( OTA ) Driver's Education?
If you go to investigate though, no one is around. The car is just sitting there in the open with the windshield wipers going. It isn't even raining.
When you get close enough to it... the car alarm suddenly goes off and it starts beep-beep-beeping loudly, lights flashing.)
Oooh! So it can make noise even when I'm not inside.
(Says a very amused voice nearby. It's Tsurumaru holding the keys to the car.
Alternatively, feel free to run into him in the garage or around base and ask him about his NEW WHEELS.)
no subject
Oh, hush! Shut up, you damn thing--!
[Thankfully Tsurumaru spares him the embarrassment and danger of possibly pressing the wrong button by showing up and revealing that it's not unattended, although that does mean he can't steal a quick ride inside, not that he should seeing as how it's NOT HIS CAR. But you know. The temptation...!]
Ah, geez, you scared me! So did this damn thing. You know how to turn the alarm off?
[Because that's one thing he's not quite sure of. Sometimes there's a button on a key fob?]
no subject
Hahah! Did I surprise you?
(Ah, but he's trying to get it to stop. Instead, he just makes the windshield spit out washer fluid. He didn't even manage to turn on the wipers.)
I'm trying!
(He is failing.)
no subject
Sure did! You can be sneaky when you want to, huh?
[Abandoning the car, he wanders over to Tsurumaru and peers at the keypad. There's definitely a lot more controls than he would know about, limited car experience that he has, but all the same he tries to help by pointing to another button.]
Give that one a shot.
[It looks promising? Maybe??]

He walks up to the empty car and is surprised by the lack of driver. Didn't Tsurumaru say he'd be here? Where could he have gone? Is it a different car?
Taryon taps on the window, and the alarm immediately goes off and throws him back until he smacks into another parked car.]
It what?! [Ah, there's the guy, looking just as surprised as Taryon.]

It makes noise even when I'm not inside! See? That one did, too!

He turns to Tsurumaru, his voice raised over the din, one finger plugged into the ear that's pointed towards where the car is floating.]
I don't think you mentioned that it was a hover car...
[Maybe he did, and Dearka just didn't read. Maybe he should have just expected it was anyway; technology in this world is weird.]

(HE HAS ONLY SEEN HOVERCARS.... everything before that is horses. Anyway, he is also swinging his keys around his finger carefreely. He's very pleased with his chaos right now.....
Except he overswings and it ends up flying......... somewhere down the street.)

When she opens the door, he is not there? Well, he is. He's sort of standing off to the side, a little out of sight and as soon as she answers, he'll jump in front of her,)

Aaah, sorry, sorry. I couldn't resist. I wanted to surprise you!

So when they arrive, there aren't many people. It's really just the innkeeper, their family, and a few employees that call it home. They might spot the odd customer here or there and are told to give them a large breadth; something about them being from powerful families and as long as they mind their own business, they will be fine. They must be important given the fact that they've arrived with their own guards to keep them safe during their stay and journey.
They receive complimentary tea and sweets in their room and are told that their beds will be prepared for them while they eat dinner. That's all Tsurumaru really knows when the employee spends most of their time talking to Aki in a hushed voice. He's curious, and he tries to listen... when the employee leaves, he's already sitting down, unwrapping both of their sweets for them,)
My... What do you have planned?
(There's so much secrecy.)
no subject
It makes him happy, and that's something he's supposed to be clinging to right now.
Bowing to the staff and thanking them for their service, Aki lets the door slide shut as he makes his way over to Tsurumaru, sitting beside him and, now that they're alone, leaning in to kiss his cheek, watching him open his sweets. Aki's not about to take any of them away from them: this is a vacation, they're allowed to indulge. ]
A few things.
[ Aki has already ordered their dinner for the evening, though he makes a mental note that he might have to shove the beds together once they've been properly set up. ]
But we have a bit of time for what you'd like to do now. Eat the snacks, go to the baths, take a little while to relax here, whatever you like.
no subject
Eyes bright, smile growing, he holds up one of the sweets to Aki's mouth when he finishes. It's perfectly bite sized, red bean and soft mochi. He recognizes it as something from Kyoto but he isn't surprised to see traditions from other cities in this new central capital.)
There's hardly anyone here. I bet we can have the baths all to ourselves.~
These are really good, too. (Try it, try it.) We should take some back with us.
(They can share with their friends.)

Eh?
(He looks surprised, like this isn't the response he was expecting from her at all. His usual cool and calm is thrown off and there's an inkling of... embarrassment, maybe? He's flustered.)
How did you know? Have you been watching us?
(He thought they were careful in public..........)
... What have you seen?

I see... so you're friends.
(That's why they talked hm. He wonders what else Aki has said but... clearing his throat, trying to regain his lost composure,)
We have.
(Kissed. How many times? He won't tell.)
But that's why this is so... (Vague hands and he's flustered again.) Even if it's not the same it, it still feels disloyal...

(OTA) Impulsive Shopping
(It's hard to walk anywhere in Neo Tokyo without triggering a hologram advert or overhearing a sound truck blaring some special service deal. Just take a walk in one of the train station and it's an endless barrage of colorful advertisements and jingles, switching from one tune to the next and flashing to a new advertisement before you can even process the one before it.
Maybe you're supposed to be doing an assignment with Tsurumaru or maybe he's dragged you into a mysterious invitation to go somewhere surprising. He promises to meet you at a certain labyrinth of a train station. He'll send you his coordinates and some familiar landmarks to look out for. Or maybe it's none of the above and you just happened to run into Tsurumar. He's hard to miss if you know him. Even in civilian clothes, he has a way of standing out. Maybe it's because his sense of fashion and his looks make him look something like a model or some digital influencer.
When you find him, he's looking up at one of the pillars with the changing hologram posters. What is it for? You can't tell because it flickers to another advertisement as soon as you come around. As soon as he notices a familiar face though, he whips around with a carefree smile, )
Yo. (He waves,) Let's go check this out first. It's nearby.
(What was it even for?? Was it for...
1. Ik*a, a foreign home goods store with a certain trendy shark
2. An*mate, an anime goods and doujinshi store
3. Don Qui*ote, a discount goods store featuring a singing penguin
4. WILDCARD... choose your own cursed shopping location for Tsurumaru to hyperfixate on.)
You know I'm here for the Blåhaj
It's...probably polite to greet a fellow Outsider. And it's not at all some sneaking concern on how still the man had gone watching the advertisement. Dan Heng hasn't known him that long but...the lack of his usual energy is eerie.
But then he turns, beaming, and insisting he join him for. What?? ]
I. Is that a furniture store? Did you need help carrying things, Tsurumaru?
[Despite his better judgement, he's following behind him....]
do it for blahaj
(He nods and starts to lead the way to the blue and yellow box store shaped store. Since it's in the middle of the city, it isn't as big as a typical Ik*a but surely it will still find a way to trap them.)
I've been thinking of getting a new bed. You can help me carry that, right?
(Help him carry A WHOLE BED, Dan Heng....)
Just kidding! I heard it's more than just furniture though and it has a lot of fans! So let's see what all of the excitement is!
