KAIJU FIGHT #2

KAIJU FIGHT #2

CONTENT WARNINGS: electrophobia, body horror, death/injury, gore, violence.

β–Ά 001. IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL

On the 1st of April, Outsiders will be rudely awakened by the sudden voice of Captain Yamakawa:

"Angels of Lilith. I require your immediate attention. Through your efforts at extracting information from our captives, and intel collected by our intelligence team, we have located the culprits who have stolen our specimens and are conducting illegal experiments. Your mission briefing will arrive shortly. Take caution, however. The Neo Tokyo Meteorological Agency is reporting strange abnormalities in their readings. We will look further into this. For now, stay sharp and be prepared."

The alarm will sound in the base, urging all Outsiders to suit up, bring their weapons and get ready for the mission. A location pin will then be downloaded into their implant, along with an associated mission briefing. The location will lead to an abandoned amusement park that might be familiar to some - Tokyo Disneyland. The brief will report that according to intel, there is an unauthorized research facility hidden within the premises. Outsiders are to locate it, storm it, and seize any lab specimens they can find.

To get to the theme park, characters will be able to take trains to the edge of Neo Tokyo where they can then be transported by armored trucks through what remains of old roads. Eventually, when the terrain becomes too destroyed and overgrown with brush, they’ll have to travel by foot the rest of the way. However, they will have to be careful because it looks like someone has laid out traps. Some of them are designed to capture animals but others are clearly booby traps meant to deter intruders.

From the outside, nothing looks out of the ordinary in this old park - there are classic attractions such as Cinderella’s castle, the Haunted Mansion, Alice’s Teacup ride, the Western River Railroad, and many, many more. While most of the rides are weathered down and no longer functional, there are plenty of old gift shops and carnival game booths with prizes to take home for free (if you don’t mind a really old Minnie Mouse doll).

LILITH was not able to pinpoint exactly where this secret laboratory is hidden within the enormous park, and it’s now up to the Outsiders to find it. All implants will be fitted with a heat-seeking function to allow Outsiders to detect anomalies within the park.

The first part of the mission is simple: Scour the rides and attractions and find the entrance.

Outsiders may encounter more booby traps while searching the park. Traps will range from making parts of attractions and buildings collapse on intruders to more elaborate and high-tech ones like electric fields or explosive traps. Players are more than welcome to come up with their own traps so long as it fits the setting.

β–Ά 002. BOO WHO?

Eventually, Outsiders will find themselves drawn to the Haunted Mansion, where there appear to be several abnormal signs of life. While the mansion would hardly have been scary to anyone but children several hundred years ago, centuries without any sort of maintenance have turned the place into a real nightmare. Pitch darkness, decrepit fake graves that look like they could be real ones, and the mysterious chatter of – is that a ghost? There are flickers of life within the old animatronics, and ever so often you might see a skeleton or zombie twitch. They might even take a swing at an unsuspecting Outsider.

The deeper into the mansion you travel, the more power it appears to have, until the Outsiders reach a door that appears to be heavily guarded by a group of humans holding vicious chimeras on a leash.

Once LILITH receives this intel, the next order is given: Storm the lab immediately!

β–Ά 003. LET'S GECK-GO!

As the Outsiders infiltrate the lab, the air buzzes with electricity and everyone's hair begins to stand on end not from fear but from the sheer amount of energy generated. There may be a lot of machines generating a lot of power and some of it may be spilling excess electricity into the air but this feels different. It feels more potent.

Suddenly, the park comes to life. Old generators buzz to life, staticky music begins to play on the worn out speakers, and the lights begin to flash. From the overgrowth surrounding the park, trees begin to topple over. It is obvious that something is approaching and whatever it is seems to have a lot of energy. From the trees, a giant, gecko-like creature emerges. The air around it sparks and each step it takes generates a wave of electricity that follows the many wires and systems laid out underground.

The energy at the park seems to be drawing the unknown kaiju towards the park and more geckos appear from the forests behind it. They move quickly through the park and climb over the buildings and attractions. When they see a hybrid or a person nearby, they will stun them with their electric fields and try to eat them. As they begin to swarm the park, they go into a feeding frenzy that infects the air around them. Rides begin to spin faster, the music grows louder, lights explode, and the more electricity and power the geckos absorb, the bigger they become when they shed their skins.

One gecko in particular grows faster than the others. This one will keep growing with no apparent end in sight and begins climbing over the highest rides until they topple under its weight. Outsiders will have to avoid collapsing rubble and climb over ruined attractions to take down this kaiju while also stopping the other geckos from growing to the same size.

After dealing with the gecko kaiju for some time without any information, a report will finally come in:
β–ˆ β–ˆ β–ˆ MONSTER DEBRIEF SHEET
NAME: Yamadenki
HEIGHT: 3 metres- unknown (does not stop growing)
WEIGHT: 1,500-70,000 kg
CLASS: Dangerous
LOCATION: Kanto, Japan
ABILITIES: Stores electricity within its body. Uses static electricity to climb up and stick to objects. Can use electric shocks to stun and injure prey. The more energy they absorb, the bigger they grow. When close enough to a human, it kills them by biting into their flesh and absorbing the electrical currents within the cells, disrupting the heart rate and nervous system. It then eats the flesh.
WEAKNESS: Attacks to the head and body. Ice and extreme cold (they are cold blooded).
EXTRA NOTES: Can regrow appendages. Their severed appendages and bodies can retain electricity for an unknown amount of time so proceed with caution.

β–ˆ β–ˆ β–ˆ MISSION OBJECTIVE:
βœ– Cut off the supply of electricity at the park by disabling all generators
βœ– Bring back the Yamadenki (alive or dead) for research purposes
βœ– Bring back the hybrid specimens
βœ– Capture all suspicious persons for interrogation

β–ˆ β–ˆ β–ˆ ATTACHED PHOTO:

The Outsiders will have to cut off all energy supplies to stop feeding the newly named Yamadenki and then defeat them.

β–Ά 004. A RIFT IN SPACE-TIME

"MAYDAY, MAYDAY! Unknown energy signal detected! Reaching maximum output! Our sensors are detecting a breach in the inter-dimensional fabric!"

An hour into battle, Outsiders will receive a sudden warning signal, urging them to complete their mission and eliminate the Yamadenki before it’s too late. All that concentrated energy generated at the park is being corrupted by the Yamadenki, and it’s not long before a rift bursts through from beneath the Haunted Mansion, causing a huge explosion and a rain of rubble and mysterious energy. It’s the first of its kind. A rift has never opened this close to Neo Tokyo!

Energy from the rift seems to affect anyone standing too close to it, transforming any unprotected human into a snarling, groaning, human-reptilian hybrid. These hybrids have electrical qualities similar to the Yamadenki and are just as ferocious. The plugsuits issued by LILITH should protect characters against any nasty transformations (unless there is some damage to them or they have taken them off), but exposure to the rift can still result in increased headaches, vertigo, irritability and impulsiveness.

The rift is growing larger by the minute, and from the other side of it - the growling of a number of unknown beasts can be heard. Even the higher ups within LILITH are anxious about this. The only way to stop the rift is to cut off its power supply.

"Angels of LILITH! We must act fast! Disable all generators and subdue the Kaiju before it’s too late!"

β–Ά 005. AFTERMATH.

As the Outsiders shut down generators and take down the Yamadenki, the rift shrinks in size until finally it closes. Everything at the park goes still now that there is no more power to run things. Some of the corrupted humans and hybrids still linger and will have to be taken down or captured but they are in weakened states now that the rift has closed.

Outsiders will be tasked with capturing the Rift-infected humans who will then be transported to LILITH base for treatment... if they can be treated, that is. Outsiders will also need to report for treatment. Characters may experience the lingering effects of the rift such as the vertigo, headaches, shorter tempers, and impulsive behavior. The LILITH medics aren’t sure what to do other than prescribing bed rest and maybe offering some medication for their headaches. The worst cases may be prescribed sedatives.

Normally, LILITH would order the Outsiders to retrieve specimens from the field but given the events that unfolded, they are told to standby until a special research unit can inspect the area for contamination and give the all clear.

β–Ά 006. AFTERWORD.

Welcome to our second Kaiju log! As before, all prompts are highly encouraged but OOCly optional. ICly, any characters suffering negative effects from the rift will recover within a week, though you are welcome to determine the severity of their symptoms during that time.

Feel free to NPC your characters' fights with the smaller kaijus. The main fight with the largest gecko will be determined via a HP-based system (See below).

All tags in this log count for 2 reward points each. Ask any further questions below!

A lot of large theme parks have a shit ton of underground storage and walkways already in place. They probably just moved in.

[Plus with a theme park this big, it's not "in" a city, but rather within its own district. Condemned and abandoned, it's likely the publicity of the park closing when it did would make the idea of someone wanting to use it as a base implausible. Like hiding something in the glare of the light. You can't see it because what's behind it is so brilliant.

Though if Yuji meant a more general query about why someone would want to attack a theme park... Bakugo did not get the implication. That's an easy question to answer too, since his world of superheroes definitely sees villains attacking high-profile locations for various reasons.

The last thing Bakugo wants is for Yuji to start poking at switches or wires and getting electrocuted. He's glad the other guy understands their current progress and aim. Even if he's simple, Yuji is easy to work with and strong, two things Bakugo can get behind quickly. He watches from the window as the lever flips up into place (shove it, Gari Head, there you go) with a solid *ka-chunk!* and an active hum abruptly surges forward. They've got power.

Bakugo throws a switch of his own in the control booth and the teacup ride begins to groan and creak as it receives juice and orders for the first time in a long time. Well that answers that question. A grin plays on his face at the success.]

Way to go, Itadori. [Forgot he was still broadcasting that, so Yuji definitely gets to hear the quiet praise.] Electric and ice if you have them. You can power something with the former and the second one's not gonna blow shit up.

Ohhh, right. To transport stuff around? That makes total sense. I guess for somewhere this big, you'd need something like that.

[ Like a deep infrastructure, he gets that, it makes sense. If there are lots of employees, and they have to move around, some kind of underground system would connect things much easier... Is there some kind of map under the park? If you were new, it would be awful to learn, so there has to be something, right? Maybe they can find their way to that and take advantage of it sooner rather than later.

Stepping away from the levers and electronics, he heads back to Bakugo's side, shaking his head with a sheepish little laugh. ]

The only ones that we couldn't get, huh?

[ He sighs, taking the praise in but not making a point out of it. He knows better than to try and poke at Bakugo's softer side after the months of their friendship. ]

I've got Fire, Water, Wind, Light or Darkness, so I guess that's not super useful right now.

[ Sighing, he leans against a pillar, shaking his head as he looks around. Annoying, almost as if he should blame LILITH or something. Make more swords for him to get! ]

It's whatever, I still have my fists and my technique.

Uh-huh. It avoids disturbing the "image" of the theme park.

[Who wants to go the happiest place on Earth and run into a giant yellow backhoe or a truck hauling a bisected character statue behind it? Traumatize a bunch of little shits. Not to mention all the employees and manages that Yuji's thinking of as well. Bakugo expects the people running this black market hybrid trade commandeered the underground areas and set up shop in there to avoid detection.

As Yuji returns to his side, Bakugo checks the controls for the teacup ride while watching the attraction slowly break out of its long-held slumber. A few plants get ripped from their roots as the area begins to spin, dust and dirt throwing off the cups while they rotate. It's kind of unnerving, like a mummy coming back to life.]

Wind and Light. [Fire is still a wary idea, despite the fact Bakugo's a walking explosion. Water, for some reason, doesn't sound helpful right now, and Darkness would likely give their opponents time to escape... if that's how it worked? If it was gravity based, then never mind. But those are his instinctive first two choices.

Bakugo leaves the controls and heads for the door, though pauses beside Yuji and peers at him.]
The one you said I'd have to wait to see?

[Yeah, don't think he forgot about that, Gari Head.]

The image... That stuff really mattered, didn't it?

[ Yuji just hadn't had much time to go to places like theme parks or stuff like that - moving from Sendai to Tokyo was a big enough change, and then Shibuya and the Culling Game had happened, so... None of that stuff seemed important. Maybe that's why he's so desperate to get this place up and running now, to experience something like it: to have some kind of childish enjoyment.

The spinning is exactly what he wanted, and his eyes light up a little. It's such a silly thing to get excited about, really, but... He is only fifteen. Isn't this what he's meant to be excited over?

Nodding his head, he hums absently, making a mental note. Maybe go and get a sword, if the other things don't work. Seems simple enough. ]

Hah? Yeah, that one!

[ Grinning, he pretends to flex his arm. ]

I'm pretty strong now, dandelion.

[personal profile] blastedass 2024-04-05 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
To most people.

[Not just in theme parks. Image matters all over the place. Higher end restaurants look different than casual restaurants. Bakugo saw how different U.A. looked compared to his middle school, how the city was different than his hometown. He's seen plenty of places where image mattered. Hell, Best Jeanist tried his damnest to shove "image" onto Dynamight, and he fucking HATED it! (At least Jeanist's version of it.)

Bakugo looks back to the spinning cups again. If Yuji needs one of his swords, there are ways to get it delivered or something, right? Just like he can (if he wants) call his car to him. Though the motorcycle didn't have the same function... and his car's AI is a sassy bastard. Thank god Yuji hasn't experienced that yet.]

You were strong before. [And promptly "punches" Yuji on the flexed bicep.] But you're even stronger now. Now get on the damn cups for a minute.

[personal profile] eyescar 2024-04-05 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Weird.

[ Yuji has never been that concerned with what people think of him, beyond hoping that they think he's a good guy, deep down - despite all the problems that he's caused. The idea of image or fashion or any of that being a big deal is beyond him... Is it kind of like Kugisaki and her fashion? Looking good? It just never mattered that much to him before.

Should it?

Turning his head, he grins, looking at his friend and flexing again before giving up and hopping over to one of the cups. They seem to be working alright, so...

Slowly, he sits down. ]

Pretty impressive, isn't it? Hope you'll think I'm cool after you see it.

[personal profile] blastedass 2024-04-05 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
How the fuck's that weird? You want people to come to the park, not a construction site.

[Does he have to explain the concept of keeping up appearances to Yuji? Fuck, he better not. The guy can't be that small town boy. Heroes have also been coming under fire for being too caught up in appearance over substance, too concerned in their ranking and success factors to want to get dirty with addressing hard-to-wrangle topics. Or admit the faults and mistakes they've made that led to society being the way it is. Then again, villains don't like to admit their own either, and would rather blame it on other people... which is part of their own appearance. It goes deeper than fashion and brand.

Bakugo agrees somewhat that image should matter. Look at his costume! He didn't walk out looking like an explosion military brat with grenades on his arms and death on his knees because it happened to be in the closet! He chose that image for multiple reasons, because he wants people to see that, associate it with him and his power/results, and change their decisions accordingly.

Something to dig into later if Yuji's ever curious.

... what were you trying to encourage, Gari Head? A flexing contest? Bakugo goes to the control panel again once Yuji's settled in the teacup, then increases the power and speed gradually.]

You're riding a teacup. Any technique's gonna be cooler than that. [Bleh. Still, he comes out of the booth again to go to the cups and watch Yuji.] Grab the table-looking thing in the middle and turn it! It'll spin faster.
eyescar: (pic#16060551)

[personal profile] eyescar 2024-04-05 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess, but don't people come either way? It's Disney. I guess they should keep their image up, thought.

[ They're a big deal, aren't they? Whatever, it's not as if it matters now, with how in disrepair the park is.

Sitting in the teacup, Yuji wonders why they're doing this... Is Bakugo getting him on the teacups just because he wanted to ride them? That's pretty sweet, actually, and he can feel his cheeks going a little red as he shifts to get more comfortable. He can probably handle whatever high speed there might be after this, since it won't compare to being thrown around or running after curses, but he doesn't really want to do it all alone...

Looking over at his friend, he beams. ]

Aren't you gonna come and join me?

[ Reaching out, he spins the teacup a little. ]

I bet I can get mine to go faster than yours and survive it.

[personal profile] blastedass 2024-04-05 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
A lot of people come because it has the family-friendly image. Other places are too scary or too adult.

[The way Bakugo says that last part, drawn out and mocking, suggests what he thinks about parents who coddle their kids like that.

The only reason Yuji's in the teacup and not getting yelled at is because he'd been so disappointed the rides hadn't been on. So... yeah. He has zero intention of humiliating himself by getting in the damn thing with him. With the ride speeding up and the cups starting to wave between each other, it's going to be a little more of a loop as they move. Bakugo turns to head back to the controls when Yuji asks that question.]

Tch! As if I-

[-and Yuji adds something else.

... dammit, Gari Head!]

'd let you out-spin me! [He times his jump, launches off an explosion, and lands in the cup that's beside Yuji's. Perfect! Then crouches and grabs the center "table" with challenge in his eyes.] Get ready to hurl!

[This guy knows how to play him.]
eyescar: (pic#17064364)

[personal profile] eyescar 2024-04-07 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
You're making a lot of sense, dandelion.

[ Yuji wouldn't know... Orphan...

He knows his friend too well, though, feeling his lips twitch as Bakugo makes his way over to the teacups and clambers in to get into his own one. Yeah, he knows what to do to get his dandelion to take part in a bit of fun, even if they probably should be focussed on the mission.

Alas, they're teenagers, too.

Fighting his laughter, Yuji twists the teacup, turning his attention to beam.

He's totally got this. He's had worse than a teacup. ]

We'll see! I'm gonna beat you!
blastedass: by bokunoicons @ tumblr (πŸ’₯ The villainous hero arrives!)

[personal profile] blastedass 2024-04-07 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I always make sense! Don't say that like it's a surprise!

[Even as an orphan, Bakugo figures the guy knows what family values are to the general society. Safety, nice, pleasant, polite, wanting their kids not to be scared or negatively influenced. Blah blah blah.

They should be focused on the mission, but with all the other Outsiders around... guess taking a small break for a first-time experience isn't a bad idea? (No it's a horrible idea.) Who knows if this place will be standing after they find who they're looking for. Hybrid creatures, armed scientists, bodyguards protecting their investments. The Outsiders have a lot of power too.

He won't let Yuji take too long on the thing at least? Enough for him to enjoy it. But competitive teen and fun-loving teen are gonna do what they do.

Bakugo slams his hands on the turntable with an aggressive fervor.]

Bring it on, Gari Head! [GRINK!! ... How they're going to measure this is beyond plausible.]
eyescar: (pic#17020140)

[personal profile] eyescar 2024-04-08 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, do you? I dunno...

[ Yuji isn't thinking about taking a break or anything like that - he's just having fun. It's been weeks since he let himself indulge in anything that wasn't fighting, even if it was only a night here, and it's still a novelty to get to do things like rest, or breathe for a few moments without the pressure of something baring down on him.

Twisting his teacup, he bursts out with laughter, shaking his head. These things are for kids, right? So they can't go that fast, but at least they're doing their best to spin it to the point that it could break them if they're not careful.

Looking over at Bakugo, he beams. ]

Looks like you're still a little behind me, dandelion!

blastedass: by bokunoicons @ tumblr (πŸ’₯ DOOR'S LOCKED! KICK IT IN!)

[personal profile] blastedass 2024-04-08 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
YOU WANNA REPEAT THAT, GARI HEAD?!

[When's the last time they got to do something fun and teenage in their lives? Bakugo's a serious person and focuses on the mission as best he can, but every now and then, someone close to him can shake him out of that efficient hero mode and back into the fact he's still a kid, not a child soldier. The faster the cup goes, the less he feels that weight. Maybe Yuji's right. Just have some fun once in a fucking while.

Oh they can go fast; it's because they're for kids and don't have competitive teenagers sitting in them alone that they never get to hit their top speeds. Bakugo's not giving the cup any mercy as he twists the turntable. Look if it breaks, well..

He's not gonna break it. He's a responsible trash gremlin. Yuji's beaming grin gets the face of mad slasher smile in return.]

Looks?! Bullshit! As if you can see at that speed?!

You heard what I said!

[ Yuji is laughing out loud, just enjoying himself - it's fun to mess around, just a little bit. Both he and Bakugo will end up getting back to the mission sooner rather than later, there's no denying it, so a brief moment of respite is exciting; until they're dragged by their ears, or they get bored.

Twisting his own cup, he hums a little, trying to get it to go as fast as possible, spinning and spinning. Is there a limit on these things? It seems like they're going to be figuring that out today.

Still.. Even if other people think that smile is kinda freaky... Yuji thinks it's pretty cute. ]

I'LL SILENCE THAT FLAPPING MOUTH!!

[Dammit, why isn't there anything in this teacup to throw at him?! In lieu of that, Bakugo leans to the side and actively tries to swipe at Yuji right as their cups swing by each other. Misses, thanks for that you damn cup, but he tried!

Give him a few and he's going to start jumping from cup to cup to try and smack the sorcerer for being a Grade A brat. He grabs the turntable again to pick up the speed once more, head twisting to keep sight of Yuji, then snapping around at the very last second so he can avoid getting dizzy from spinning.

If only they had... fucking foam floaties or something to fight like a bunch of kids. Maybe this place has old prizes or something. Fake swords.]

How you gonna do that, huh? You wanna fight me, dandelion, or do you have something else in mind?

[ Yuji is laughing, absolutely gleeful as he ducks down and out of the way of Bakugo's hand, just enjoying the freedom that comes hand in hand with having a good time with a good friend. He wants to keep spinning, so he does, twisting that little table around and around until he can slump back in the cup with a huff of a laugh.

It's absolutely joyous, a kind of freedom he hasn't had for so, so long.

There's only so fast the teacups can go, though, on a ride designed for kids, and soon Yuji is pouting a little, shaking with laughter as he peers out over the top at Bakugo, shaking his head. ]

I've got a fist with your name on it!

[He might've had something else in mind a while ago. Childish, but hey, he's not a man yet, despite what he thinks. Bakugo snarls when he misses and the cup takes him away. Gonna have to wait for it to swing back around again to try for a second swipe. Never mind he could just jump cups easily enough. The cup's going pretty damn quick, enough that he stops spinning the turntable because something groaned a little dangerously a second ago. But the ride's still going strong. They built this place tough.

But Yuji's not the only one miffed they won't go faster and Bakugo glances to some of the other cups, debating on giving them a try. Or joining Yuji in his and double teaming the the turntable. That'd definitely break the cup.]

It's not a G-force machine, Gari Head. You want more speed, we'd have to turn on the fucking roller coaster.

That's mean!

[ If only he'd had any idea whatsoever...

Yuji looks around at all the other teacups and wonders if they can get more speed if they were to play with the electrics, but... Shaking his head, he grabs the wheel of his teacup and grips it, forcing it to slow down with an awkward, squeaking noise before he leans up and over at his friend.

Bite me!

[Snooze you lose. Some future event will do those feelings dirty.

It's not the electrics that could speed this up, but the make of the teacups themselves. Enough centrifugal force and imbalanced weight and the cups will rip right off their moorings. They're not designed for speed, especially with just one person's weight. And lbr, both these guys are solid stacks of muscle.

HA! YUJI SLOWED HIS DOWN FIRST!! BAKUGO WINS!! ... He just let his coast.

Teacups are boring; he implied that earlier!]

No way, you'd taste bad!

[ Yuji's definitely bitten people in a fight before...

Pushing himself up and out of his teacup properly, he slides back over towards the electronics. That was a great reprieve, but at the same time... He wants to do more fun things. He wants to come back once the mission is over and enjoy it as much as he possibly can.

Stretching his arms up, he looks over at his friend and nods. ]

NOT LITERALLY, DAMMIT!!

[Join the Bite My Enemies Club. Though Bakugo's only done it once or twice. Desperation/anger move.

He swings his legs out of the teacup in a vault rather than use the little door like a normal person. Then stalks through the cups on the floor as the entire thing slows down to a halt. All fun aside, this means the place is still running power. As he suspected, considering there's a fucking secret operation going on around here. They need to find a way in.

Arguably down. Bakugo snorts at his cheer, but passes Yuji with a tilt his head head to follow.]

Aim for that one. [And points towards a large roller coaster arching over other attractions.] We can see more of the park from atop it.

Sure, sure.

[ Is he being obtuse on purpose, or is he genuinely this dumb? Who can tell.

Yuji looks around at the electrics before he sighs. As fun as this was, it was kind of a dead end, and now they've got more of the park to investigate and figure out. If they can find their way to the bigger rollercoasters, they can either figure out the electric links or find some sign of the scientists.

Annoying.

Following after Bakugo without hesitation, he nods his head with a little smile. ]

Great idea! Even if it doesn't work, we can totally climb up.

[Yuji gets A Look for that agreement, but Bakugo doesn't rag on him further. He's used to Dumbuji.

It was a dead end the moment they did it, but for the smile and laughter he got out of Yuji, the blonde bomber's willing to accept it. At least it answered the question of the park being operational, albeit mostly turned off. That leaves a far more promising result of locating the people who are squirreled away in the park.]

You can probably make it to the top in one jump.

[Given Yuji's strength. Bakugo wouldn't have any trouble either with his Quirk.]

If we get it on, we need to let it run tw-

[-CRACK!!

Bakugo practically vanishes straight down the second Yuji will feel a tug across one ankle. That soft "ting" of a tripwire sends clattering rocks and debris plunging to the bottom of the pit, with the hero's hand white-knuckling on the rim of the new hole.]

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!

It doesn't seem all that high, so...

[ Yeah, he could definitely jump that high, without hesitation. It can't be higher than the twenty stories when he was trying to fight That Guy before, so...

It's a good thing to consider, and he's trying to make the judgement as he walks until, suddenly, there's a tug and a thump, a shift, and then there's a moment of utter whiplash before -

- oh. Oh!

Slipping over, he peers over the edge of the hole with wide eyes to stare at Bakugo, horrified but also... Trying not to laugh.

Sorry buddy. ]

Dandelion! Didn't you know about the traps!

[ C'mon, dude! Leaning down, he offers a hand awkwardly. ]

[Screw the high jumps! He's looking down at the fucking (shoddy) spikes at the bottom of this shitty pit! Snarling at the very gall of these people to put a fucking trap under his feet, Bakugo slams his other hand onto the rim of the hole, looking like a furious beast for the insult.

Just in time to see Yuji up there, slashed between two obvious emotions.]

Laugh and you're dead.

[He gauges the distance, then pulls with one hand to heft himself and claps onto Yuji's hand with the other.]

I didn't trip shit!

[Right. Traps were an advertised part of the park.]
