( open; ) summer episode part 2?

WHO: Any Outsider is more than welcome!
WHAT: Dating shows... I was bullied.
WHERE: Between Okinawa & Neo Tokyo.
WHEN: Throughout the remainder of July (listen, it's a production)!
WARNINGS: Partial nudity, alcohol, potential suggestive topics, and will update 'em as I see 'em!

Throughout the city of Neo Tokyo and even Okinawa, there will be advertisements posted by the hundreds (and spam mail to your oculars by an equal number), desiring candidates for a show. While the aftermath of vegas and other bleak instances might have led way for people practicing some semblance of moderation— opposite to that, the people also need their entertainment, don't they?

Fortunately, there will be an influx of dating shows looking for people to appear. They are offering a fairly decent amount of money and are even offering luxury experiences for free for participants. In this economy and food shortage??? Okay, the food may be lacking, but they do make up for it in various activities they have planned, where people can kick back, relax, and romance?

While there will be any number of shows looking for interested parties, these are the main shows/premises:

SPEED DATING

As the label suggests. People will be expected to sit down and switch through several partners. In their hands will be a card labeling who they encounter and a place to leave a check mark. They will also be given a list of questions that can be answered.

PARTNER SWAP

People can be on a show and swap partners. This doesn't necessarily need to be romantic, either. Have a friend you want to show up with, cool. The only rules are that the pairs who enter together cannot stay together during the duration of the show.

SINGLES INFERNO

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be trapped on a deserted island with other hot singles? Well, now you no longer have to wonder. They will need to cook and fend for themselves here with minimal activities or distraction— but, isn't that the point? All you need to focus on is each other! (* They will be ferried to an outer island by Okinawa). While on the island, which they label as inferno, it's also a rule that one cannot speak about their age, occupation, or any such personal details. All of this will be reserved for "paradise." To go to paradise, two individuals will need to pick one another, and if they do — they are able to go on to completed various luxury experiences together.

For those who would rather find paradise in inferno together, you can presume there are tents that act as shared dormitory quarters where contestants will stay together.

DATE ME

People are free to use this for just general dates. Maybe, you just want to finesse the system and enjoy a fun all-expense-paid for date in which you get to eat like relative kings and enjoy various experiences. Feel free to use anything in the setting to your desire.

SKINSHIP STARTER

... a show where you get paid the more skinship you do. Don't do anything you wouldn't do in a Wendy's though. (That's not how the saying actually goes).

COMMENTARY PANEL

Every good dating show needs those who simply sit and commentate, right?

* It can be assumed any of this is just open to general CR you want to spend time with, too. This is just supposed to be a silly log for chances for characters to get to know one another! Characters are more than welcome to assume they stumble upon this by accident, think it's just a basic job and can't leave, film or unfilmed (minus the commentary prompt), and whatever else! Feel free to tag freely, threadjack, etc!

[ Yesod has also never wondered what it would be like to be trapped on a deserted island with other hot singles (or anyone, for that matter), but here he is for reasons of some sort that make sense at some point, catching sight of Gebura by the ocean. Gebura approaching the ocean, fully clothed, the water rising past her ankles, soon to lap against her calves...

Yesod follows — cautiously enough, but he might sink at this rate. ]

Gebura—

[ And suddenly he's gone, disappearing beneath the water's surface. ]

[ There's a familiar voice and she can at least respond amiably enough to her colleagues (even though Yesod being there makes even less sense than Gebura being there). And she turns, just in time to see Yesod go under the water.

It truly never is a dull day, she thinks to herself, instantly plunging both hands into the ocean to try and grasp at whatever of him is within reach. If she has to go under, she will, but why the hell did he follow her if he was just going to sink?? ]

[ His colleagues are here and he has admittedly been concerned about Netzach since Netzach's memories as Giovanni have begun to return and affect him... Gebura walking into the ocean is concerning as well, but for the moment, Yesod must regret his decisions today upon discovering that the ground unexpectedly turns into a steep slope in this particular spot. While Malkuth informed both him and Netzach that they would be "fine to take a dip" as part of her assessment after she had completed their maintenance, despite noticing some rusting, it's likely that submerging themselves entirely isn't ideal...

Thank you for the rescue, Gebura. Let him try to salvage his dignity while dripping water. ]

[ She's lifting him straight out, honestly, so there's no dignity to be found here before she's just kind of bundling him under her arm like a football and striding back to shore to place him on solid ground.

She won't say anything until she's certain he's actually fine (as he can be), but once she is-- ]

So, what the hell was that about?

[ This certainly reminds him of Gebura having to carry Netzach (stuck wearing his avatar, no less) back from the celebrations that Wriothesley didn't want... Fortunately, he isn't waterlogged, and he doesn't have to catch his breath — the cloaking device simply makes him look drenched, his hair in disarray and his clothing clinging to his skin.

Once he has his feet on sand that won't slide away with the waves and sweep the ground out from under him, upright to straighten his posture and cross his arms, he means to thank Gebura, but her question comes first. ]

...I could ask you that as well. In fact, that was precisely what I intended to do before we were interrupted.

[ Maybe LILITH had the right idea, not bringing Yesod in a more human-like form. At least his machine self is faring better. ]

... Interrupted.

[ It's a single word and yet Gebura says it with a kind of heaviness because no, he doesn't get to act like that was an adorable little interruption. ]

You mean before you lost your footing and also lost to the ocean.

[ He could have learned to swim... in a wetsuit... In any case, now that no one is in the water, Yesod will make another attempt to locate his lost dignity. ]

...Yes. I must admit that it caught me by surprise, and I am grateful for your intervention, Gebura.

[ And he concedes that it was a very inconvenient interruption. ]

[ Maybe one day he'll get there. But she studies him for a moment longer, than sighs. ]

I was looking for seaweed.

[ Studying Gebura in turn, Yesod frowns. Seaweed... As absurd as it sounds, he's certain that Gebura is perfectly serious. ]

Then you're planning to resume your search?

[ Whether or not the explanation is plausible, it doesn't eliminate the possible risks of wading out into the ocean, wearing shoes, as well as layers of fabric that will absorb the water, even for Gebura in a human body capable of staying afloat. ]

Well, I didn't get a chance to grab any before the interruption happened.

[ Ain't that right, Yesod? ]

What are you even doing here? Did Malkuth do this?

[ Maybe he should ask her why she needs seaweed at all... Her question isn't surprising, on the other hand — they are both quite out of place. ]

Correct. That is presumably the case for all of us, and I suppose it was out of concern.

[ Given everything lately... ]

I believe she also enjoys taking advantage of deals aimed at couples.

... Of course she does. Well, here's hoping she didn't rope Vergilius into this either.

[ Two Color Fixers dragged into dating shows. The worst. ]

I guess this is better than Vegas.

[ Connecting the dots, Vergilius must be the person for whom Malkuth's outfit surprise was intended, months ago — and the person to whom she was referring in certain conversations that took place in response to Ishmael's discussion regarding happy memories.

And this is where Yesod reminds himself that none of it is any of his business. ]

...It has been less chaotic, thus far. Would you like me to join you in searching for seaweed?

[ Away from the water... Even if the authentic impromptu rescue has apparently met with (unwanted) approval — the accompanying exchange most likely excluded — and they may be encouraged to keep it up, as if he followed Gebura for some romantic reason, disregarding the fact that he can't swim. ]

Do you have specific size requirements in mind?

I just need it to be longer than the pieces on the coast.

[ Simple enough, in her opinion. ]

I did bother to check before I went into the water, you know. I'm not that reckless.

[ Well. That remains to be seen. But it's true that she's calmed down considerably from her time at Lobotomy Corp. ]

[ Yesod would prefer additional detail in terms of the desired length and width, but none of it answers why Gebura is intent on finding seaweed in the first place. She seems affronted by his offer, besides, and it's possible that he should be more mindful of his remarks — though of course this isn't the same as learning that Elijah believed that Gabriel hated her.

He shakes his head. ]

I merely thought that a joint effort would cover more ground and shorten an expanded search. Is there a particular objective to fulfill?

[ Perhaps the seaweed will become an emergency substitute for a length of rope on a deserted island? ]

My hair tie broke and I'd like to keep my hair pulled back and out of the way.

[ Well, then. ]

But it also wouldn't hurt to harvest it as a food source and as rope. [ So. Yesod isn't entirely wrong, either. Sometimes you just assume you're not going to Paradise or whatever so toy make the best of it. ]

I see.

[ Every part of Gebura's explanation makes perfect sense now, and Yesod accepts it with a nod. That said, the idea of having to resort to seaweed in place of a hair tie is slightly off-putting, no matter how resourceful it is... Unfortunately, Yesod isn't able to tear off a section of the strips wrapped around his robot body to offer to Gebura instead, and he isn't sure whether it can be done with the garments that LILITH's technology produces.

He'll attempt it, at least, unfastening his tie. ]

I grew distracted earlier, but the shallower areas should be safe.

[ And now he's stripping. Well, okay. ]

Extend a leg out first. If it feels unstable, turn back.

[ Just in case. She can fish him out of the ocean again, no problem, but Yesod probably doesn't want a repeat of that, and she sure doesn't. ]

[ It's fine, he stops after removing his tie, everything else still neatly buttoned and less wet in appearance. Nodding once more to acknowledge Gebura's advice, Yesod tries to tear the tie into strips in order to hand one over. ]

Yes... I'd like to avoid further mishaps. Particularly if we will be here awhile longer.

[ I have no idea how this will work, but we sure can try!! ]

She definitely owes us both for this.

[ What a dark mutter, definitely what a supportive coworker would say-- ]

[ Same here... But at that, Yesod glances up from picking at a seam of his tie. He studies Gebura, who undoubtedly has her hands full here once again. ]

We must seem in need of it. It isn't a terrible experience, if all of us are able to enjoy it in some manner.

[ Despite the production team's expectations. ]

[ She's just sort of lifting an eyebrow at him. Okay, yes, very few of them possess Malkuth's desire to Be Where The People Are, and maybe to her that means they're missing out on Life's Delights, but at the same time-- ]

Are you enjoying it, Yesod?

[ Yes, go on. She'd like to hear this. ]

[ He understands Gebura's expression, and he won't lie. ]

Currently, no. However, if the rest of you experience things that fit the description, that suffices.

[ Because he wants to see that, after everything that happened across their lives. ]

...And if she means to make up for lost time, thinking of us, that is enjoyable.

[ It has been, elsewhere. ]

Maybe that's the case for you, since I know she avoided you [ which seems inane to her, still ] for a while, but if that's really the case, she really should have just brought you and Netzach along.

[ She's not from the Asiyah layer. Those four had eventually formed their own bond, even though Malkuth may be the only one with a stronger idea of it right now. ]

I'll put up with it for now, but I'm fine with never doing something like this again.

[ No, he doubts that Malkuth wanted all of them here for that reason — it doesn't fit alongside her previous efforts. What he doesn't doubt is that she thought of them, that she meant well.

The things exacerbated are not Malkuth's fault. ]

[ Finally succeeding in separating a reasonably evenly-sized long piece of his tie from what remains of it, Yesod holds it out to Gebura. ]
