KAIJU FIGHT #1

KAIJU FIGHT #1

CONTENT WARNINGS: thalassophobia, natural disaster, drowning, body horror, violence, blood & gore.

β–Ά 001. SEAS THE DAY.

On the morning of the 1st, sirens will blare, forcing every Outsider and Neo Tokyo civilian awake. While it hasn't been activated for a while, every citizen within the city knows this alarm all too well - it wails through the city whenever a Kaiju has been detected, ordering everyone to return to their homes immediately and stay there until they receive further information. Outsiders gazing at Neo Tokyo will see the armored city in its full technological splendour for the first time today. Once the civilians have returned to their homes, machinery within the buildings will work like clockwork, sinking each and every LILITH-augmented building beneath the ground. Just in time, too, because the waves are starting to roar again, crashing beyond the shore and flooding the city once more. Observant Outsiders may note that not every building has been modified. The older ones remain standing, vulnerable to the impending flood. Does anyone live in those buildings? The answer is yes, but that's not a priority at the moment.

Every Outsider will receive a summon, ordering them to prepare for battle. The Kaiju has been identified and located. It's show time.

"Angels of LILITH. We have located the Kaiju coming from beyond the sea. A full mission brief including the information we have gathered will be sent to you immediately. For now, make your way to the bay where your transport will be waiting. Be prepared for anything, but mostly, be prepared to swim."

Waiting for the Outsiders at the bay appear to be ... expensive-looking, personal yachts? This has to be a mistake, right? It's no mistake. Through intel LILITH has exchanged with international companies, it appears that this particular Kaiju has a fondness for overturning civilian yachts, and there's no better way to attract it than to leave it its favourite bait. The goal is to attract these Kaiju towards the boats and then attacking.

The ships may look like they're outfitted for a fancy yacht party. In fact, some exploring down below deck in the lounging room, one may find caviar on fancy ritz, oyster tower, little finger sandwiches with the crusts cut off and bougie smelly cheese that nobody in LILITH's pay grade can identify. On another table, there is fancy ramen spoons filled with microgreens, crystal jelly vinegarette, and a thin slice of parmesan cheese. Some further looking may find some fine aged wine, but you're not here to drink and party, you're here to fight a Kaiju! Right? Right.

Despite the fact everything about these yachts just look like... fancy yachts... they are actual warships that are mounted with naval artillery such as swivel guns, missiles and torpedos. Spears, harpoon guns and fishing nets can also be found and used if an Outsider is more comfortable getting extremely close to the monsters. There's no time for a proper seafaring course, so Outsiders will be given a quick run down on how the controls work, and be sent on their way. They will also be given a special jewel-like implant that attaches to the skin, right along the forehead, and told to wear it if they need to go into the water. "Don't worry about it," the LILITH crew says. "But it'll be one hell of a ride if you use it."

Alongside the crew, Seok Dang seems to be also assisting (?) though he's gotten a hold of the reception food down below. Did he smell like fine wine? Possibly. But that's definitely a fancy, half eaten cracker in his hand. He's also got on a bright, neon life preserver. Maybe someone doesn't know how to swim.

"WHOOO HELLA YEAH, MOTHERFUCKERS. Don't know how to swim? Don't'cha worry. Daddy Dang has got you covered. I know CPR! I give the best CPR! πŸ’– I'll rescue ya. TONIGHT, WE BALL!"

Nobody uses that phrase anymore, but you know what? You do you, SD.

β–Ά 002. WHALE WATCHING.

Minutes into their ship's course, the boats will rock violently, as if those already violent waves have somehow come alive. There is something in the water! The mission brief would have been shared with them sometime during their trip, but maybe Outsiders want to pull up on their implant the image and debrief shared once again now that there is some action. The orca-like Kaiju trying to reach the shores of Neo Tokyo is called Shachimon, and she's been the cause of the violent waves and flooding we've seen for the past few weeks. Alongside of her and are her children orca who love to mimic everything their mother does. The biggest one, the matriarch of the pod, is over 60 meters in length - large enough to swallow a boat whole. The younger ones are smaller but just as ferocious, spanning from the size of a car to the size of a bus. The youngsters are a size small enough that they can leap out of the water, sometimes crashing down onto people and ships. Beware!

Shachimon will be fighting to knock over boats, or climbing on boats with their amphibious legs. Once they get their hands on humans or Outsiders, they pull them into the water, tearing them limb from limb to feed. Their control over the waves are no joke, either. With a powerful swing of their tail, they can conjure up tsunamis capable of overturning ships. The matriarch, if left to her own devices, seems bent on submerging Neo Tokyo to make food of all its citizens.

β–ˆ β–ˆ β–ˆ MONSTER DEBRIEF SHEET
NAME: Shachimon
HEIGHT: Younger whales are 4 - 18 metres. The matriarch is 60 meters in length.
WEIGHT: 1500kg - 5000kg
CLASS: Highly dangerous.
LOCATION: Large bodies of water
ABILITIES: Use of sonar to detect any water movement. Fast swimmer. Very sturdy body thanks to all that whale blubber. High intelligence - commonly works together as a pod to take down prey. Capable of creating tsunamis that overturn boats. The largest Shachimon can sink a city if not stopped.
WEAKNESS: Electricity (since it will be inside water), dissection, spearing its eyes or blowhole. Loud vibrations within the water can stun or confuse it.
EXTRA NOTES: Dislikes and will attempt to overturn civilian yachts. Carnivorous, eating marine life and human flesh. Sadistic personality, may play with their food prior to eating.

β–ˆ β–ˆ β–ˆ MISSION OBJECTIVE:
βœ– Lead the Shachimon away from the shore.
βœ– Extermination of Shachimon in the water and if they reach the shore.
βœ– Protection of nearby fishermen's boats and civilians within those boats.
βœ– Teamwork to destroy the matriach Shachimon.
βœ– Bring back specimens (live or deceased) for research purposes.

β–ˆ β–ˆ β–ˆ ATTACHED PHOTO:

As a note, Outsiders who wish to remain on land and help civilians there may do so. There are waves flooding the city, and some of the smaller, quicker Shachimon will have made it to shore. They will need to be taken care of before they can terrorise the city.

β–Ά 003. OCEAN GEMS.

Shachimon are most deadly in the water and their go-to strategy is to pull others into their turf, where they have the advantage. That's where those jewel-like implants come in. These implants, called OCEAN GEMS, when attached to the skin, temporarily modify the body. Once activated, nanobots will invade the bloodstream and alter the user's lungs, giving them a set of breathable gills. Their legs will also be altered, giving them fins and the tail of a fish. This is a recent invention by LILITH ever since the first Shachimon was spotted a few years ago, and the technology is still experimental. This means that the transformation process will be significantly uncomfortable, feeling a bit like being asphyxiated and having your legs sewn together at the same time. Deactivating the gem and turning back feels just as uncomfortable, and being experimental technology, it can take a while before the user can successfully revert back. Those who want to fight in the water and lack any weapons or abilities that can be used can request Seok Dang for a weapon. There's a limited supply, but they will be given a special trident. Directly driving the spear into one of the kaiju will electrocute it, giving a higher chance for higher damage. These tridents will be handed out to those who want to use their Ocean Gem and ask.

It's up to Outsiders whether they want to use this new technology or not. Being able to fight the monsters on their own terrain is certainly an advantage, so LILITH would highly encourage it.

β–Ά 004. MEDICAL BAY.

Healers and those with medical experience will be placed on the warship with a red flag on it. Dr. Spim & Alex will also be present on this ship to assist any major injuries to both LILITH and civilian fisherman alike. This ship is bigger than the others, and while stocked up with the same artillery, it is also stocked with beds and medical supplies. This will be the Outsider's naval medical bay during the siege on the Shachimon and all injured Outsiders or civilians will need to be transported there. This ship will also need to be protected heavily, because once the Shachimon catch on that all the injured, vulnerable prey are being transported to the larger ship, they will start to target that ship in particular. Characters that need immediate medical help should be transported to this ship via a dataportal. Each yacht has a dataportal that can teleport anyone instantly to the medical ship. The dataportals are also located down below deck to prevent them from getting damaged.

β–Ά 005. THE CALM AFTER THE STORM.

It's a bloody, soggy and gruesome battle and the seas' waves begin to calm down, the sea filled with kaiju carcasses. LILITH's clean up crew is working hastily to collect these corpses, but with the Outsiders' occupied and recovering from their fresh battle, help is limited. Search and rescue scavenges the sea to find any civilians who didn't make it or may need medical help. Meanwhile, the valiant teamwork and effort has paid off. After many hits from many different weapons, artillery, natural abilities, etc. the matriarch kaiju has been downed and sank to the bottom of the ocean floor. LILITH's team will work to retrieve the massive carcass, though it will take awhile. Those who put in notable effort will receive praise and a little extra payout. Outsiders will see an instant transfer of funds to their account: 340,000,000 KRYPTOS. This is roughly about 2500 USD.

The intense battle will have lasted several days and Outsiders are free to go from land to sea as little or as often as they like. It is all over, though, and Outsiders will be called to return to the MAIN BASE for rest and recovery. LILITH will also be searching for the rift where the kaiju came from while Outsiders recover. A message from an unknown voice will pop up an hour or so after all Outsiders have returned to the MAIN BASE. Outsiders may use this time to socialize in a commons area, wash up in the showers, get a meal in the cafeteria or rest.

"Good work."

β–Ά 006. AFTERWORD.

Welcome to our first Kaiju log! All prompts are highly encouraged but OOCly optional. ICly, characters can choose to fight in the ocean, on the ships or stay behind on land and protect the city. At the end of the siege, characters who accepted an Ocean Gem will be asked to return it. It's experimental technology, so LILITH will need to do more tweaking before they can properly release it. Outsiders who use the gem may have whatever fish tail they like, as long as it is a sea creature.

Feel free to NPC your characters' fights with the smaller kaijus. The main fight with the Shachimon matriarch will be determined via a HP-based system (See below).

Please note that all tags in this log count for 2 reward points each. Ask any further questions below!

Below is also the month at a glance. We understand the CALENDAR has been a little inconsistent, but the mod team is sorting all of this out. We need to get in close to the leader.

[ This is already heading in a risky direction, but Nanami can see while watching the matriarch swim around that their focus should be on her. She keeps calling her children to specific targets, directing them almost intelligently to swarm them. She's the commander and they won't win unless they start getting to her.

He cuts through another smaller shachimon, kicking its ongoing neighbor aside to get closer to Shion. ]

When it comes around again, we need to hit it. If we fire from the deck, we can force it to breach.

[ And then... well. They'll have to risk going straight for her, which definitely puts them right into her range, but he's willing to take that chance. The question is whether Shion will accept his plan. ]
stresspoint: (pic#16830408)

[personal profile] stresspoint 2024-02-17 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[The coordination is fluid and easy for Nanami to match. Bakugo might have a wild method of attack, but his movements and clear tells are clear indicators of his skill and experience, and Nanami can pick that out rhythm in the way he fights. It's a good feeling, even though he doesn't like work on principle. It makes fighting the shachimon on this mission draw up some hidden motivation in him, awakening that sleeping part of Nanami that brings him to life on the field. He has a reason to be there.

The rush is strange. Even as Nanami runs to the side of the deck and kicks another shachimon overboard, he doesn't quite recognize his own comfort with the moment. As more kaiju start trying to crash into the side of the yacht and sink them beneath the water, he points the group out to Bakugo.]

Can you get them if they're submerged?!

[If the kaiju keep crashing against the boat, they'll breach the hull, but Nanami can't give under and he's not sure if Bakugo's technique (what he has to assume is a personal ability) will be diminished underwater. If the explosions aren't enough to knock them back, they'll have to shoot at the monsters. And that will be another challenge.]

Damn it... They're smart for animals.

[He doesn't like that for multiple reasons.]

[personal profile] stresspoint 2024-02-17 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[ In the past, Nanami probably wouldn't have had as many reservations about the various technologies that LILITH employed on them. He's used to curse energy healing and techniques that change the sorcerer in unusual ways that don't match his own abilities. But after dying, of feeling his entire being altered right before death, Nanami can't entirely fight off that instinctive fear of what it means. Destruction of his entire being as it exists, down to the soul, is a hard pill to swallow. It's left a scar that goes beyond the physical, and he's responding to that by being more stubborn than he was.

But Ishmael's words also have an impact. Sometimes just being heard and hearing a response in return, affirming who they are, is necessary. Nanami goes quiet, absorbing her answer, and a little bit of his weight shifts and lifts so he's walking more on his own as the feeling sinks in. It's still you. It's such an easy response, but it does somehow ease the pain. ]

You can use them to strangle whoever came up with that idea. There has to be a better method than turning us into fish-

[ He does nearly trip on her tentacle, catching himself with a huff and the help of Ishmael's shoulder. ]

At least you can move on land. The ones that only have fins are stuck where they are.

[ Nanami steps more carefully around her tentacles, giving them a better look. ]

You seem to have control of them. What about the rest of you? Do you feel cold?

[ She seems to be breathing fine. He's honestly a little worried about how the Outsiders that used the gems are adjusting to their changes. Does it hurt? Are the rest of their bodies uncomfortable? ]

[ As the younger shachimon start regrouping and leaping up to board their boat, Nanami surveys the situation. Yuji's blow hits hard, knocking the enemy back easily, but they are still facing the numbers of the pod. Nanami spins around when Yuji calls out, cutting across the center of his stance and into the rushing kaiju behind him. He slashes into the thick hides of two of them, leaving a large, straight gash that goes through both bodies, but they keep charging through the attack. He kicks the first back, and then grabs the other and throws it forward, making it fall and roll in Yuji's direction.

With more monsters still coming, he needs to keep leaving wounds and dodging their teeth and claws, all the while keeping an eye on Yuji's position as well. ]

Nice to meet you, Kaede.

[ He studies her face that looks both like Nyuu's and nothing like hers at all. Is this how people had felt when he turned up at school in the previous Elan's place? Well. He supposes it's his turn to introduce himself, even if it always gives him grief. ]

You can call me Elan. I say we can still ditch work if you want.

[ He's all for slacking off. ]
kubricks: (where exactly are we going... exactly?)

[personal profile] kubricks 2024-02-17 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
They're called Devils. Sometimes they wreak more havoc, sometimes less. And their abilities aren't always so straightforward. We had one not too long ago that trapped a team of mine on an an endlessly repeating hotel floor.

[An example that won't cause any real problems if it's brought up to the two other Public Safety people here.]

That was one of the more interesting ones. Some of the others are...well, just kind of a big creature to deal with.

[The Bat Devil comes to mind, but she doesn't feel a need to really give an example there.]

[personal profile] blastedass 2024-02-18 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
[They've always had a reason to be there. To kick these monsters' asses and keep everyone as safe as possible! As much as Bakugo despises getting kidnapped, he can get behind these missions. He's a hero. Leaving people to die and get hurt just because he's mad about circumstances isn't Bakugo's method. He can complete the mission as completely victorious as possible and then yell at LILITH for being a bunch of controlling freaks afterwards!

Besides, it's marginally "better" than sitting around waiting for the monsters to attack. They can actually do something. Death and pain notwithstanding. Those thoughts quickly swipe to the side as the ship rocks again. But it's not the crash of dying bodies sending wake against the hull. No, they're actively attacking the ship. Fuck. He knew it was only a matter of time before they figured it out. Orca aren't stupid creatures.]

Get to the artillery! I'll bring them to the surface! [His explosions don't technically like the water, but nitroglycerine can explode underwater. Water only makes him have to push his sweat out harder and in more volume to make up for the water licking it away whenever the explosions stop. Leaving Nanami to either man the artillery guns or to start picking off kaiju at the surface with his blade (he assumes it's a blade), Bakugo dives over the railing and enters the water with a splash.

It's only a few moments before those booms and flashes start to light up beneath the waves. Fuck it's freezing!]
likemybooks: Taryon watching something with his hands to his face. (worried)

[personal profile] likemybooks 2024-02-18 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
I'm trying not to! [Two orcas spot the oncoming ship and split from the rest of the pod, their mouths wide open with anticipation to chomp on the large, wobbling yacht. To the right of Taryon are the fisherboats. To the left, open sea. They need to lure more.]

Hang on. [He turns a hard right. The roar of the engine catches the attention of most of the pod. Eager for a fight, they - apart from two more interested in the civilian ships - dart away from the oncoming path of the boat and circle around, prepared to attack from the side.

Taryon makes a hard left, spraying water towards the fishermen.]

[personal profile] likemybooks 2024-02-18 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
I've experienced teleportation magic, but not machines. Unless there are planar rifts sitting in LILITH headquarters, I can't make something on my own. But that's a great idea for me follow up on, when I'm home. [That would be one incredible invention: instant transport!]

You can say that. They're not at all common in my world. I know some people build golems to protect them, but no one else treats them like a friend.
gundemn: (ex98)

[personal profile] gundemn 2024-02-18 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
[ Treating a robot like a friend is pretty unusual where he comes from, too, but he'll refrain from pointing that out. ]

You'd have to find a way to get home first. No way they're going to just let us go.

[ What he's hearing is that they're not going to be teleporting out of here anytime soon. Damn. Not to be a downer, but he's sure they're going to be kept here until they've exhausted their use to LILITH, and even then it's no guarantee. ]
gundemn: (b92)

[personal profile] gundemn 2024-02-18 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
[ Elan leans back on the couch and crosses his arms behind his head with a sigh. Humans don't just magically repair themselves where he comes from. He regards Yuji from where he slouches. ]

Don't tell me you're some kind of augmented human. What kind of world do you come from, anyway?

[personal profile] sparse 2024-02-18 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
[ Not yet, Nanami says. As if what they're defending matters more than his own life.

Blade can hardly argue against it, not when he doesn't have as much to lose anymore. He's simply following orders as it is, and if Nanami wants to stand their ground until the shachimon are all gone, then so be it. He keeps his back to Nanami, surveying the enemies as they start to gather around them. ]

Then— make sure you don't die.

[ He brings his sword up, trailing his fingers along the blade's edge to imbue it with energy. The shachimon growl as they begin their charge, but Blade is ready to meet them as he leaps into the air. He comes down a like falling star, the blast radius of his attack blooming out like a spider lily's petals. It cuts through the shachimon within its range, slowing down the onslaught.

Enough to leave an opening for Nanami to finish it up right after.

Because it's gonna take Blade some time to do it again, not when it always damages him after each attempt. But he's standing back up again, readying himself once more. ]
sparse: (pic#16788131)

[personal profile] sparse 2024-02-18 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
[ If only a pizza party was enough to fix this man, but alas. They have other things to worry about.

Such as finishing up what Wriothesley set up for him. Blade takes a split-second to consider refuting what the other man just said. Not fancy, huh, despite how precise his attacks have been. Perhaps there's no drama, but it gets the job a lot better than the reckless way that Blade tends to go with.

(Plus, who wouldn't swoon at that lil' tilt of his head? Blade doesn't, only because he sucks—) ]

I got it.

[ Blade charges straight at the frozen beasts, slicing their heads off neatly even though they crack apart like broken ice. He brings his sword down on any stragglers with ease, and the shachimon's numbers begin to dwindle until they're much more manageable now. Some are even stepping back, running away with their tails tucked between their legs.

All that's left is clean up now. ]
gundemn: (b4)

[personal profile] gundemn 2024-02-18 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
How would we do that while escaping detection?

[ If only it were that easy. So long as they have implants inside them, even if they could organize some form of resistance, Synthia would be onto them. The other guy's right though, what's important is surviving the battle in front of them. No point thinking about the future if they won't live to see it. ]

But I don't disagree. Right now all we know is what's in the brief. You've got a plan?
gundemn: (a4)

[personal profile] gundemn 2024-02-18 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
[ Bakugou's fiery reaction gets a chuckle out of Elan. He supposes he hasn't shown himself yet. Outside of the cockpit he's not so different from the refugees, with limited strength and means to help. Never did he think he would be grateful for Pharact's power or feel anything but resentment towards it. It's difficult to reconcile, but now's not the time to get tied up about it. He calls out to the refugees, adding helpfully(?) ]

Listen to the spiky head! He might have a scary face, but he means well.

[ No sooner are the words out of his mouth does he strategically take off to the side opposite the tilt. Elan leans the metal slab against the building, holding it in place so it won't slip so long as they're not stampeding it. ]

All set! Please form lines, stay away from the edges, and no pushing!

[personal profile] yuwon 2024-02-18 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
[ if there is any silver lining to how ... unrestrained this individual was in his movements and voice— it's that yuwon probably knew people just as noisy. granted, in a completely different fashion. at the very least, it's not like this guy was turning his fists towards him, either...

which he considers a small consolation. though, he supposes it'd take a real psycho to want to fight in the midst of the monsters. but, not entirely as unlikely as people would like to believe. even yuwon could easily think of two people who would have zero reservations in starting something here.

the thought almost makes him laugh, which may be mistaken to be directed towards bakugou. sorry, not sorry. though, with his question, he tilts his head slightly, almost as if he thinking of how to answer his question.
] I've used a similar sword before and I like it because it's close to my actual ability. [ ... ] Both. [ in a way. ]

Are the explosions yours or did you have something else hidden?
yuwon: (pic#16662903)

thank you for validating me

"Gross, but tolerable." Thanks. [ he's just kidding.

he knows she didn't exactly mean it to me towards him, and he appreciates her going along with his words, even if he wasn't exactly the sparkling gem of spoken conversation. thankfully, it's also enough to at least keep his thoughts on her words vs. whaterver... this was.

when she removes her gem, he's ready for her to follow right behind him, and so he almost but all begins to step forward to try and spare himself some of the residual awkwardness from his prior behavior— yet, then...

her legs don't revert back. he doesn't seem to put much thought into leaning downward. he leans down on a knee as he scoops her up in his amrs; her fin dangling as he tries to bring her close enough to balance her comfortably.

the currently proximity probably wasn't good when he was feeling ... a bit unlike himself, but he decides it didn't matter. he attempts to put his thoughts more into focusing on getting her below deck.
] I don't mind, but are you going to be okay?
yuwon: (pic#16663312)

[personal profile] yuwon 2024-02-18 11:22 am (UTC)(link)
[ this isn't the first time he's seen someone struggle by any means. he'd argue he's probably seen more of it than he can actually recount. despite that, he still stands there waiting, his arms crossed over his chest as he sees the glacial pace in which megumi drags his tail across the floor...

he lets this carry on for a good minute or two.

eventually and without any real sense of patience, he releases a sigh. a pointed look, he leans down, scooping megumi with one arm. or trying to, depending on how much pushback he gets.
] I'm not doing this to help. You're causing traffic. [ says yuwon, even if no one else was in this hallway except the two of them. ]

For all we know, it could be Seok Dang. That guy's really going out of his way to give us a hard time...

[ ah, whoops. she's going to try and focus on her tentacles so that they alternate between nanami's careful steps as they press onward. ]

True. I'm not envious of the guys who are stuck with tailfins at all. But I'm fine, thanks for asking. I'm used to weird transformations myself.

[ she did transform into a whale herself earlier. she wasn't herself at the time, but that's just how E.G.O corrosion works. the weird technology LILITH has provided them hasn't gone haywire yet, which is why ishmael doesn't usually have complaints about it. ]

I should be asking you if you're doing fine, though. You look like you're falling apart. [ she would know. she'd died plenty of times back home, and she could feel the pain right up to being resurrected. it's not her idea of fun at all. ] Maybe I should contact the yacht if they can just pick us up from here, but we aren't that far if you can still handle it.

[ while most may have viewed it as a burden, or even had a brief consideration that this may have been trouble— he doesn't get a single inkling of that from her. that might have been more uncomfortable to him than the act of kindness itself. so, he falls oddly quiet, perfectly set on letting her do her thing. while it's weird, it's not like him fighting it was any wiser for the situation. stubbornness didn't necessarily breed results, after all.

hence, he simply nods his head, and just like that she moves and jumps off and right onto the deck of the yacht. depending on her stats, that probably wasn't impossible, but it's impressive to think about.

once his feet are planted on the ground, he gives her a small nod.
] Yeah, let's go. [ he's fills the immediate area with the dark-colored flames, as he gathers a mana in an orb behind him.

but, before he forgets:

In a way... (It could bother him. It does. And yet...) But the future can change. Anything could happen. It's the ultimate surprise.

(The tower is dark, empty, and totally silent save for the sound of their own movements. The cabinets and drawers appear to have been rummaged through some time ago. It looks like someone has tried to scavenge here before them.)

Are you worried about Synthia and LILITH?

More or less: I've figured out how to use the ocular implant to create holograms of monsters that can be used to distract the kaiju, and then those who can actually fight them head on can take the opportunity to strike while the kaiju is distracted.

[He's also made sure to pay attention to the lecture about how the harpoon guns and such on this ship works, just in case.]

[Bakugou was pretty surprised to find out the guy got to bring his entire gundam with him, but considering he was brought with his hero costume and gear, it wasn't hard to adjust to. (Mostly the size of the damn thing.) The guy doesn't sound too much older than him over the communicator, but Bakugou's not above wondering where on the robot the cockpit is. Could be head, torso, or literally cockpit.]

WHO THE HELL AR YOU CALLING "SPIKY HEAD"?! IT'S GREAT EXPLOSION MURDER GOD DYNAMIGHT!!

[Right, because that's going to be the mouthful everyone wants to say. Go with "Dynamight" like most people in his world do. It's the compromise that made the committee agree to the ridiculous name Bakugou originally wanted and now has "before" the one suitable for television.]

Get moving! [Bakugou lets Elan handle the slab and he takes it on himself to go to the opposite side of the building, both to make sure everyone's cleared out from the west and the building is holding at the wedge. There is some panic from the people inside, but the mixture of salvation at hand and a scary bomber in back makes them obey Elan's kinder orders. Using the metal as a slide to get from the upper floor windows to the ground below.]

Tell them to head to the road behind you. There are other evacuation directors there.

[ The tea kettle goes off, and Yor nods faintly before going to tend to it. She's not used to the tea being in little packets like this, but she waits until the cups are filled with water before setting the packets in them. Without being doused by water, they float at the top and steep straight down instead of from the side. ]

It's perfectly fine with me! I'll be up for a while myself, so stay as long as you'd like.

[ Yor places the tray down in front of her before taking a seat herself. She wasn't sure what Ishmael would prefer, so she brought sugar packets and a container of honey just in case. ]

Here you go. It should only be a couple minutes before it's done steeping.

No, I just felt like doing it. Don't give yourself too much credit.

[ It's totally working but why would she admit that? Giving Tsuru the satisfaction could only lead to terrible things in her opinion. Shortly, a new wave of orcas try to board the ship but making their way all up to the deck takes a while. Besides, throwing them back into the water wouldn't be as fun as just slashing them left and right. ]

Prove your name? Are you kidding me? [ Sooyoung scoffs. ] You being here in the middle of this kaiju bullshit is enough of a proof, gramps.
