The decision has been made. LILITH Japan orders the Outsiders to mobilize to pursue the Imugi.
Given that they are in a foreign country, they are largely dependent on LILITH Koreaโs resources. In response to the decision, the Korean branch provides some assistance: the Outsiders are given just enough vehicles to help transport them, essential supplies, and only a few operatives to help guide them. This is the most the Korean branch is able to give, as they must focus on relocating people and restoring peace following the attack.
LILITH announces that the Imugi is currently resting near Gangneung on the east coast and they must move quickly. The effects of Rift poisoning will grow stronger as they approach the source; a sign that they are close to a kaiju. Upon reaching the mountains just outside the city, LILITH informs them that they are right on top of its location.
However, there is no Imugi to be found. After searching the area, Outsiders will discover the source of the trace and the poisoning: eggs. They will find about twelve eggs. When they report their findings, Seokdang will curse. In their rush, they had followed the wrong trace. They didnโt track down an injured and resting Imugi—they tracked down the Imugiโs nest. So where is the Imugi?
Not long after, Outsiders will receive an update on their implants: the Imugi reappeared in Seoul. After seeing the corpse of its mate, it went berserk and attacked the city again. While many of the citizens were evacuated to nearby Incheon and remaining shelters, just as many perished, with the death toll at 168,000 and rising. LILITHโs Korean base is destroyed.
The Imugi was last seen flying north, but the Korean government prohibits the Outsiders from pursuing it again through their territory. By choosing to pursue the kaiju, the Outsiders have abandoned humanity and thus will receive no further support. They are ordered to leave the country immediately.
LILITH Japan will order them to collect as many eggs as possible and continue to the abandoned city of Gangneung, where they will arrange pick up and return to base in Tokyo.
โถ AFTERWORD.
Thanks everyone for participating in our first major Event Decision! We hope you had fun discussing what to do both ICly and OOCly.
After failing to capture the second Imugi and also failing to save a large portion of Seoul's population, characters will be shipped back to Japan. The events of the TDM will springboard from there. Feel free to use this post to thread out any aftermath threads if you would like.

Then her smile crumples. She opens her hand out for March. She's blinking a lot. Oh no... ]
Um... [ Her voice is tight and wobbly. She gives something between a hiccup, a sob, and an embarrassed laugh, like she wishes this wasn't happening but she can't really stop it. ] March...
[ Marcille immediately wraps her arms around March and tucks her face into her shoulder.
This is the first time she's crying it out with someone else hugging her. She's not about to become a wailing snotfest, thankfully, but she does quietly shed a few tears before giving March a squeeze.
She'll fill in for the discrepancy, then, moving one arm if just to rest a hand on her head and stroke her hair. She's not letting go until Marcille pulls back, but she doesn't say anything either.
What can she say? There isn't anything that will make this better, no magic words. She knows that. ]
[ It's so comforting, being held and having a hand in her hair. There's another rush of guilt down her body, cold enough to make the back of her neck prickle. Do they deserve comfort? She's questioning every good thing they have. She still can't let March go just yet, just for that minute.
Finally, she loosens and breaks the circle of her arms around March. She sits back in her seat and quickly wipes her eyes on her hoodie sleeves. ]
Sorry... I'm sorry. [ Another sob-hiccup-laugh, softer this time. ] I didn't even say hi to you.
Offering me food is just as good as saying hi, in my book!
[ With a laugh, a little breathless. ]
It's okay, seriously. I think sometimes we don't feel like we can do anything else until we let ourselves cry. Kind of like another form of processing, you know?
I think it's more like... if we want to keep trying to help people, we have to make sure we're in a good enough position to support first. Though I get it. I'm still sorta processing it myself.
If anyone's really in a good position after everything that's happened, I'd worry about that person a little... But some people here are used to tragedies like those, I think.
[ She searches March's expression carefully before looking back at her hands folded on the table. ]
I'm definitely not one of them, though. Or at least not someone who's been responsible for that many people all at once. What about you?
Though I guess I was told that my memories were sealed "for my own good", so maybe I did deal with something like this before. For now, though... even when a lot of people have been in danger, my crew's been able to protect most of them. Nothing like this.
[ For comfort's sake, Marcille keeps one of March's hands in hers. ]
I remember... I think you told me about your memories being sealed away a long time ago. I really can't imagine you doing anything that bad at all, March. Not on purpose.
The Astral Express! [ She'll squeeze Marcille's hand in lieu of responding to the first part. She can't imagine committing some kind of awful crime either, but she really doesn't know who she was before she... wasn't. ]
Himeko, who's really cool and beautiful and does lovely things with her hair... Mister Yang, who's kind of like everyone's tired dad, Dan Heng, who could stand to smile more, and our newest recruit who really likes... trash cans.
[ Hair obviously gets Marcille's attention with the way her ears lift, but then again, she's giving every word March says all of her attention already. Getting to know her more is already a good distraction, and Marcille has been meaning to do so regardless. ]

[ Let's gently put the pork bun down. But then she's scooting closer and wrapping her arms around Marcille with a shaky sigh. ]
I know. I'm here.

Yeah. It's just a little embarrassing in front of other people.
[ Except she does this kind of a lot. She briefly lowers her eyes back to the table, that weak smile fading. ]
It's hard, feeling like you deserve being comforted like that after everything that happened. Anyway, how are you feeling?

Trash cans?
