[Katsuki holds both his hands a little bit away from the rotating shape. Charging up the explosions in his palms isn't too much an issue, but rather than detonating them, he regulates the charge to simply exude heat.
It's not the mot comfortable technique, compared to popping and snapping off smaller controlled explosions, but it works to form a sort of convection oven between his hands. Not hot enough to burn the blood, but enough to quickly start to dry it out. First the very outermost layer, then slowly working its way further in.
So long as Yuji keeps the blood in that shape, it's going to dry out and solidify into, yeah, that shape. Likely not as effective as the sorcerer hardening it himself, but it's certainly usable.]

[ Yuji watches it all happen, eyes wide and curious as Katsuki uses his quirk, solidifying the blood and making the shape more solid. Their abilities work together in tandem, and Yuji leans down to watch, getting as close to it as he dares.
Itβs impressive. Everything about Katsuki is impressive.
Leaning back, he grins, expression wide and excited. ]
Thatβs so cool!

There's something inspiring about seeing the control the guy does have, even if he's still learning through the first proverbial chapters. Knowing how fast Yuji learns, it's pretty damn incredible he's come this far already. Yuji's amazing.
Please don't blow your face of, Gari Head...]
Heh, damn right. Leave a hole in the top.
no subject
Flexing his fingers a little, he breathes out. This is hard, and if his concentration breaks for even a second... ]
Yeah, I got it... Like this...
no subject
Good. Let it go.
[He'll either catch it or it'll fall into Yuji's palm once the boy stops concentrating on it.]
no subject
We did it.
no subject
Yosha.
[It's thick enough. At least thick enough for a trial run. They can work on the thickness later.]
no subject
[ Yuji leans forward to look at it, eyes wide with excitement. ]
I never thought about doing anything like this.
no subject
[Even if you're learning the basics, at least thinking about the possibilities is important. Even as a kid, Katsuki wrote down tons of ideas and ultimate moves for his Quirk, when all he could do (at the time) was a few little pops and chibi booms.]
Now that it's hard, can you still control its movement?
no subject
[ Yuji's grinning, though, as he reaches out with his technique. He can move it, just, shifting it here and there with little movements of his fingers. ]
Like that?
no subject
[Hence no yelling or berating him. Just some smug advice for the future. Once Yuji has it moving, Katsuki nods.]
Yeah. Hold it in the air, with the hole facing up.
no subject
Hole up... Like that. I got it.
no subject
Okay, now roll it around gently, so that coats the insides.
[What'd you do with your friend this evening? "MADE BOMBS!"]
no subject
Yuji flexes the little orb, moving it this way and that - he can't really say it's gross when it's literally made out of his own blood, but if anyone was watching them... They'd definitely find this weird. ]
We definitely have to try this next mission.
no subject
And Katsuki professes he's not a nerd...
Anyone watching them can fuck off. There's sweat and blood going into this. Though hopefully those two can mean there won't be the proverbial third: tears.]
That's why I wanted to try this. Whatever's out in the desert's gonna be a pain in the ass.
no subject
[ Choso could probably use them, actually, or make some more, or whatever he wants to do. ]
no subject
[... and then goes beet red when his brain catches up with his mouth. FUCK!]
no subject
[ Yuji, at least, doesn't see anything wrong with the comment, and just beams. ]
Like protecting each other from afar.
no subject
[It's not wrong, just... embarrassing. Ugh. Katsuki rubs the side of his head in annoyance, but doesn't dismiss Yuji's comment.]
All right. I can't detonate this externally, so it's gonna have to get shaken or heated to go off.
no subject
[ Yuji frowns, leaning forward to look at their handiwork. ]
Or put some sweat on the outside, something like that?
no subject
[Nitroglycerine and all.]
All you have to do is throw it.
no subject
[ If they're running around and they'll just go off... ]
no subject
[Yuji's seen how Katsuki bounces around when he fights. It takes really pitching the things to get them to impact and explode.]
Mine aren't as rudimentary as this though.
[He frowns at the grenade above Yuji's hand. This was just a prototype to see if the idea would even work.]
no subject
[ Yuji frowns, leaning back to stare at the weird creation they've made. ]
This is just a prototype, anyway. We can work out the issues with it as we make more.
no subject
[That's not a big problem, if the coating of sweat isn't enough to get through the shell of the grenade, but it's an idea to reinforce the strength of the wall.]
There's always freezing it.
[That would prevent the risk of accidental explosions, but the impact to made it detonate would have to be even greater than the "wet" version.]
