WHAT: Dating shows... I was bullied.
WHERE: Between Okinawa & Neo Tokyo.
WHEN: Throughout the remainder of July (listen, it's a production)!
WARNINGS: Partial nudity, alcohol, potential suggestive topics, and will update 'em as I see 'em!

Throughout the city of Neo Tokyo and even Okinawa, there will be advertisements posted by the hundreds (and spam mail to your oculars by an equal number), desiring candidates for a show. While the aftermath of vegas and other bleak instances might have led way for people practicing some semblance of moderation— opposite to that, the people also need their entertainment, don't they?

Fortunately, there will be an influx of dating shows looking for people to appear. They are offering a fairly decent amount of money and are even offering luxury experiences for free for participants. In this economy and food shortage??? Okay, the food may be lacking, but they do make up for it in various activities they have planned, where people can kick back, relax, and romance?

While there will be any number of shows looking for interested parties, these are the main shows/premises:

  SPEED DATING  

As the label suggests. People will be expected to sit down and switch through several partners. In their hands will be a card labeling who they encounter and a place to leave a check mark. They will also be given a list of questions that can be answered.

  PARTNER SWAP  

People can be on a show and swap partners. This doesn't necessarily need to be romantic, either. Have a friend you want to show up with, cool. The only rules are that the pairs who enter together cannot stay together during the duration of the show.

  SINGLES INFERNO  

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be trapped on a deserted island with other hot singles? Well, now you no longer have to wonder. They will need to cook and fend for themselves here with minimal activities or distraction— but, isn't that the point? All you need to focus on is each other! (* They will be ferried to an outer island by Okinawa). While on the island, which they label as inferno, it's also a rule that one cannot speak about their age, occupation, or any such personal details. All of this will be reserved for "paradise." To go to paradise, two individuals will need to pick one another, and if they do — they are able to go on to completed various luxury experiences together.

For those who would rather find paradise in inferno together, you can presume there are tents that act as shared dormitory quarters where contestants will stay together.

  DATE ME  

People are free to use this for just general dates. Maybe, you just want to finesse the system and enjoy a fun all-expense-paid for date in which you get to eat like relative kings and enjoy various experiences. Feel free to use anything in the setting to your desire.

  SKINSHIP STARTER  

... a show where you get paid the more skinship you do. Don't do anything you wouldn't do in a Wendy's though. (That's not how the saying actually goes).

  COMMENTARY PANEL  

Every good dating show needs those who simply sit and commentate, right?

* It can be assumed any of this is just open to general CR you want to spend time with, too. This is just supposed to be a silly log for chances for characters to get to know one another! Characters are more than welcome to assume they stumble upon this by accident, think it's just a basic job and can't leave, film or unfilmed (minus the commentary prompt), and whatever else! Feel free to tag freely, threadjack, etc!

[ If Ratio was any other person, maybe he would have swooned at being pulled so close to another. But alas, it is Veritas Ratio, and he is far too out of touch with what the general populace considers romantic to think of this being any more than an individual concerned when his foot catches on a piece of deadwood hidden under sand.

It's not a mistake he'd usually make. It was just a momentary lapse in attention as he contemplated his current, humiliating circumstances. But his cheeks flush in embarrassment anyway, knowing that all of this was being filmed and a certain someone would be watching. ]

[ Gebura stares at him, and thankfully he doesn't swoon, because she would not know what to do with That except probably drop him. Which maybe she should have done anyway, given his...

... She's not going to consider it an order, because she doesn't answer to anyone here, but she is going to push him slightly more upright as she steps back, one hand resting on her hip. Well.

(Hopefully Aventurine's the fun kind of jealous, for his sake, said Kia and not Gebura who does not know who either of them are.) ]

[ Look. This was Aventurine's idea. Somehow Ratio had gotten himself accidentally kidnapped by the show's producers (and really who could blame them? Ratio is eyecandy.), and when he informed his partner through the ocular implant, the damn gambler had had the audacity to laugh and tell him to go with the show, because he'd be watching.

There aren't enough words to adequately express how much he wants to throttle Aventurine right now. If the gambler gets jealous as a result of whatever Ratio ends up getting into, he only has himself to blame. ]

It will not happen again.

[ In a very classic tsundere move, he crosses his arms and turns his head away with a hmph. But other than that... this is going to be a very awkward scenario for him, Gebura and everyone watching... no doubt the producers will be urging them to say something after a few long minutes of silence. ]

[ The producer can go take a long walk off a short pier, as far as Gebura is concerned, who is here also because of kidnapping. Well, she would have probably thrashed a few of the producers soundly if they'd tried, but colleagues get slightly more willingness. Not due to a desire to date, of course. Right now, she's feeling anything but.

Yeah, never going along with Malkuth's ideas ever again. ]

I'd lift your feet up a little more when you walk, then.

[ There. Look. She's talking. ]

[ His eye twitches at her advice, pride rankled at being told to do something so basic and obvious. ]

I am aware. It won't happen again.

[ Of course, the producers aren't pleased with his less-than-friendly tone and beam messages at him through the implants. Ugh. He sighs, exhaling as he tamps down on his irritation. It's the show he has a problem with, not his fellow Outsider. ]

...I don't believe we've had the pleasure of conversing before.

I wouldn't exactly call being stuck here a pleasure in any kind of sense. [ Okay, killjoy. ]

[ ... Right, the producers. Haaa. ]

Yes, I most certainly mentioned this location in my statement, and not that I wished for the pleasure of speaking with you. Though perhaps I ought to revise it, seeing as— [ He stops as warning pop-ups obscure his sight, the producers in a panic to stop him from finishing his sentence.

He is going to throttle Aventurine. ]

[ It... definitely feels strange to have someone address her with that name, and she wonders if maybe she should change it... a little too late now, probably. ]

[ The tension in Ratio's shoulders relaxes slightly. ]

Then there is no longer any need to keep up pretenses. Let us treat each other as acquaintances do. I trust you have no complaints?

[ The producers are definitely screaming at both of them now, but he doesn't care. It's their fault for kidnapping a taken man. No romance for the show, I guess!! ]

[ What was that? Someone sounding useless and not worth listening to? Delightful! ]

[ Does she look like she would hit on anyone ]

[ Look, Ratio doesn't even know how to hit on a person. You're safe Gebura.

He's at a loss on how to proceed though... but he decides in the end to give up playing along entirely. He's certain his partner has already had his fill of entertainment watching Ratio try his best with the speed dating. ]

Good. Let us find a space to retreat to while we wait for this farce to be over with.

No one should be at the tables right now.

[ They're frolicking in the ocean or talking quietly under a palm tree or something. It's good enough, as far as she's concerned. ]

[ He nods in assent. ]

[ She was already walking, so she just nods and continues to walk! It truly is a nice-looking island, for all that she's not really paying attention to it. Instead, she finally stops at a table where there's a bunch of unpeeled fruit, just chilling in the middle. ]

Yeah, this looks like it should be fine.

[ The producers have fallen silent, having seemingly given up on the pair for now, so Ratio takes a seat with a relieved sigh, grateful for the chance to relax after having to deal with the show's ridiculousness. ]

The island is far more pleasant without the racket of this vacuous game.

[ She's reaching for an orange, to peel it. ]

Yeah, I'd agree with that. If people aren't trying to hook up anywhere near me, things are already better.

[ He only watches, making no motion for a fruit himself. ]

I take it then that you are especially disinclined towards romantic relationships.

It's not high on my list of priorities, no.

Taking care of the problem with the kaiju, protecting what I need to, maybe getting some sparring in.

[ So she is of the more practical type. Those were the easiest to get along with. ]

If I may, what is your style of combat?

[bemist]

I use a blade normally and when I don't have that, I use whatever's available.

[ Fixer life. Fight with what you have. Fight with what you find. Survive. ]

[ So close combat, or a brawler who makes do with what they have. He files that information away in his mind even as it generates potential scenarios where he may call upon her aid. After the last kaiju mission, he's been wanting to know how the other Outsiders fight. ]

A contrast to myself then. I prefer to attack from a range, if I must fight. However, my preference is to support combatants through other means.

[ Just as he had with the sand worm, where he had been coordinating the Outsiders through the ocular network. ]

[bemist]

"Other means"? Like what?

[ Similarly to Elysium? Some kind of debuffing tactics? Or guiding from a distance? Support could mean anything. ]
