecting Outsider.
The deeper into the mansion you travel, the more power it appears to have, until the Outsiders reach a door that appears to be heavily guarded by a group of humans holding vicious chimeras on a leash.
Once LILITH receives this intel, the next order is given: Storm the lab immediately!

βΆ 003. LET'S GECK-GO!
As the Outsiders infiltrate the lab, the air buzzes with electricity and everyone's hair begins to stand on end not from fear but from the sheer amount of energy generated. There may be a lot of machines generating a lot of power and some of it may be spilling excess electricity into the air but this feels different. It feels more potent.
Suddenly, the park comes to life. Old generators buzz to life, staticky music begins to play on the worn out speakers, and the lights begin to flash. From the overgrowth surrounding the park, trees begin to topple over. It is obvious that something is approaching and whatever it is seems to have a lot of energy. From the trees, a giant, gecko-like creature emerges. The air around it sparks and each step it takes generates a wave of electricity that follows the many wires and systems laid out underground.
The energy at the park seems to be drawing the unknown kaiju towards the park and more geckos appear from the forests behind it. They move quickly through the park and climb over the buildings and attractions. When they see a hybrid or a person nearby, they will stun them with their electric fields and try to eat them. As they begin to swarm the park, they go into a feeding frenzy that infects the air around them. Rides begin to spin faster, the music grows louder, lights explode, and the more electricity and power the geckos absorb, the bigger they become when they shed their skins.
One gecko in particular grows faster than the others. This one will keep growing with no apparent end in sight and begins climbing over the highest rides until they topple under its weight. Outsiders will have to avoid collapsing rubble and climb over ruined attractions to take down this kaiju while also stopping the other geckos from growing to the same size.
After dealing with the gecko kaiju for some time without any information, a report will finally come in:

β β β MONSTER DEBRIEF SHEETThe Outsiders will have to cut off all energy supplies to stop feeding the newly named Yamadenki and then defeat them.
NAME: Yamadenki
HEIGHT: 3 metres- unknown (does not stop growing)
WEIGHT: 1,500-70,000 kg
CLASS: Dangerous
LOCATION: Kanto, Japan
ABILITIES: Stores electricity within its body. Uses static electricity to climb up and stick to objects. Can use electric shocks to stun and injure prey. The more energy they absorb, the bigger they grow. When close enough to a human, it kills them by biting into their flesh and absorbing the electrical currents within the cells, disrupting the heart rate and nervous system. It then eats the flesh.
WEAKNESS: Attacks to the head and body. Ice and extreme cold (they are cold blooded).
EXTRA NOTES: Can regrow appendages. Their severed appendages and bodies can retain electricity for an unknown amount of time so proceed with caution.
β β β MISSION OBJECTIVE:
β Cut off the supply of electricity at the park by disabling all generators
β Bring back the Yamadenki (alive or dead) for research purposes
β Bring back the hybrid specimens
β Capture all suspicious persons for interrogation

βΆ 004. A RIFT IN SPACE-TIME
"MAYDAY, MAYDAY! Unknown energy signal detected! Reaching maximum output! Our sensors are detecting a breach in the inter-dimensional fabric!"
An hour into battle, Outsiders will receive a sudden warning signal, urging them to complete their mission and eliminate the Yamadenki before itβs too late. All that concentrated energy generated at the park is being corrupted by the Yamadenki, and itβs not long before a rift bursts through from beneath the Haunted Mansion, causing a huge explosion and a rain of rubble and mysterious energy. Itβs the first of its kind. A rift has never opened this close to Neo Tokyo!
Energy from the rift seems to affect anyone standing too close to it, transforming any unprotected human into a snarling, groaning, human-reptilian hybrid. These hybrids have electrical qualities similar to the Yamadenki and are just as ferocious. The plugsuits issued by LILITH should protect characters against any nasty transformations (unless there is some damage to them or they have taken them off), but exposure to the rift can still result in increased headaches, vertigo, irritability and impulsiveness.
The rift is growing larger by the minute, and from the other side of it - the growling of a number of unknown beasts can be heard. Even the higher ups within LILITH are anxious about this. The only way to stop the rift is to cut off its power supply.

βΆ 005. AFTERMATH.
As the Outsiders shut down generators and take down the Yamadenki, the rift shrinks in size until finally it closes. Everything at the park goes still now that there is no more power to run things. Some of the corrupted humans and hybrids still linger and will have to be taken down or captured but they are in weakened states now that the rift has closed.
Outsiders will be tasked with capturing the Rift-infected humans who will then be transported to LILITH base for treatment... if they can be treated, that is. Outsiders will also need to report for treatment. Characters may experience the lingering effects of the rift such as the vertigo, headaches, shorter tempers, and impulsive behavior. The LILITH medics arenβt sure what to do other than prescribing bed rest and maybe offering some medication for their headaches. The worst cases may be prescribed sedatives.
Normally, LILITH would order the Outsiders to retrieve specimens from the field but given the events that unfolded, they are told to standby until a special research unit can inspect the area for contamination and give the all clear.

βΆ 006. AFTERWORD.
Welcome to our second Kaiju log! As before, all prompts are highly encouraged but OOCly optional. ICly, any characters suffering negative effects from the rift will recover within a week, though you are welcome to determine the severity of their symptoms during that time.
Feel free to NPC your characters' fights with the smaller kaijus. The main fight with the largest gecko will be determined via a HP-based system (See below).
All tags in this log count for 2 reward points each. Ask any further questions below!

gecko wildcard;
But none of that is enough to stop him from laying down cover from above as they race towards the generator's location, a mass of geckos following in their wake. The force of his air blasts connecting with their heads and bodies is enough to stun and even destroy them with enough focused blasts, but it takes time and concentration, things that he's running short of. If only they had some...ice.
The ice machines lined up next to a nearby building come into his direct line of view and he makes a bee-line towards them. Even if they're not working, maybe they can use the geckos' electric attacks to restart them.]
Kacchan! The ice machines!
[He trusts that he doesn't need to explain any further.]
no subject
That's fine. So long as they win. His feet hit the rooftop below, boots clunking one two three before launching off with another jump from his legs and bust from his hands. No longer trying to wipe out the never-ending swarm of geckos, their new quarry are the generators scattered around the theme park. Why the fuck wasn't this LILITH's initial suggestion? Does it take a genius to figure out cutting off their power source, food stuffs, attraction is a good way to end the swarm?
Katsuki's explosions swell once before erupting in another detonation, punching a hole in the wave of scales and teeth following them. Only a brief interlude before they replace themselves with more. Izuku suddenly calls out to him and he swings his heavy gaze towards the other hero.
Ice machines? His initial thought is "they aren't working!" before remembering the water guns at the carnival game. If that thing had water, then the ice machines would also have water. Biological experiments needed cold storage.]
Get it in the air! [No, Izuku doesn't need to say more. Katsuki's already moving into the plan.]
no subject
He wraps his arms around the machine and gives it a hard pull, ripping it away from the wall it stood against. In seconds he's back in the air, bear hugging the ice machine against his chest.
He notices then that the machine feels a bit heavy for something that should only have some probably dried up water in it. Something inside is rattling around.]
I think there's actual ice inside!
[How convenient for their current predicament.]
no subject
That solid rip of metal and concrete is a hellish jolt, but Katsuki only looks to Izuku's presence when that bio-electric covered green bolt zips back into the air. Bear hugging a fucking ice machine like the weirdest koala.]
THERE WAS WATER IN THE GUNS AND YOU'RE SURPRISED ABOUT ICE IN THE MACHINES?!
[Granted it would've been surprising if they hadn't found the guns first, buuut... Katsuki flashes up beside Izuku, bouncing on another explosion.]
Throw it and get ready to fire at those bastards!
[Katsuki's going to break the machine open.]
no subject
He doesn't hesitate to follow the other boy's instructions, shifting the machine away from his body until he's grasping it with just two hands. Spinning in a sharp circle midair, he gains enough momentum to send it shooting up above them.]
no subject
Never mind there's blood leaking into his eye, or that one of his eyes has gone red from broken blood vessels from a previous impact, or that his body's yelling about the pain of other wounds. Katsuki appears behind the machine one hand on his forearm, the other plastered to the back of the ice maker.]
DIIEEE!!
[And fires, ripping open the machine with another explosion and sending a literal hailstorm of ice spreading across the space below.]
no subject
More space opens up around them as the lizards continue to scramble, and now may be the best chance they have to progress. More lizards are sure to follow eventually, but they might be able to make it to the generator before then.]
Let's keep moving! We can keep an eye out for more ice machines as we go.
[There have to be more littered throughout the park.]
no subject
Hitting the ground on his feet, Katsuki takes a quick survey of the generator. As much as he'd love to just lay into it and demolish the thing, wanton collateral damage already got ingrained into his head thanks to Aizawa-sensei's criticism.
What matters now... is getting into the thick of the generator, gripping the handle, and then jerking the entire lever down. It resists him, a few snaps and pops of overloading electronics, but with one boot planted on the metal, he hauls back and the entire thing swings into "OFF" with a metallic clank! The telltale groaning whine of power running out permeates through the air around them, causing the attractions nearby to slow and lights to dim.
Katsuki swings around the generator, grabs the wires by the handful, and yanks back, ripping them from the socket connectors.]
no subject
It's only once the lights power down around him that he knows for sure that Bakugo has been successful in turning the generator off. Any lingering lizards quickly flee into the newly formed shadows as they realize their meal ticket has been disabled. But Izuku has no doubt that they'll be back as soon as they've recharged.
He loops around to the back of the generator to find his partner. He's panting hard, the exertion really making itself known as a numbness begins to settle into his arms, his hands. But they have to keep going.]
We're clear for now. But they'll be back.
[Now that they're not on the move, he's able to get a good look at the state Bakugo is in. It's not the first time they've been beaten up in battle. But that doesn't make it any easier to witness when there's no an enemy around to distract them from their wounds.]
How are you holding up, Kacchan?
no subject
The rustle of grass and skid of gravel snaps his attention back and Katsuki swings his arm to the side, palm out and sparks bursting before he notices Izuku between the splay of his fingers. Clicking his tongue in annoyance, the blonde lowers his arm, foot kicking the clump of wires to the side so it won't be easy for anyone to shove them back in so readily.
Izuku doesn't look too bad for wear, though the rapid-fire shots from above and his previous tangle with the lizards can't be good for his energy right now. Katsuki looks to Izuku's hands, eyes taking shots from arm to face to legs, noting any potential damage indicators on his friend's figure.]
They won't be back to this section.
[Katsuki rubs at his shoulder before turning towards the rest of the amusement park. Izuku's concern makes him bristle, but he's too focused to really snap at him for the instinctive query on his state.]
I'm not dead yet.
[Because that's what's important. Right. He might be bleeding, burned, and worse, but he's still standing, moving, and fighting. Nothing else needs to matter.]
You ready to move on?
no subject
But it's nothing that could stop him from continuing their mission. He's fought through broken bones, his body ravaged in multiple places. If the geckos want to take him out, they have a lot more work to do.
He accepts Bakugo's reply with a nod, knowing that that's the best answer he's going to get. They're similar in that they will both push themselves to the brink and still keep going. He can only hope that Bakugo will let him know if he reaches that point.]
Yeah. I'm ready. The next generator should be this way.
[With a light jump, he's back in the air.]
no subject
Even if both of them look like they could use a fucking nap right now. Katsuki knows Izuku can endure a lot, and he's not any less durable in the stamina department either. Pushing through pain, injury, and worse. No shitty lizard's going to take them out.
Katsuki has zero intention of reaching that point before Izuku. If the other boy's going, he's going too. End of story. Arms behind him, he ignites another round of explosions, leaping after Izuku with a blast. It may get the geckos' attention, but with all the cacophony of war going around... maybe not.]
This place has too many self-contained generators. There's no single switch to kill them all.
