[OPEN ] hello,
So whichever location your character happens through, be it to grab a bite to eat or to head to the Kyoto base, there's a(n unfairly) handsome man with silky silver hair and serious, piercing blue eyes, his choice of clothing on the fancier side of casual. He leans against the nearby wall with his arms crossed, as those intense eyes fall on you. ]
Hey. [ He calls out, and gets right to the point. ] Your name?
no subject
Is it not common courtesy to introduce yourself first on your planet?
no subject
I don't care what order people go in! I'm just making sure I become acquainted with everybody as swiftly as possible.
[ At that, though, since he doesn't actually give much of a shit about order of things here (at least he's honest and straightforward about it), his already straight and proper posture seems to tighten up even more and he tips his chin up when he speaks again, proud. ]
Lieutenant Colonel Yzak Jule. [ Emphasis on that title, because wow he's soooooo cool. ]
no subject
Dr. Ratio. Scholar and educator. A pleasure, colonel.
[ Was that just a bit of sarcasm behind that word? Nah, you must be hearing things. ]
Is that all? If so, leave me be.

Who, me?
[ Cheeky. He knows he’s the only one here. ]
Not the politest way I’ve been asked for an introduction, but if you’re that interested, my name is Winter. And you are?
no subject
It's not like I'm threatening people! [ A cranky response at most - all bark and no bite. But at least this guy still goes on to oblige, so he's placated easily enough. (and it's not like he's unused to hearing about his personality) ]
But of course I'm that interested. I've only just recently arrived, and it'd be stupid not to get acquainted with the people I'm going to be fighting alongside here.
I'm Lieutenant Colonel Yzak Jule. [ The rank probably gives away why he's so set on doing this. Ever the dutiful soldier. ]

You're quite the serious type, aren't you, Lieutenant Colonel?

[ OPEN ] gundam time
Completely different from the standard cockpit setup... I'll have to test-run a bunch of system checks to see how it handles like this.
[ He frowns after a moment, brow furrowing. ]
Why did it have to get so small?
no subject
What's this?
[ Playing dumb. ]
no subject
Yzak peers over his shoulder when he hear Elan enter. And not knowing who this guy is outside of the fact that he's another ally here, he doesn't find it an issue to share. ]
It's a mobile suit. [ He looks back to the pair of them.] Both mine and my partner's. Weapons from where we come from that we'll be using on these missions.
They should be a hell of lot bigger, though! [ Here he goes falling into a small tangent, bristling up slightly. ] They've been altered due to their size, but I don't understand why! If we're supposed accomplish what we're here to do, them coming in as-is should have been fine!
no subject
So, he's enjoying his continued anonymity as he waves his hand in the air, tone flippant and a touch insincere. ]
Really? Well that's too bad, but it doesn't surprise me. They're always skimping on us! Salary, weapons, even anesthetics...
[ There is a different mobile suit hanging out in dispatch, but whose could it be. It's a mystery. ]

[Taryon recognizes the design from the one Elan uses, and he forgets that he has to head to work to run over and admire the large, intricate robot.]
Do you know Elan? He's got one of these, too! How's this one different? [It's obviously a different model, and Taryon cannot put his mind at ease when he doesn't understand how it works.]
no subject
[ It takes Yzak a moment, when he turns to Taryon and lets the word Gundam sit with him. ]
Oh, right. [ And the way he responds implies that he isn't unfamiliar with the term - they just don't call Gundams Gundams where he comes from - GUNDAM is just the acronym of the operating systems on the super special giant robots.
And then his expression drops into a somewhat annoyed little scowl at what he says next! ]
Huh!? Yeah, I met him! Why the hell didn't he tell me that other machine was his when we were both right here!? [ How dare Yzak not get information immediately???? Wow! ]
no subject
[But no, Yzak does not respond positively. Instead, it seems like Taryon has walked into and instigated some sort of complex drama between others. Again. He somehow has a habit of doing that no matter the universe.]
...I don't know.
[Elan is an alright kid, but how is he supposed to know what's going on in his head?]
He doesn't like talking about it?

[ OPEN ] BIG MA(I)D
Right now? He's just mad because he's being forced into something humiliating. And humiliation aside, Yzak hates being forced into anything, the bristly little control freak that he is. He runs into your character red-faced and breathless, having been chasing Seok Dang down the corridors with a loud clacking of his heels (heavy footsteps, clearly uncomfortable and unused to the shoes), but the other man seems to have given Yzak the slip. So now the focus of this beautiful man in a dress is on you. ]
You! Which way did that bastard go!? Did you see?
no subject
Ah-- sorry. I'm just-- Sorry, who?
no subject
[ The near collision nearly knocks Yzak off of his already unstable feet, too. Thankfully he manages to throw an arm out and brace himself on a wall before falling into Raidou completely. (and boy would that have been embarrassing!)
He quickly collects himself to the best of his ability, standing straight up save for the way his legs are spread apart with his knees awkwardly bent. ]
The one who did this! [ He waves his hand maybe a little TOO dramatically over his dress. ] The Seok Dang guy!

[ OPEN ] out and about
Back to the point; his given job for his whole fake background, however...
He's been around the base enough by now that even if he's not properly met any new teammates, he's seen faces enough that he'll recognize them out in the wild (and they can likewise recognize him). So with that in mind, Yzak can be interacted with here in two instances!
A. He's peering into various shops. While he's more drawn to ones that have trinkets and good luck charms and the like, he's curious (nosy) enough to check out anything that catches his attention. That includes any establishments your character might be working at or checking out themself!
B. He's lurking around a small, but cozy-looking cat-cafe. He doesn't go inside or anything, but he has one finger curled up under his chin and has a contemplative look about him as he stares into the window. He's clearly considering something, here. ]
b;
He stops next to Yzak and looks through the window, too, trying to figure out what's so fascinating. Like cats are great, but you might as well go inside.]
You're not allergic or something, are you?
no subject
He's not so engrossed that he doesn't notice someone approach him, so he glances to the side - and ah, he's seen this guy in passing back at the base.
So with another look in the other direction to make sure nobody else has ears that talking can fall upon... ]
No, I'm not. [ Allergies - at least within the reality of his own world - aren't something his people get often.
And then, despite the fact that he just checked and was in the clear, Yzak still drops his voice when he continues as a precaution. ]
The job ... assigned to and set up for me was one of these places. Which is ridiculous, if you ask me - I have so many talents I could be putting to use! And I have no intention of actually working out here at all if I don't have to.
But if I do require extra funds for one reason or another, it would be smartest to stick to my story so I don't cause any suspicion.

[ CLOSED / Dearka ] awakening
He's never been this absolutely wet and slimy, though. So this it's a new experience when he comes to and is down on his hands and knees, head shaking to flick what he can from blocking his vision, drops splashing from his hair. He's soaked and his lack of anything but undergarments means that after a couple of beats he becomes aware of that with the chill he feels crawl over his bare skin coming into contact with the open air. But that doesn't matter: what matters immediately is information. Where he is. What's happened. Who else is there with him. Seize understanding and thus hopefully control of the situation because in this moment he is lost and confused and feels helpless—
The glisten of golden hair near him even through the goo is something he can't miss, clearly waking up to whatever the fuck this is, just like he is. Dearka. He's not alone here. More than that, he's not alone here (because there is a difference between the two). Yzak turns his head toward his partner and opens his mouth. ]
Dea- hgk!
[ He's cut off by a brief bout of coughing, choking on some of the fluid. Gross. ]
Damn it...! [ He grumbles to himself as he sit up and wipes his mouth with the back of his hand ... which doesn't do much when the hand is ALSO gooey, but, you know. ]
no subject
Not that the Earth Forces ever shoved him in a goo filled pod; that angle is entirely new. But his history does put a spin on his immediate reaction upon waking that is just ever so slightly different. A contradictory tinge of familiarity towards the sensation of waking up somewhere so utterly un-familiar; for his first few semi-conscious moments, his mind his floating through a bleary haze as much his body is floating through that draining stasis fluid. And he is flung, in an abstract sense, back to those early days aboard the Archangel... Back to before his cell ceased to be a surprising place to wake up in. Before his feelings of shame and loneliness became ever-present companions upon which he'd reflect.
As confusing and distressing as that all would be on it's own, the coughing and spluttering he goes through in the process of waking from his pod, in tandem with the others in the room, only adds to the unpleasantness. It's the sound of a very familiar, very agitated squawk which finally spurs Dearka into action; it snaps him out of his uncertain spiral, and makes him push through the stress of acclimating faster than he otherwise might have.]
Y... Yzak!
[He's still half blinded by slime, but he viciously shoulders his way out of the pod and barely manages to keep his footing as he staggers free, stumbling to his friend's side in seconds. Dearka, who is usually so calm these days, is absolutely bristling as they unite, glaring suspiciously around the room even as he's still trying to blink stasis fluid out of one eye at a time. He looks like he's about ready to bite anyone who gets within 5 ft of either of them.]
Oy... Just what the hell is going on here...!?
no subject
But it's not hard to quickly get the impression that whatever is going on ... there's no active threat to them in this room. Not that it does much because Yzak still does lot let himself lower his defenses, something is still clearly here, somewhere close if not in this very room. He shifts a leg so he can rise to kneel on one knee, an arm reaching up to Dearka to help hoist him up the rest of the way - quickly and wordlessly for he trusts the other will react and move to give him the hand up. ]
I don't know—
[ Of course with the way they're both very slippery, he doesn't opt for his hand or even his forearm, but rather to grab behind his elbow. And even that's a bit of a struggle, but Yzak gets up onto his feet and immediately takes a step to the left so he's not standing in all of that goo. Don't want to chance slipping right back down onto his ass. ]
That voice. Did you hear it, too? [ He turns his head to look over his shoulder at the pod he was just so unceremoniously dropped out of. ] Just a moment ago. [ "Your questions will be answered soon enough." Yet even with that promise, Yzak narrows his eyes with heavy suspicion. ]
