KAIJU FIGHT #7
KAIJU FIGHT #7
▶ 001. EGYPTIAN DINNER.
As the days go on, more and more evidence begins to show that the kaiju is, indeed, hiding out somewhere deep within the desert, approximately in the West area around the Qattara Depression. LILITH’s crew embarks first with all of their supplies to set up a temporary base in the ruined city of El Alamein, a small city at the edge of the desert. Outsiders are requested to wait there until further instructions, and this temporary base will be a safe haven if things get too treacherous. After all, even after all of their research, who knows what this monster is capable of doing?
Once the base is set up, Outsiders will move out, either on their camel or other means they may have to arrive at the base. The days continue to grow shorter, nighttime beginning to descend as early as 3 PM. Outsiders will also be highly recommended to consume the cyber caffeine once again as its effects from the plane ride are beginning to wear off. To their surprise, when the Outsiders arrive, a large buffet of Egyptian food will be waiting for them. Koshari, shawarma, falafel and Egyptian stew will be served. All fresh and natural ingredients! Everyone settle in and dine together… it could be the last meal you have.
LILITH suggests waiting until there is more sunlight before they hunt down the kaiju. Outsiders can rest, but do not sleep! Maybe wait for the sunrise together? Find other ways to kill some time? Maybe there are new Outsiders that would like to know about the previous kaijus? As the sun begins to rise, it paints the most beautiful sunrise that maybe Outsiders have ever seen. Were some of those new colors in the sky? How romantic.
▶ 002. QUICK AS SAND.
After the sun rises, Outsiders and LILITH prepare to leave the temporary base and head further towards the Qattara Depression. The trek starts out pretty easy, but the geography soon gets more and more dangerous, leading into what seems to be a large crevice in the Earth. Captain Yamakawa gives a report once the Outsiders have reached this area:

While it’s true that the area does contain many sand crocodiles popping out and spitting embers, there is no sight of any other kaiju. Yet, all evidence points to the fact that it is here. The rift energy is immense in this location, and those exposed may be hit with nightmares, bad memory sharing or a weakness to sunlight. As characters move along, following Yamakawa’s lead on her camel, those with keen hearing will detect it before anyone else: moaning, groaning. Sounds of agony, all coming from beneath them. It gets louder, causing Yamakawa to halt. But as soon as everyone stops, they will feel the ground start to sink beneath them.
It’s quicksand!
Yamakawa and any other Outsiders who may have been traveling close with her will soon be engulfed by the sand, first taking the camels by their legs. It’s never good to panic while in quicksand, and Yamakawa remains calm as ever, but if anyone tries to pull her and others out, she will say,

As characters vanish beneath the sand, they will see that Captain Yamakawa is correct — the quicksand leads to a hidden, ruined city beneath the Qattara Depression: a perfect lair for a kaiju who is sensitive to sunlight. Outsiders slowly fall and hit the rocky ground not-so gently, heaps of sand flowing after. Rub it from your eyes and remove it from your ears to marvel at a city that time has forgotten.
In the middle of the ruins, there is a large temple. It’s time to find that kaiju!
“Angels of LILITH, we have evidence that this area is filled with many sand crocodiles. We have supplied everyone with more shotguns and ammo, but use any other means to keep yourself safe. We have received evidence that the kaiju is in this general area. Keep alert! Who knows what sorts of powers it possesses that we may not know about!”

In the middle of the ruins, there is a large temple. It’s time to find that kaiju!
▶ 003. TOMB RAIDER
The inside of the ruins are dark and mostly devoid of natural sunlight. However, there does occasionally seem to be flickers of light, as the sand above them runs fluidly across where the sky would be, almost like water. Due to the lack of visibility, Outsiders will need to utilize their LILITH-provided equipment or find other methods or sources for light. Everyone will have access to a flashlight, but there will also be abandoned torches nearby should anyone really want to impersonate Indiana Jones here. Once they arrive deeper in, they will see some of the torches spark to life, operated by a mysterious technology.
It's clear that these ruins were made for the sole purpose of housing the temple at its center, which appears to also be a type of tomb. There's a certain silent reverence to it, as it naturally demands respect. Or, it's the ominous presence of the sand crocodiles slithering about in the sands. The crocodiles can be lurking under any surface of sand, and so Outsiders will be cautioned and asked to be on the lookout, not only for themselves, but their fellow teammates.
If the crocodiles weren't alarming enough, as one enters the tomb itself, they will discover several booby traps awaiting them. If one steps carelessly, they'll find themselves at the other end of a vicious trap — some are triggered by stepping on the wrong stone, or grabbing a nearby torch. Some are even activated just by making eye contact with the wrong painting on the wall. If Outsiders feel any vibrations, they will get warnings on their oculars that a boulder may be swiftly approaching! Run and seek an alcove to hide in!
For those who are savvy with dismantling traps, they will find that some of them do have workarounds if you know the right methodology behind each one. As for if they will be given the time for it, that's another story, but maybe another Outsider can do the honors of triggering it while another suppresses it?
People should also do their best not to be drawn by some of the treasure or gems that are placed into several of the rooms with tombs. Picking up even one sliver of gold, or a gem will cause the mummies to reanimate. The mummies have an ability to produce sounds that can render people unconscious, or even cause their inner eardrums to bleed. While they are slow moving, they are also incredibly persistent, and as they're already technically dead, get on the wrong side of one and you may be stuck with it following you around. Fire seems to slow them down pretty effectively, as well. Should you be stuck with an aggressive one, however, it will do everything it can to try and harvest your organs. Completely dismembering them will un-alive them again.
Outsiders will get a notice when the rift energies increase in intensity as they traverse deeper within the tomb. Unexpectedly, it isn't the end of the tomb they're being led to, but the center of it.

▶ 004. HEART OF THE TOMB.
At the very center, the first thing everyone will notice is the rift. The rift effects will be strongest in this area. Thankfully, unlike the kaiju in Transylvania, everyone will still have full access to their abilities. One thing that can be noted, however, is that the rift energy may feel stronger than before, and Outsiders may feel an odd tingle that can be felt even through their suits. They may also find that if their attention strays for too long, they can feel their limbs go a little numb, so this battle will require all their focus.
While there are rift effects, hopefully that doesn't get in the way of anyone's performance. Especially as it doesn't take long for the kaiju to kick itself into gear.
This kaiju is capable of trapping people in nightmares and illusions, as well as sharing them. In addition, by looking its target in the eyes, it’s capable of causing them to feel intense fear to the point of paranoia. These effects can last even when no longer in the presence of the Kabus. The Kabus uses the disorientation caused by its abilities to render its victims incapable of fighting back, and uses its dark and inky black tendrils to trap its victims. The tendrils cannot be cut, and almost appear illusory as well.
The mummies also seem to be working in tandem with the Kabus and will gradually make their appearance in this deepest region of the tomb. However, they seem less aggressive and are far more interested in grabbing, or biting down on Outsiders to decrease their overall mobility, especially if they fall under the Kabus nightmares.
Unlike the permanent rift in Tokyo, LILITH will eventually send in help by blocking off some rift signals, enough to eventually get them shut down. Without the power of the rift, the Kabus’ power will also begin to dwindle, which hopefully all the Outsiders take full advantage of.

▶ 005. AFTERMATH
It's an intense fight, and Kento Nanami along with Cagalli deliver the hardest blows with 600 HP each, the monster grows weaker. It somehow knows it is about to die, though, especially when Choso's toxic blood poisons it. It's spiteful, seeking revenge for the pain it is feeling, and when it is attacked again, it lashes out, temporarily blinding Power and releasing a deafening screech to disorient Rico. The final blow is delivered by Muramasa, and when it dies, it speaks to him, something inaudible but it sounds like it is speaking in Arabic. It dissipates into sand, and LILITH encourages Outsiders to round up the sand for further evaluation. From the looks of it, though, it appears to be nothing special.
When the Kabus is eventually defeated, Outsiders will have a pocket of time in which they must make their escape before the tomb is completely buried in sand. Perhaps, without the kaiju there, the structure is no longer stable. If Outsiders don’t want to be buried in sand, they will have to make their escape swiftly.
... But not without gathering samples: Outsiders will be prompted to collect as many samples as they can. Some of these samples will be given over to the research institute, but the researchers of LILITH also feel like they could find a use in the sand and bloody bandages that the lynx left behind.
The Outsiders and LILITH crew escape successfully, moments before the underground is filled with sand. They high trek it back to the Alexandria Institute, where they are greeted with something that Outsiders have probably been craving.. along with crowds cheering, some falling to their knees in gratitude, LILITH & the Outsiders are provided the following before flying back to Neo Tokyo:
Free lodging at the most comfortable hotels with the most comfortable beds. Finally, they can rest easily and as much as they want to without the threat of the kaiju around! It takes one full day cycle for daylight and night time to return to normal, and after a long, sleep.. LILITH encourages the Outsiders to sleep as much as they would like because they deserve it.
Right when they close their eyes, though, one more message flashes across their oculars. It's been awhile since Outsiders have heard from their robotic-tentacled Commander. After all of that, he has a few words. On voice, he speaks, but then he also sends a text message:

“... Good job. Most impressive."

- Medical staff will be on standby.
- Effects from the kaiju can last 24-48 hours to fully dissipate. (Note: This is up to players how they want to play this out. It could also come and go, so it does not affect their ability to play in any other aspect of the game in the meantime).
- As Outsiders were able to discuss and piece together some clues: they were able to rendezvous with the lynx in the desert and collect a hefty amount of samples (sand from the lynx, bloody bandages from the lynx, mummy parts.) Some of these samples will be used for medicine, while others for their suit. While Greece is still unresponsive, it may just be because of the rifts.
- LILITH will offer the energy drinks freely to those who want them. However, since it seems like some Outsiders get carried away, there will be a daily cap of two.
- The ESSENCE generator shows signs of working again, now with all aspects of the rift gone (the rift itself and the kaiju.)
- There will now be a simulation option once Neo Tokyo base reopens to mimic traps, so people can practice avoiding them. Even the ones with random screaming being used to lure people in. (They can’t believe this works).

EVENT BREAKDOWN/RECAP (CLICK TO EXPAND)
1. EGYPTIAN DINNER: Investigative efforts and careful research has led to the Outsiders next location. They are moved out from the comfort of their temporary base and are now having their last supper before they head out to the hunt.
2. QUICK AS SAND: They encounter more foes in the desert in the form of sand crocodiles. Everyone is provided weapons and ammo to hold these creatures back and minimize initial damages to the team. However, it seems the one of their biggest mysteries get solved. It's quicksand! .... and it looks like there's a lot more to unearth beneath them.
3. TOMB RAIDER: Outsiders arrive at the entrance of the tomb. Once in it, they are prey not only to the sand crocodiles, but the various booby traps set out for them. They will also encounter mummies which seem to be reanimated or powered by the kaiju.
4. HEART OF THE TOMB: Outsiders will find the kaiju at the heart of the tomb. As the preliminary report states, the kaiju infiltrates a being's consciousness and body through their dreams to stop their heart. Outsiders will need to be wary of this fact while battling the kaiju.
5. AFTERMATH: Recap of the usual aid provided to Outsiders. As well as some thoughts and details moving forward as a result of investigative efforts and details noted from prior log.

Kadaj | Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete | Brimstone
[ Having nighttime begin early was weird. It wasn't something that he was used to. There were probably places back in his own world that were like that, but he didn't truly know them as well. Others might. Like Cloud or Sephiroth. They would know more than he would
Having decent food was nice, even if they didn't know when their next meal would be. It was nice since he'd never had anything like all of this before. Egyptian food was new and interesting.
If anyone does join him he'll share the food and the company. Especially if they were waiting until sunlight. ]
[ Tomb Raider ]
[ Falling through a sandy floor was annoying. Especially when sand got everywhere. However, seeing the large temple has him curious on what was inside. Would they be able to find this kaiju?
He'd also noticed that sunlight was causing a weakness in him, not something he'd talk about. It's another reason why he stays away from any rays of sun that might slip through the cracks. Kadaj needed his energy and he wasn't going to allow the kaiju, or the damnable rift, to make him weak. He wasn't weak.
His sword is out and he's ready for whatever awaits. If there are traps nearby... well, he hopes they don't get caught in any of them. ]
[ Kaiju Attack ]
[ The weakness to sunlight was really trying to get to him, but he wouldn't let it. Not when they had a beast to fight. Cat-like eyes narrow and he can feel his numbs trying to go numb on him. Which is why he tries to stay focused. To keep himself in check, as it were.
His sword is pulled out as is the materia to summon Bahamut. If his sword won't help in this kaiju fight then the dragon will. ]
Stay alert, it's trying to get into our heads.
[ Or was it their hearts? ]
[ Wildcard ]
[ Want something else? Toss it at me and I'll follow. ]

Bakugō Katsuki 💥 Boku no Hero Academia 💥 Everlight
▶ 001. EGYPTIAN DINNER.
💥 ➊ DINNER. - Dig In.
[That's a hell of a surprise. Bakugo hadn't expected to be greeted with a damn feast splayed out when they arrived. Where the hell did these people get all the food? Of course he's not gonna abstain! What the hell do you think he is, a rude bastard?! ... Still, when you're used to cooking for yourself and dealing with ration substitutes, a sprawling array of dishes is kind of a shock in the middle of a ruined city. Seated along with the other Outsiders, he deftly loads up his plate before-]
A) Hey! Pass the shawarma! [Is he yelling at you? Yes.] NO! The ones that look like wraps, dammit!
B) Don't stuff yourself or you're gonna pass out in a food coma. [Which is exactly what they're trying to avoid. Though given the amount of food on his plate and the ferocity with which he's attacking it... do as I say, not as I do, huh.]
💥 ➋ DINNER. - Sun Rise
[Avoiding sleep after cramming down some of the best food he's had during his stay here was a monumental challenge. Even the cyber caffeine had its work cut out for it. But luckily Bakugo's kept himself well rested throughout the two weeks, albeit with the sleep rotation and safety in mind, so once he pushes past the trial hour, everything else kicks in. Fuck, he's gonna be awake for a damn week with all the shit he plied his system with. As the sunrise begins to break, Bakugo can be found sitting atop the pedestal for one of those grand pillars, one leg dangling, the other tucked ankle under opposite thigh, looking like an absolute thug. He's once more in full costume, with some killer additions moving around over his shoulders. Small explosions burst and pop in his left hand, while his right arm is once more bound up in a compression sleeve and locked to the side of his body in what appears to be a sort of pseudo-straitjacket with straps. Wanna come a chat with Mr. Grumpy?]
▶ 002. QUICK AS SAND.
💥 ➊ QUICKSAND. - Croc Roc
Watch it! [A hard shoulder rams into your side as Bakugo knocks the other Outsider away from a belched flame. Damn sand crocs already out en masse! He lands on his feet, protectively between his ally and the reptilian grouping, and slings his left arm forward. A mass of explosions erupt in front of him, as if the ground suddenly bloomed hell via underground landmines. Not quite landmines, but he definitely carpet bombs the entire area. One of those mounted guns abruptly swivels on its stalk and boomboomb! blasts two shots behind him, taking out the crocs coming from the rear.] You wanna get eaten, do it on your own time, dammit!
[Despite his aggressive attitude, he'll stay guarding you until you're back on your feet. And if you need more ammo, Bakugo'll pass you the shotgun and belt given to him. He has no need for it.]
💥 ➋ QUICKSAND. - Bad Memory Share
[Sand, sand, more sand, a pressure digging into his body and mind. Bakugo had initially attempted to blast himself free of the quicksand when it began pulling him, easily clearing the grip and intending to help others out. But when their captain stated what was probably a "DUH!" piece of obvious intel, he scowled, activates his plugsuit for breathing, and lets the sand swallow him. Even with the suit on, however, seeping tendrils of rift energy have already crawled through during the earlier trek above.
Outsiders who walk near Bakugo during the exploration underground may suddenly get sucked down into one of his harsher memories.
A) His smothering encounter with Sludge Villain
B) His emotional presence when All Might retired
C) His self-sacrifice to protect Midoriya during the first war
D) His haunting death at Shigaraki's hands the second war
Feel free to pick any of these and either leave a comment so I can write a starter or let your comment lead into it and I'll pick up from there! Obvious spoilers are obvious.]
▶ 003. TOMB RAIDER
💥 ➊ TOMB RAIDER. - Torch Light
[Bakugo hits the ground on his feet and "surfs" down the sloping sands like the badass he is. Breaks into a quick trot step at the end before coming to a stop in front of a ruined underground city. Holy shit. As ominous as it is impressive. Amid the darkness, he lifts his left arm and small explosions begin popping and sparking around his hand, luckily not causing more noise than some pathetic fireworks or sparkler crackles. It casts a warm orange glow around him, illuminating the area in light. If you wanna travel with him as your torch, go for it, but if you're gonna go off on your own...]
Give it here. [Bakugo "caps" his hand over the torch end and ignites it with a few seconds pressure against his glowing palm. There you go. Now scram, and don't get lost or die while you're at it.]
💥 ➋ TOMB RAIDER. - Trooby Baps
[So much for turquoise tanktops and brown hotpants! Bakugo instantly suspects trap when walking into the temple. Why the fuck would an ancient guardian temple NOT have protective mechanics? He already saw the damn torches light up by themselves out there. Points for the crocodiles swimming through the sand. They're not as threatening when you've spend two weeks EATING THEM!! Which you might hear Bakugo threaten to do if any get close to him.
A soft 'ka-clank' pierces the air and Bakugo glances up with a scowl stabbing into the corridor before him.] Stop setting off the fucking traps, dammit! [Was that you he yelled at? Maybe.] Get back! [Stones rend open, the ceiling births another giant boulder, and Bakugo braces himself with mounted guns primed and his left hand glowing.] DIE!! [Cover your ears because he swings forward and obliterates the hallway in an array of explosions. Scorching the walls, pulverizing the boulder, and leaving the floor a smoking, sizzling wasteland of slagged stone. Watch your step through the smoke; you don't wanna burn your feet...] Pay attention where you're walking or touching!
💥 ➌ TOMB RAIDER. - The Mummy
[Treasure? Yeah, he's heard of enough Egyptian fantasy lore to know you're not supposed to touch the stupid sparklies. These things almost always have some kind of curse on them. Case in point... fucking mummies. Bakugo doesn't seem at all fazed by them, rather he takes one look and snorts at it. Akin to seeing some little shit walking out trying to scare you with a real dumb Halloween costume. One of those mounted guns on his shoulders abruptly lifts up and "BWOOM!" snaps off a single powerful shot into the mummy's chest. Yeah, he doesn't eviscerate it; he blows the entire thing to pieces in a flaming burst.]
Piss off you toilet paper husk. [He doesn't have the time to deal with that shit. Only took one scream from earlier to make him start blasting them from afar. To any current allies nearby-] Move. And stop touching shit.
▶ 004. HEART OF THE TOMB.
💥 ➊ HEART. - Battle Cat
Bring it on you overgrown pussy cat! [Why the hell does this cat looking like it lost a fight with the toilet paper roll strike his mind as "cool" on first sight? WHO KNOWS!! He's gonna kill it regardless! Even if it's undead, he'll figure out a way to kill it again, as many times as it takes to put an end to its slumber slaughter! Bakugo's in his element once more, no longer tied to the sidelines by his war scars. Outsiders who're familiar with his battling before will notice he's still down one warm, focusing only on his left arm for explosions, flight, and other maneuvers, but those mounted guns on his shoulders are standing in for his recovering right.
BOOM! BOOmBOmbBOmBOOMBOOM!! A fiery pinball bouncing between explosions midair, Bakugo dodges the creatures tendrils and slides under clawed paw swipes, even managing to land on the back of its neck, brace his hand against the rear of its head, and BWOOM!! The entire skull's engulfed in smoke and light before Bakugo sails backwards out of the cloud, landing on his feet and skidding across temple grounds. He straights up with a snarl, wiping a cut off his cheek. Wanna join him in his next rush?]
💥 ➋ HEART. - Frozen Fear
[Sand trickles down his shoulders, a gust of wind blows dust against his boots, the Kabus screams in front of him as tendrils sweep towards his location, and somewhere further behind him, a mummy shambles towards his body. Yet despite all of that, Bakugo fails to move. Standing with his arms at his side, red eyes wide and staring into the void. One single locking with those slitted yellow orbs and everything blurred into a standstill. His shoulder-mounted guns continue their own automated assault, turning and blasting anything that gets close to Bakugo, but their ammunition isn't forever.
He remembers... he remembers the first time he faced All for One, heard his voice echoing inside his skullish helmet. Such a surge of dread and fear turning his heart to quivering ice. Muscles shouted at him to move, his instincts flared in pure "flight" with no glance to "fight", and yet his mind couldn't issue orders. Scared, scared, scared, he'll kill me, i'm going to die, it's too much, this is the end-
Someone needs to come knock the sense back into his head before one of those mummies takes a bite out of his throat or those tentacles grab him for a kitty treat.]
💥 ➌ HEART. - Bad Memory Share ~ Again
[Outsiders who act near Bakugo during the battle at any point may suddenly get sucked down into one of his harsher memories.
▶ 005. AFTERMATH
💥 ➊ AFTERMATH. - Temple Run
MOVE YOUR ASS!! [Dammit, this is the second time they've had to run away after a fucking kaiju's death-based revenge-boner booby trap! Despite his anger towards the ever-ordered errand boy, Bakugo does swing one of his costume's capsules through the sand and snatches up a sample on the way out, as well as hooking a few bandages around his wrist along the way. As he runs, he caps the thing, folds the bandages, and shoves both into one of his pants pockets. It's tempting to use his explosions to fly out of the temple, but he can't shake the feeling of potentially leaving someone behind. So he focuses on running with the rest, keeping near the rear to make sure everyone else has gotten out ahead or around him. If he sees someone trip or fall, Bakugo sweeps in and grabs them before heaving the person onto their feet and shoves them forward into another run, using his explosions to get to them if he has to. Aaaand... he'll also be swiping a big fat cargo-pants pocketful of treasure on the way out, with coins, gems, jewelry, and little figure in the mix. Grab bag. Feel free to call him out on it, but it doesn't slow him down in the slightest.]
💥 ➋ AFTERMATH. - Reward Rest
A) [It's strange to be welcomed back like a proper hero. No one glaring are them for being heralds of destruction, no sobbing faces over the destruction of their property. They were able to finally take the battle to the kaiju instead of waiting for it to attack them! Bakugo basks in the praise and adoration for a few minutes... and then ends up being his usual self and yelling at people to shut the fuck up when they keep fawning over him. SO ANNOYING!! Feel free to smack him upside the head and bitch him out for it.]
B) [Bakugo's staking out in the hotel common room for a little while. He's showered and cleaned, dressed in a simple pair of black skull-patterned t-shirt and black workout pants with slippers. Currently the blonde's sitting beside a small coffee table with a bowl of water to one side, and two washcloths, one to the side of the bowl and one in his hand. While he's turned in the capsule of sand and bloody bandages to LILITH (gross), Bakugo kept his big ol grab bag of treasure and is now washing each piece off in the water. Yeah yeah, tombs tend to be pretty, well, settled, but who the hell knows what was in there with that stupid mummy cat? He has some metal cleaner and soft soap, using them as he works to clean off a host of glittering pieces. Of the pile, these two gems look pretty damn nice, and this messy thing is weird, but he's most proud of one piece in particular. Yeah, Bakugo maaay have spotted a grouping during the initial exploration, then made sure to swing by that exact spot on the retreat. Look, he's getting something for his troubles. It's better than bringing home a fucking pet mummy.]
C) [He's never seen a bed look so inviting in his life. And he's crashing in it. For... 12 FUCKING HOURS of deep sleep. Really this is just a note for where Bakugo's going to be, but if you wanna meet him before he sleeps or when he wakes up, feel free to assume you have access to his room.]
[OOC: If you want to discuss any of these prompts or none of them work for you, send me a PM and we'll chat out a different idea together! I'm happy to write up individual starters if anyone wants one. Thanks! And yay for finally taking the fight to the kaiju this time! Bakugo's more satisfied with how this endeavor was done.]

Godzilla | Legendary Monsterverse | Everlight
▶004: Fall of the Titan (CW: Blood, serious internal injury, broken bones)
[ Every Kaiju Godzilla has been present to battle seems to be a creature that goes out of its way to tick the big guy off. Kabus is no exception, the fell creature's meddling with the Outsiders' heads combined with its clear cruelty in how it treats sentient beings has Godzilla spoiling for this fight. The fact that the disdainful thing is in the same height class as him makes him that much more eager to fight a battle on his terms.
It goes his way for awhile, he's gotten pretty used to battling alongside the mass of other Outsiders by now. He's able to slip in at the right moments to draw Kabus or the mummies attention with a quick smack of his tail or slash from his elbow spikes, then make use of his teleport chip to pull back in time to avoid the mental attacks from Kabus and let another Outsider take over. But finally Godzilla's luck runs out and his confidence becomes his undoing, it was only a matter of time.
At a point in the fighting he moves forward and grabs the enemy by the head, wrenching the feline's jaws open whilst the humming sound of his atomic breath starts to build up. Before the attack fires off Godzilla accidentally looks the beast in the eyes and its all down hill from there. His attack goes off but rather than going into the creature's core it hits Kabus inn the chest as Godzilla recoils away, causing the kaiju to yowl in pained anger. Godzilla doesn't really notice.
Primal fear the likes of which he hasn't felt since he was far, far younger goes through him. He feels helpless and he knows that all that awaits in the future is pain and death, not just his own either. He'll be made to watch each person he's grown to know suffer and die before the enemy sends him to his end. Everything that happens next is a blur.
The kaiju pounces on Godzilla and the two go rolling through the sand. Maddened survival instinct takes over as Goji thrashes and by some chance he gets his feet underneath the enemy, kicking it off himself and allowing him to get to his feet. This doesn't last. Those tendrils come forward and arrest Godzilla's movement, holding him place as the beast once more pounces, both paws and its full weight hitting Godzilla in the chest. He goes down with a roar of anger, swiping at his foe, the tendrils grasp his arm and slam it back at an unnatural angle. There's a crack, and a loud "eeoooonk!" from Godzilla.
It gets worse of course. Kabus proceeds to slam itself down several times over on Godzilla's chest, producing another cracking noise as something in the big guy's sternum gives way. The roar of pain he lets out is strangled down to a hiss, blood sputtering out past his maw that very much isn't the enemy's. One of his lungs is punctured.
The big guy's entire world is nothing but pain and anger at that point, both at the enemy for wounding him and himself for getting into the situation. He barely registers the goings on as Ereshkigal is sent to his aid, all he knows is the attacks have stopped. They've stopped and he's still alive... and pissed.
Almost predictably for anyone that knows him Godzilla struggles to his feet, staggering from the pain but managing to keep upright thanks to his tail. A crocodilian hiss is the only noise he can manage at this point, sending more blood dripping from his maw, and though his right arm dangles uselessly at his side he's far from harmless. Something a mummy finds out as Godzilla grabs it by the arm and bodily hurts it into a mass of other undead. The big guy proceeds to slam his tail on the ground defiantly.
He's um... not leaving the fight. He should really stop. Someone deal with this crazy gecko? ]
▶ 005: Aftermath
A: [ Whilst Godzilla very much should be taking it easy by this point his useless arm has been put into as good a sling as could be managed in the field but his chest is still a bundle of pain and his breathing comes in labored heaves, he's a mess in short. But he steadfastly refuses to let the grateful crowd see him as anything more than the proud King of Titans that he thinks of himself as, walking through the town with his head held high despite the fact that each movement has his eyes twitching in a way any that know him will recognize as pure discomfort. When the Outsiders eventually get to the hotel set aside for them the big guy proceeds to... flop down into a sandbank with a pained huff. That's probably fine. ]
B(Human mode): [ Eventually Godzilla's stubborn tail has been wrangled and he can be found relaxing in the common room of one of the hotel. Not only has he allowed his arm to be splinted properly, he's also taken to his human form to conserve energy and space at the same time, though his taste in t-shirt is questionable as always. There's not much that can be done for the broken sternum and punctured lung besides allowing a fellow Outsider to help along the healing process, but right now the big guy has other things to worry about. Hell, he's worrying about them so much that he's barely even eating the food that's with him, just poking at it absently with a fork.
His mind is on other things. Like the fact that he almost died, or how after interceding on his behalf Ereshkigal, his FRIEND, is nowhere to be found. This isn't like the last time when a whole group of Outsiders went missing, he can't even message her on the network, her name is there but it can't be interacted with. Something is wrong. LILITH is, as ever, clueless, and nobody has any idea what to do. All Goji knows for certain? It's probably Ratio's fault.
Anyone entering the common room will have Godzilla make a non-committal grunt of greeting, not even looking up to see who it is. He's really out of it, sorry about that. ]

Sampo Koski | Honkai Star Rail | Redemption
[This is real generous. A nice lovely meal before....well, they have to do their hard-won (no, not won, not even earned, basically forced to do) jobs to take down a nasty kaiju. Sampo hopes it won't be like the vampire times. That was bad. (He still has sleepless nights outside of this whole coffee kaiju insomnia time, but he won't be admitting that to anyone anytime soon).]
[If you're by your lonesome, maybe waiting for the sunrise, a certain blue-haired man will approach with a friendly demeanor.]
Waiting for the sun? Me too. [Without even an invitation, he's sitting next to you. A moment of silence, and then:] Let's play a game to pass the time and keep us awake. Word association! Have you heard of it? I say a word, and you say the first word that comes to mind. I'll start!
Monster.
[Maybe you should tell this chatterbox off...]
2. TOMB RAIDER (multiple parts)
a. everyone's favorite relic hunter
[Ruins? Places to scavenge? Treasures to be found (maybe? possibly?) Sampo Koski takes to this place like a duck to water. A shame he doesn't have all the tools to the trade for this, but he DOES have a job to do. Well. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to look around...]
Ahhh. This brings back memories of the Belobog tunnels! You could find all sorts of things down there!
[He can be heard exclaiming as he goes around with his torch, happy as a lark. However, if you happen to step in a certain area, exploring away - there's a gloved hand at your shoulder, yanking you back.]
WhoahwhoahWHOAH, friend! I wouldn't do that if I were you. Relic hunter's intuition!
[Oh. There's a trip wire here. Whoops.]
b. green green greed
[But unfortunately, for as savvy as Sampo is with his booby traps knowledge, he still isn't immune to a treasure here and there. He's already out here plucking out a brilliant red gem from an alcove in the wall, happy as can be:]
Now THAT'S a win!
[and]
[of course here comes a mummy staggering out of a sarcophagus, moaning and groaning. Sampo tenses up, glancing from it to the gem, before squeaking out:]
I didn't do that.
[Of course he didn't!]
3. NIGHTMARES
[Sampo is not someone to be knocked over easly, despite his easygoing foolish nature, but still, as much as he struggles to fight against the kaiju and its effects, he slips up. His green eyes meet the kaiju's, and then-]
[Everything disappears.]
[There is a black, black room.]
[In the middle of the room, lit by a single spotlight, is a strange object, whirring away as its handle grinds clockwise. It grinds and grinds and grinds, but nothing comes out. Coming closer, it seems the golden object has a line across it, box-like.]
[Open it? Or look for something else in this dark expanse?]
[OOC: Given Sampo is a Masked Fool and chaos is the name of the game, this section probably won't contain actual memories but more surreal/weird scenarios, like enacting out a sitcom or going on a strange adventure until both you and Sampo break out! Let me know if you want me to go ham, or have any specific ideas/things you want to do to spice it up!]
4. WILDCARD

okkotsu yuta | jujutsu kaisen | revelation
( Perhaps your character is simply passing by Yuta or catching a glimpse of either him or Rika drifting in his wake or possibly they fell asleep somewhere in his vicinity. Whatever the case, whenever, wherever, when his bad memories hit they will find themselves forced into his shoes for the duration of the memory. Feel free to have them separate from the forced perspective if you want them to interact with Yuta within the memory afterward or simply have it be a viewing experience. )
02 ▸ TOMB RAIDER
[ Navigating the tomb is a struggle between all the booby traps in place, the crocodiles, and the mummies. Fortunately, Yuta is gifted with speed and so dodging and aiding others to do so becomes his main priority. However, he only has two hands and he cannot be in two places at once. There is only so much he can do. So when there is someone who looks like they might not make it out of dodge of a trap or an assailant that he has no hopes of reaching in time, it's cause for panic.
Or rather, it would be if Yuta was alone. He never truly is.
There is a monstrous figure sticking out of an inky rift swooping in to abruptly grab hold of them and pull them out of harm's way. Something that might be quite alarming to said person, but around one wrist a band of blue fabric has been affixed that has REVELATION written on it; a clear indication of alignment. If that's missed in any resulting scare, there is always the teen in a plug suit that's immediately rushing over, katana in hand, looking frazzled yet relieved. ]
Nice catch, Rika!
[ Addressing her before worried eyes are turned on the rescuee who's promptly released from her grasp. ]
Are you alright?
03 ▸ AFTERMATH
[ In the immediate aftermath of the fight, Yuta's quick to go around offering healing to anyone who looks like they might be in need of it and also checking in on familiar faces, not caring for his own exhaustion much.
Not even when they finally make it to their luxurious lodgings. As nice as the beds are, trying to sleep is an exercise in futility that he doesn't bother with. Instead he eventually finds himself a cozy seat in the hotel's lounge in a tucked away corner where he proceeds to just... sit and stare out the window, completely zoning out. Anyone else up and about might find it takes a little effort to catch his attention if they're inclined to try, but company certainly won't be unwelcome. Much later into the night and he'll be found curled up the seat, seemingly asleep, yet only lightly dozing. ]

Donatello - Rise of the TMNT - Redemption
[While others may have taken a camel to the base at El Alamein, Donnie had passed that option up for just using his jetpack to travel. Which might not have been the best idea, since heat does rise. So he is a little worn out once they make it to the base at the ruins.
So it's during the meal that he is kind of zoned out. He knows some of the food on offer, shawarma and falafel, but he doesn't seem to interested in it? Or at least when anything ends up in front of him he examines it before scrunching up his snout and just passing on it. Which shouldn't surprise the few people who have gotten to know him, he has admitted to enjoying the ration bars. Someone talk this picky turtle into actually eating.]

[Someone shove this nerd under the sand, before he keeps saying something nerdy about the whole thing while sinking.]

[While the ruins have Donnie's interest, he's more interested in finding the kaiju than in any treasure or traps. So while he might be trying his best to avoid traps? He's no expert, which one would think a ninja would know how to avoid traps. But Donnie never claimed to be a good ninja.
But hey, once they find the kaiju? Donnie is getting right to it, calling up with his ninpo small rockets. Which he will be careful about how he fires them, so if anyone gets in his way?]
Move it! I can't keep these in one spot for too long!
5: Aftermath
[Getting out was... A thing, that Donnie doesn't care to linger on. He most certainly did what he could to help others escape of course.
But it's more important that once the Outsiders have gotten back to Alexandria? The hotels are a welcome sight, more than the gratitude of the locals, so Donnie is going to pick the first room he can and just collapse on the bed. He doesn't care if someone else wants this room. It's his now, as he is going to try to sleep... Also screw getting medical care, which he most likely needs, sleep now.]

The Killing Blow. ( cw: animal gore )
[ That latest burst of agility, dodging the hammer and the rifle's shots, are death throes of a beast in pain, poisoned by cursed blood. Muramasa watches the movement across the tomb with cold eyes, knowing that the creature will going to die today, but if someone doesn't step in and finish the job soon, the struggles will get worse. Something more terrible than blinding, or that roar that makes every bone in his skull rattle. Between the increasing mobs of undead and the kaiju's own desperation to survive and escape the inevitable, it might very well permanently harm one of the other Outsiders, unless they hurry up and stop it. They've already lost one of their number to the rift itself. Things can't stay like this, and he hates sloppy work, even when it isn't to his tastes. It may as well be him that does the fixing.
Even in the heat of battle, Muramasa's haori still hangs off his shoulder over his plugsuit, a smear of white in the shadows of the tomb. It makes him easily visible when he breaks rank to find an open space with room to move, easy prey. The beast, seeing a smaller unarmed enemy and taking the bait, skids into a turn on the wide, flat paving stones and reorients itself with a bound of massive, silent paws. It picks up speed, golden eyes set dead on him, presenting him with a surge of uncharacteristic terror and a single choice. Flight or fight. A moment has arrived in front of him with bloodied claws and terrible fangs: in those eyes he can see the thread of life keeps Kabus in this world. All he has to do is cut it.
But when he made this choice, Muramasa knew he had almost no reserves of energy left to fight with. Now fear overrules the logic of survival, kicking his instincts into high gear—his magical energy spikes, suddenly, in a blaze of heat as a simple, unadorned length of sharpened steel with a naked tang bearing his name flashes into being in his hand, forged directly in his now-burning core. He takes no time to move artfully, simply sweeping it overhead and driving down to bite deep into the kaiju's shoulder with enough force to cleave a boulder in half, all in the instant before the beast slams into him.
Ten tons of momentum collide with an unrelenting iron barrier. It makes the stone underfoot compress and crater with the force of the impact, cracks spiderwebbing across the ground, fine splinters of stone flying through the air. His haori slips and begins to pour down off his shoulders, a fluttering ghost of white silk and embroidered flowers caught up in the shockwave. But Muramasa's steel continues to follow its chosen path, severing everything that stands before it: tattered linen and fur, flesh and bone, nerves and veins, all the way down to that thread of life. It isn't a masterful display of swordsmanship—all he's doing is putting the beast out of its misery with brute force and a killing edge.
Tangled together by claws and steel, the beast stares down at him, his blade buried deep in the socket where its leg once meet its torso; Muramasa stares back as a monstrous heartbeat pours blood over his blade, his hands and arms, soaking him and the fallen haori on the ground. He can see that bright golden stare begin to tarnish before his very eyes, yet he still can't look away. Fear thunders through his veins, a firey adrenaline surge. In panic, Muramasa realizes that attacking like this was a risky move. He's made for killing gods, not monsters. That terrible mouth is close enough to take his head in one bite, the massive paw pressed against his chest still has deadly claws ready to rip into his body. He can only use what's left to make sure he kills it first, come hell or high water. The sword buries itself deeper into the body the kaiju, slipping past the plane of shoulder bone, and then deeper still into a gap in the cavernous rib cage.
He realizes, through the fog of panic, that he doesn't have enough mana left to repair the damage when it happens, assuming his core even remains intact after he used it for fuel so readily. (What is the extent of his durability? He's never tested it like this—) But an attack never comes. The beast shudders, going limp and heavy instead. Its weight presses down on him. Instead of biting down, sound escapes from that mouth of terrible teeth, something so much like human words, if only he could hear them properly or understand what is said. The tang of his sword is forced back against his chest; the blade's point pierces deeper into Kabus' chest, and the kaiju's weight intensifies even more. With one leg nearly severed entirely by Muramasa's sword, the other cannot bear its mass alone, to say nothing of the other injuries inflicted by the Outsiders.
Slowly and then all at once, the beast collapses right on top of him—just as his last, spare reserve of mana runs out. Not even his high strength rank can help at this point, exhausted as he is; ten tons of monster press down on him, the physical form disintegrating into grains of sand, filling the shallow crater until it overflows across the tomb floor and burying him underneath. ]
Ghost Retrieval Hot Potato!
[ -- Hey. the kaiju is dead, right? So where's the guy that killed him?Guess he exploded into dust with the monster! 💥 Let's go home. 💖
Just kidding. The best way to locate Muramasa is of course, finding the warmest, bloodiest part of the sand pile that used to be a kaiju, and start digging. Dig, and you can find the Servant, the bloodied haori, and the sword that did the deed (still radiating heat in the sand) all before hitting rock. His plugsuit is covered in dark, sticky blood, which has a strangely tacky quality to it: a side effect of being cooked by the heat of his freshly forged blade as he used it to deliver the final blow. Muramasa himself is largely unresponsive, but still breathing and alive—more or less. To those with the awareness, he has a weirdly patchy magical signature, in sharp contrast to the explosive spike in power that immediately preceded his killing blow.
Also he's very hot to the touch, like a... like a hot coal pulled from the fire, or a hot potato. It might be uncomfortable to hold him for too long. Pass him along, please, or show everyone else what a freak you are with a tolerance for pain. Even secondhand and diluted, the poison from Choso's blood in it has bad vibes, and will need nullified or removed, lest it make the hot potato process even harder (and is potentially a risk to the guy covered in it as well).
The goal: get him back to Rin (via Cagalli), eventually. She wants a pet ghost? Well, she has to take responsibility.
(ooc note: I won't be tagging hot potato stuff with Muramasa unless its very funny, so feel free to just... use him as a prop, weekend at peepaw's style!) ]
