( open. ) firefighter calendar mingle!
WHO: everyone!
WHAT: the firefighters put out a calendar every year and guess who is getting everyone involved.
WHERE: the venue for the photoshoot, somewhere in the city.
WHEN: within the first week of their arrival.
WARNINGS: nudity or partial nudity? will update warnings as they come.
The firefighters are looking for models to assist in their yearly calendar. Last year due to some mishaps, they missed the due date for this beloved tradition in the city, and so are not looking to really make sure everything is flawless this year. Since is no error for mistakes, they are even recruiting people to model as firefighters, as well as looking for people who can act as temporary photographers— in a city as busy as this one, it isnβt always easy booking a photographer for certain time slots.β¨
everyone is free to put up their top levels and tag around as they see fit. you can see it as you were messaged by someone randomly on the network about an opportunity to make additional kyptos, or they could have even found an ad. whatever works!

1. As a photographer they are tasked to make the calendar spicy, but also unique! They figure one of the best selling points is variety. No more poses, the more avant-garde, the weirder even, the better! Like if your thing is posing with a carton of eggs, you do you!NOTE: hi, this is the log for the firefighter calendar!
2. Models are incentivized and even ranked (this is arbitrary, so I leave that all to you), so maybe this can also lift the competitive spirit of some! Or maybe you just really want to make some extra kryptos!
3. Outside of photographers and models, also looking for people who can enhance the overall experience. Do coffee runs for everyone, while also hyping or judging the models! Whatever they say fit! People can even stumble into these roles thinking they were here for a completing different reason! Or go out on an errand to come back and suddenly everyone is not as they once were.
4. Just have fun and free to make up your own scenarios! Even if it's walking in like π§ββοΈ I thought this was a pizza party.

arrival.
Here for the calendar?
[ Come on in, no one here is going to bite. ]

[They don't have photos back home. Any sexy drawings of real life people are sold in specialty shops or privately gifted. Taryon is learning a lot about the modern world.]
no subject
He peers around the room, scanning each figure present. ]
There were some people who kept their shirts on. [ And some people being encouraged to take their pants off?? Truly, anything goes here. ] But if you'd rather keep yours on, I don't think anyone would mind.
[ He's not the guy in charge of all this, but surely no one would be cruel enough to push someone out of their comfort zone just for a few pictures. ]
Never done anything like this before, I take it? Don't worry, me neither.
no subject
I was expecting to keep all of my clothes, but... [He sighs.] You know, between here and home, I get the impression that a lot of people are really okay with being so...[He waves a hand at the scenery.] outwardly sexual. And in public, too.
[Although his friends didn't walk around their base like this - at least not when Taryon was around...]
Is there something that covers up enough? You know, the front and all? I think my smile can make up for the rest of it.
no subject
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. We're a lot more about keeping our clothes on where I come from.
[ Even if he doesn't seem to fit that mold so far... There's a bit of rustling as he digs around, before finally pulling out what seems to be a large equipment bag. ]
How's this? It's not the most flattering of props but that just means they'll be all the more drawn to your smile, right>?
no subject
Ah. Haha. Yes, of course. [He offers Wriothesley a smile. It would be dashing if he weren't obviously uneasy with the future.] And I'm to...take everything off, show off my muscular build and all? To inspire the public?
no subject
That does seem to be the process from what I've seen. [ Maybe he should throw the guy a bone? ] But there are other roles you can take on, if you're not so comfortable with showing it all off. Sometimes the most appreciated hands [ bodies?? ] are the ones that aren't in the spotlight.

So he's thankful for the suggestion. Taryon's shoulders visibly relax, and he nearly drops the bag on the floor.] I'm not a photographer, but- I'd say I have a good eye for art. I could offer my suggestions for, you know, style points. [Maybe be brave enough to speak what he would find more attractive.
He watches Wriothesly from the corner of his eye.] ...Are you all done?

But knowing that a picture of her is going to be on a calendar? She's starting to rethink the whole "I don't care, it's whatever" mindset she started with. It's not so much the getup as just...being out there for others to see.
Taryon, bless him, is more of a help than he realizes. At least he's trying to talk her through it than just giving her vague direction like the photographers. ]
Like this?
[ She leans more, trying to look as disaffected as possible. ]

Lucy is listening, which means he's doing a good job so far.] That's great! [He turns to the photographer.] That's great, right?
[You know what, it's something. The photographer snaps this pose in case the others don't work out.]
no subject
None of the other props really suit the feeling aside from a decorative white lily placed in her hands. But for that one? They're all too happy to let her close her eyes. Something about a dangerous serenity.
But by the end of things? Oh, she very much looks frazzled and like she's about to bolt and hide. ]
How do others just...do that? Nonstop...

[Taryon holds out a robe for Lucy to take.]
But it's better than sitting for hours for a portrait.
[He's been asked to clean up the scene, and he must leave Lucy for a moment. He expects her to leave and go on with her day, since she already did her work as a model, and hums to himself while he returns the props into their boxes.]
no subject
I guess so. [ However, she can't help but ask: ] So why aren't you in front of the cameras?
no subject
Oh, well, I just feel that my visage is better suited to something a bit more...clothed? [He's been spending the past hour getting used to the setting.] Why? Do you think I deserve to have my picture taken?
no subject
She points a finger to her own mug, which has already gone back to its natural state of "resting bitch." ]
I think you'd be more charming for the camera than this.
no subject
Thank you. I'm sure your picture will be well-appreciated, but the calendar could use someone with a more...[he strokes his goatee] chivalrous appearance.
[Oh look - he's finally reconsidering the offer to model]

Also he's curious. That part can remain off-record.
Nanami picks up on the one man's hesitance and stands nearby, watching him in silence for probably longer than strictly necessary before he decides to say anything.]
You're taking a long time deciding.
no subject
I'm supposed to do that?! [He holds out a hand in the general direction of a woman in overalls - sans shirt - leaning over a counter.] No one warned me of this!
no subject
[He looks to where Tary is emphatically gesturing, but Nanami doesn't shift position or bat an eye. Instead, he follows up his statement:]
That employee seems ready to do what is required. Are you saying that you're intimidated by conditions for success?
no subject
[He points to himself with a shakong finger.]
Do I look like I have the fortitude to match these guys?! I thought we were taking normal pictures! [His voice is at a harsh whisper, so the workers can't hear him but clearly tell he's upset.] Are we- do we have to strip to get paid? Is this how it works? Does everyone think it's normal out here?
no subject
[He hums softly. That's fascinating.]
Regardless, you don't have to worry about other people. The point is to submit your own look, and it seems that there's a minimum of discretion to match the theme, so you don't have to subject yourself to nudity. And if human nature is to be assumed here, there is a taste for every type. They'll appreciate the variety.
no subject
[He does notice a distinct lack of well-maintained facial hair here. Not that he expects firefighters to have time to groom themselves.]
It's- they're firefighters. I thought "fiery" was part of the joke. They don't do this where I'm from. [Tary doesn't run intk the right people, that's the problem.] But you sound like you have a lot of experience with calendar modeling.
no subject
[Sir, please. He shouldn't need to explain these things. He doesn't want to explain these things to a grown man. And Nanami looks skeptical when Tary says his world doesn't do things like this. That definitely sounds false.]
I don't. I worked for a financial office.
[That's it. That's the reasoning he gets.]
The arrangement seemed self-explanatory.
no subject
I don't...[He stops, folds his hands, and holds them to his mouth to think. Apparently, Taryon is the only one in this entire room that's confused about the setup. Everyone came here with the expectation that their picture would be used for erotic purposes. They were fine with strangers watching them. Most of the outsiders, he's figured out, are from eras that are familiar with this sort of technology - or at least more familiar than Taryon is. This has to be a common enough occurrence in the far future where you don't have to be an adventurer to be comfortable getting naked for any reason. Is it him? Is he the strange one for feeling this way?]
You're not joking. This is normal. [A deep breath. This is not the time to chicken out of a daring quest.] And you're doing it, too.
Alright. [This is horrible. Stressful. Scandalous.]
