WHAT: Dating shows... I was bullied.
WHERE: Between Okinawa & Neo Tokyo.
WHEN: Throughout the remainder of July (listen, it's a production)!
WARNINGS: Partial nudity, alcohol, potential suggestive topics, and will update 'em as I see 'em!

Throughout the city of Neo Tokyo and even Okinawa, there will be advertisements posted by the hundreds (and spam mail to your oculars by an equal number), desiring candidates for a show. While the aftermath of vegas and other bleak instances might have led way for people practicing some semblance of moderation— opposite to that, the people also need their entertainment, don't they?

Fortunately, there will be an influx of dating shows looking for people to appear. They are offering a fairly decent amount of money and are even offering luxury experiences for free for participants. In this economy and food shortage??? Okay, the food may be lacking, but they do make up for it in various activities they have planned, where people can kick back, relax, and romance?

While there will be any number of shows looking for interested parties, these are the main shows/premises:

  SPEED DATING  

As the label suggests. People will be expected to sit down and switch through several partners. In their hands will be a card labeling who they encounter and a place to leave a check mark. They will also be given a list of questions that can be answered.

  PARTNER SWAP  

People can be on a show and swap partners. This doesn't necessarily need to be romantic, either. Have a friend you want to show up with, cool. The only rules are that the pairs who enter together cannot stay together during the duration of the show.

  SINGLES INFERNO  

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be trapped on a deserted island with other hot singles? Well, now you no longer have to wonder. They will need to cook and fend for themselves here with minimal activities or distraction— but, isn't that the point? All you need to focus on is each other! (* They will be ferried to an outer island by Okinawa). While on the island, which they label as inferno, it's also a rule that one cannot speak about their age, occupation, or any such personal details. All of this will be reserved for "paradise." To go to paradise, two individuals will need to pick one another, and if they do — they are able to go on to completed various luxury experiences together.

For those who would rather find paradise in inferno together, you can presume there are tents that act as shared dormitory quarters where contestants will stay together.

  DATE ME  

People are free to use this for just general dates. Maybe, you just want to finesse the system and enjoy a fun all-expense-paid for date in which you get to eat like relative kings and enjoy various experiences. Feel free to use anything in the setting to your desire.

  SKINSHIP STARTER  

... a show where you get paid the more skinship you do. Don't do anything you wouldn't do in a Wendy's though. (That's not how the saying actually goes).

  COMMENTARY PANEL  

Every good dating show needs those who simply sit and commentate, right?

* It can be assumed any of this is just open to general CR you want to spend time with, too. This is just supposed to be a silly log for chances for characters to get to know one another! Characters are more than welcome to assume they stumble upon this by accident, think it's just a basic job and can't leave, film or unfilmed (minus the commentary prompt), and whatever else! Feel free to tag freely, threadjack, etc!

sitting cross-legged on top of the commentator table, he holds the mic to his lips as he graciously interjects some rude crass cheeky comments in between the more serious (and perhaps sincere) ones of his fellow peers. see, he's just here to fuck around. maybe piss one or two love-seekin' contestants off.

it's good for the ratings, after all. B)

there seems to be more than one familiar face around too, so doesn't that just make his job easier?

( In a few seats behind, one foot propped up on the one in front of him, and haphazardly throwing pretzels in his mouth is one Mr. The Stampede. He's no longer trying to compete - mostly because he psyched himself out - and is instead watching how it's done.

Gojo's yelling isn't conductive to romance though, so. )

How are they supposed to feel the vibe underneath all that pressure, hey?

even less, he's mostly banking on how loud and disruptive gojo is to provide all the commentary for the people. gojo could probably sense that yuwon is simply riding off on his imaginary coattails, only offering the occasional nod beside him.

despite him taking advantage of gojo's animated observations, he also adds a: ] Quiet down. [ lol,

Gebura's always been like that, don't worry. Her charm comes from her actions, not her conversation.

Her actions will only take her so far, especially when she's falling so flat with her follow throughs. I'm not charmed yet, and it looks like neither is her partner. Maybe it's time for her to switch things up.

( most dating shows should have a sympathetic, kind voice to describe the horrors they are putting themselves through for the sake of love. aventurine is not that person. he is, in fact, only here because the producers had managed to grab his partner and aventurine thought ratio on a dating show of all things would be hilarious.

he never said he was a good boyfriend.

instead he's found himself not only watching, but being a part of the show itself as a commentator. and, beyond ratio, the contestants do not disappoint. )

ONE.

More than two nipples? Why, we've just found perhaps the most adventurous contestant yet!

TWO.

And over here we have the good doctor, who -- in spite of his classically handsome good looks -- does not know how to hold a conversation with an attractive stranger. Will he manage to say anything else? We'll just have to keep watching to find out--

THREE.

Oh, and this handsome woman just knows how to lay down the innuendo! Will her partners understand what she's asking to do or will they be more committed to the bit than she?

FOUR.

And this gentleman surely thinks he's a fine catch, but does he truly have the experience to win the heart of someone? It's not all about good looks, after all, though that certainly helps!

Do you think so? ( of course he knows, and the grin on his face betrays that. ) Why, then, do you think he found himself in such a position in the first place--

( the shit eating grin he's wearing indicates that 1. he is responsible and 2. he's having a great time. )

You would presume correctly. And you must be.... Ishmael, is that right?

[ as much as the recruiters desperately wanted someone like her to participate, she'd really insisted on putting her foot down otherwise. and so she is here at the peanut gallery, sparkling fruit juice in hand, and while she had her turn with the microphone, this entire prompt is just her making snide commentary without it. she's not about to blab gossip onto the unaware public, after all. ]

a) This is all too phoned-in for my liking, though. Can anyone really find their better half here in front of all these cameras?
b) Wow, that's the corniest thing I've ever heard. Hopefully they're aware that they don't have to try this hard to win someone over.

although, her tune does change a little when wriothesley starts showing up in some of these games. not that she's jealous or anything (or so she really, really wants to think; she likes to think that she's rational about this at the end of the day), but she is more quiet than usual as she observes the way he acts onstage. until she places her cheek on her open palm with a sigh like, ]

c) ...Guess I really lucked out this time around.

[ Aki is making his own commentary, though he looks as impressed as she does by the whole venture. Maybe he'd be more curious if he was single, but he's a little wrapped up in his newly developing romance to be concerned. ]

People won't go for who they like. They'll go for whoever they think will make them most appealing.

So... There's not a chance their relationship will last after this game? That's kind of sad.

[ while someone probably expected far more colorful, or at the very least, well thought out commentary, yuwon has probably provided only small spurts of it. careful reactions. analyzing the people on screen, and maybe only pointing what the obvious lies are being uttered on screen. (this isn't the callout people were probably looking for).

that said, yuwon didn't tend to enjoy speculating without having all of the facts, and so he falls silent momentarily, before he hears ishmael sigh beside him. he tilts his head slightly. is this another situation where he's accidentally stepping onto a land mine... ]

[ it's yuwon, so it should be fine. she's still uncertain as to why wriothesley distrusts him that much, or at least doesn't trust yuwon enough to get with rodion, but that's probably none of her business. she's not the nosy one in the relationship, okay? despite coming off as such since she knows way too much sometimes...
