WHAT: The gang parking together at night to swap information about the things they've found in their investigations, night watches around a fire, ghost stories......? General tomfoolery in the desert where there's no one else for miles. Cooking their hunts in successes and mishaps?

[ for once, denji looks genuinallyβ uncomfortable, and perhaps a bit skittish. he then glanced over his shoulder, peering through the crowd behind them and wondering if aki was nearby. no? good. ]

I prefer swords, but I am proficient with firearms as well. Though, this sort is new to me.
["Proficient" he says, with aim like that.]
It's good to be well-rounded, as a sword isn't always effective against demons in my world. You don't want to be caught off guard.

[ a mild tease, but he's not judging. denji gets it; he gets the thrill behind wielding a powerful weapon on a personal level. if that's something to lighten his fellow teammate's mood - he won't bug him too much. he approached him anyway, idly eyeing the massive gun. ]
You never told me about the demons in your world. Do they have names and certain perks?

Ah. Well, it's a very general term, demons or devils... it includes yokai, monsters, crypids, even myths and legendary figures. Sometimes even a god. So their "perks" are as varied as they are. Different skills and abilities, different spells, or boosts.
[A thought strikes him.] Have you met Amamiya? What he works with he calls "persona", but they are remarkably similar to what I know as demons.

[ now that's a word they never speak of back home. it's strange β that denji knew of devils and hell, he'd been there himself twice, but he never thought of god, angels, and heaven. hmm, interesting. he shakes his head, not recognizing that name nor has ever heard of a 'persona'. ]
Do you guys use contracts with each creature? You give something of yourself in exchange of using their abilities?

A contract not be quite the right term. An agreement, a pact. Demons want different things from you. Some want an ally, or companionship, or sometimes just even money. [Hell has its own currency. Go figure.] In exchange for their help, they can use my energy to make themselves more powerful. Though we call it magnetite, or mag. I'm not capable of casting spells on my own, so their help is vital to me.
[Raidou is normally fairly quiet, speaking often in short clips. This gives the impression of information he's used to reciting.]

The devils at your home are nicer. It doesn't work that way for us. A devil wants something from you in exchange for their powers. If you're willing to sacrifice an arm, eye, your legs, or even your soul ... only then they will serve you.
[ a pause, he then smiled. ]
Not all of them are bad, though.

He can relate, though. He thinks all of his demons are the best, too. But when asked if he can show them off, he looks a little sad, shaking his head.]
I would if I could. I was sent here without any of my demons. And it seems this world doesn't have them, or at least not as I know them.
[Kaiju are not demons. None yet have been, anyway.]
As a summoner, I can only use magic to help power and protect those I work with. I can't use spells like an onmyouji or exorcist would.

While I may not have my demons, I am trying other things. There are those among the Outsiders who, by their nature, resemble demons. I want to offer my power to those who might be able to utilize it. It has worked once so far. It's given me a goal. [And some hope.]
