βΆ 001. SEAS THE DAY.
On the morning of the 1st, sirens will blare, forcing every Outsider and Neo Tokyo civilian awake. While it hasn't been activated for a while, every citizen within the city knows this alarm all too well - it wails through the city whenever a Kaiju has been detected, ordering everyone to return to their homes immediately and stay there until they receive further information. Outsiders gazing at Neo Tokyo will see the armored city in its full technological splendour for the first time today. Once the civilians have returned to their homes, machinery within the buildings will work like clockwork, sinking each and every LILITH-augmented building beneath the ground. Just in time, too, because the waves are starting to roar again, crashing beyond the shore and flooding the city once more. Observant Outsiders may note that not every building has been modified. The older ones remain standing, vulnerable to the impending flood. Does anyone live in those buildings? The answer is yes, but that's not a priority at the moment.
Every Outsider will receive a summon, ordering them to prepare for battle. The Kaiju has been identified and located. It's show time.

The goal is to attract these Kaiju towards the boats and then attacking.
The ships may look like they're outfitted for a fancy yacht party. In fact, some exploring down below deck in the lounging room, one may find caviar on fancy ritz, oyster tower, little finger sandwiches with the crusts cut off and bougie smelly cheese that nobody in LILITH's pay grade can identify. On another table, there is fancy ramen spoons filled with microgreens, crystal jelly vinegarette, and a thin slice of parmesan cheese. Some further looking may find some fine aged wine, but you're not here to drink and party, you're here to fight a Kaiju! Right? Right.
Despite the fact everything about these yachts just look like... fancy yachts... they are actual warships that are mounted with naval artillery such as swivel guns, missiles and torpedos. Spears, harpoon guns and fishing nets can also be found and used if an Outsider is more comfortable getting extremely close to the monsters. There's no time for a proper seafaring course, so Outsiders will be given a quick run down on how the controls work, and be sent on their way. They will also be given a special jewel-like implant that attaches to the skin, right along the forehead, and told to wear it if they need to go into the water. "Don't worry about it," the LILITH crew says. "But it'll be one hell of a ride if you use it."
Alongside the crew, Seok Dang seems to be also assisting (?) though he's gotten a hold of the reception food down below. Did he smell like fine wine? Possibly. But that's definitely a fancy, half eaten cracker in his hand. He's also got on a bright, neon life preserver. Maybe someone doesn't know how to swim.

For now, make your way to the bay where your transport will be waiting. Be prepared for anything, but mostly, be prepared to swim."

βΆ 002. WHALE WATCHING.
Minutes into their ship's course, the boats will rock violently, as if those already violent waves have somehow come alive. There is something in the water! The mission brief would have been shared with them sometime during their trip, but maybe Outsiders want to pull up on their implant the image and debrief shared once again now that there is some action. The orca-like Kaiju trying to reach the shores of Neo Tokyo is called Shachimon, and she's been the cause of the violent waves and flooding we've seen for the past few weeks. Alongside of her and are her children orca who love to mimic everything their mother does. The biggest one, the matriarch of the pod, is over 60 meters in length - large enough to swallow a boat whole. The younger ones are smaller but just as ferocious, spanning from the size of a car to the size of a bus. The youngsters are a size small enough that they can leap out of the water, sometimes crashing down onto people and ships. Beware!

Once they get their hands on humans or Outsiders, they pull them into the water, tearing them limb from limb to feed. Their control over the waves are no joke, either. β β β MONSTER DEBRIEF SHEETAs a note, Outsiders who wish to remain on land and help civilians there may do so. There are waves flooding the city, and some of the smaller, quicker Shachimon will have made it to shore. They will need to be taken care of before they can terrorise the city.
NAME: Shachimon
HEIGHT: Younger whales are 4 - 18 metres. The matriarch is 60 meters in length.
WEIGHT: 1500kg - 5000kg
CLASS: Highly dangerous.
LOCATION: Large bodies of water
ABILITIES: Use of sonar to detect any water movement. Fast swimmer. Very sturdy body thanks to all that whale blubber. High intelligence - commonly works together as a pod to take down prey. Capable of creating tsunamis that overturn boats. The largest Shachimon can sink a city if not stopped.
WEAKNESS: Electricity (since it will be inside water), dissection, spearing its eyes or blowhole. Loud vibrations within the water can stun or confuse it.
EXTRA NOTES: Dislikes and will attempt to overturn civilian yachts. Carnivorous, eating marine life and human flesh. Sadistic personality, may play with their food prior to eating.

β Protection of nearby fishermen's boats and civilians within those boats.
β Teamwork to destroy the matriach Shachimon.

βΆ 003. OCEAN GEMS.
Shachimon are most deadly in the water and their go-to strategy is to pull others into their turf, where they have the advantage. That's where those jewel-like implants come in. These implants, called OCEAN GEMS, when attached to the skin, temporarily modify the body. Once activated, nanobots will invade the bloodstream and alter the user's lungs, giving them a set of breathable gills. Their legs will also be altered, giving them fins and the tail of a fish. This is a recent invention by LILITH ever since the first Shachimon was spotted a few years ago, and the technology is still experimental. This means that the transformation process will be significantly uncomfortable, feeling a bit like being asphyxiated and having your legs sewn together at the same time. Deactivating the gem and turning back feels just as uncomfortable, and being experimental technology, it can take a while before the user can successfully revert back. Those who want to fight in the water and lack any weapons or abilities that can be used can request Seok Dang for a weapon. There's a limited supply, but they will be given a special trident. Directly driving the spear into one of the kaiju will electrocute it, giving a higher chance for higher damage. These tridents will be handed out to those who want to use their Ocean Gem and ask.
It's up to Outsiders whether they want to use this new technology or not. Being able to fight the monsters on their own terrain is certainly an advantage, so LILITH would highly encourage it.

βΆ 004. MEDICAL BAY.
Healers and those with medical experience will be placed on the warship with a red flag on it. Dr. Spim & Alex will also be present on this ship to assist any major injuries to both LILITH and civilian fisherman alike. This ship is bigger than the others, and while stocked up with the same artillery, it is also stocked with beds and medical supplies. This will be the Outsider's naval medical bay during the siege on the Shachimon and all injured Outsiders or civilians will need to be transported there. This ship will also need to be protected heavily, because once the Shachimon catch on that all the injured, vulnerable prey are being transported to the larger ship, they will start to target that ship in particular. Characters that need immediate medical help should be transported to this ship via a dataportal. Each yacht has a dataportal that can teleport anyone instantly to the medical ship. The dataportals are also located down below deck to prevent them from getting damaged.
βΆ 005. THE CALM AFTER THE STORM.
It's a bloody, soggy and gruesome battle and the seas' waves begin to calm down, the sea filled with kaiju carcasses. LILITH's clean up crew is working hastily to collect these corpses, but with the Outsiders' occupied and recovering from their fresh battle, help is limited. Search and rescue scavenges the sea to find any civilians who didn't make it or may need medical help. Meanwhile, the valiant teamwork and effort has paid off. After many hits from many different weapons, artillery, natural abilities, etc. the matriarch kaiju has been downed and sank to the bottom of the ocean floor. LILITH's team will work to retrieve the massive carcass, though it will take awhile. Those who put in notable effort will receive praise and a little extra payout. Outsiders will see an instant transfer of funds to their account: 340,000,000 KRYPTOS. This is roughly about 2500 USD.
The intense battle will have lasted several days and Outsiders are free to go from land to sea as little or as often as they like. It is all over, though, and Outsiders will be called to return to the MAIN BASE for rest and recovery. LILITH will also be searching for the rift where the kaiju came from while Outsiders recover. A message from an unknown voice will pop up an hour or so after all Outsiders have returned to the MAIN BASE. Outsiders may use this time to socialize in a commons area, wash up in the showers, get a meal in the cafeteria or rest.

βΆ 006. AFTERWORD.
Welcome to our first Kaiju log! All prompts are highly encouraged but OOCly optional. ICly, characters can choose to fight in the ocean, on the ships or stay behind on land and protect the city. At the end of the siege, characters who accepted an Ocean Gem will be asked to return it. It's experimental technology, so LILITH will need to do more tweaking before they can properly release it. Outsiders who use the gem may have whatever fish tail they like, as long as it is a sea creature.
Feel free to NPC your characters' fights with the smaller kaijus. The main fight with the Shachimon matriarch will be determined via a HP-based system (See below).

Is it a good smell or a bad smell? [Yuwon, please she knows she is a fish right now but come on.... She nudges him to remind him that they are kind of floating around in the water like this, but at least the kaiju are ignoring them for now.
She does... smell herself and even smells Yuwon back because we are really at this point.]
I don't smell much besides the ocean and all of that- Anyways, we should get on a boat before we become a snack for these whales or something.

he feels a bit of heat rising to his face which was extremely uncharacteristic for him, and so it's impossible for him to ignore. still, he takes in a deep breath, before grabbing onto the ladder leading up to one of the yachts nearest to them.
he takes a deep breath, before reaching his arm out to her. he figures it'd be hard to just hop on the deck without the right amount of momentum, after all. ] I'll help you. But, you can be honest. I mostly just smell like blood and fish guts.

[She takes the ocean gem off of herself and stares at her legs, expecting them to go back right away only... Nope, she is still a mermaid for now after waiting a few minutes.]

he knows she didn't exactly mean it to me towards him, and he appreciates her going along with his words, even if he wasn't exactly the sparkling gem of spoken conversation. thankfully, it's also enough to at least keep his thoughts on her words vs. whaterver... this was.
when she removes her gem, he's ready for her to follow right behind him, and so he almost but all begins to step forward to try and spare himself some of the residual awkwardness from his prior behavior— yet, then...
her legs don't revert back. he doesn't seem to put much thought into leaning downward. he leans down on a knee as he scoops her up in his amrs; her fin dangling as he tries to bring her close enough to balance her comfortably.

He really does pick her up and... it's nice? It's not something she really experiences since she's larger than most people around her. She knows it's temporary, but she gives her a small sense of safety despite that she is struggling right now and doing her best to keep her sanity in check. as soon as he catches himself, he clears his throat. his grip tightening slightly as he tries to remain in control of his mind. was this a normal side effect of the sea gem? considering hers appears to be the apparently lack of returning to normal— ... was this possible? unlike home, status ailments weren't made as clear to him and the thought was horribly inconvenient. he almost forgot how it was to simply analyze your own body.

Being so close to his chest, she can feel his heart beating. She could tease him on being nervous for holding such a pretty lady in his arms, but then he says that he could be under a certain effect. That alone can be concerning, especially when you are not sure what the problem is.]
That's good if it doesn't feel like poison. If you start to get worse, I'll try my best to drag your body to the medics. [She looks at him as she moves a hand to pat his chest a few times, a little thing that could help make him relax even when he's feeling weird.] Maybe your body is sensitive to mermaids and other fish monsters. Could be something like an allergy or whatever.
[Throwing ideas out in the air, a small yet real smile creeps up on her lips. It's a given that she will try to force up a smile even in the worst situations, but maybe it's because that she can be comfortable in Yuwon's presence.]

in a way, it's the action of simply walking that's keeping him sort of rooted. he clenches his jaw without realizing it and he only releases once she mentions his body being sensitive. ... sensitive to mermaids and other fish monsters actually made a lot of sense, but at the same time: ] An allergy? [ it's the last thing he says before he leans in and presses his lips against hers.

[So she really got no idea what he is going through exactly, but saying random shit is usually a good starting point. If she was going through the same ailment as him, it might give her a better idea and they can figure it out together in shared suffering.

Finally, they are below deck and she can get some rest, hopefully her legs will return back to normal as soon as possible. Rodya does notice that Yuwon is kind of lingering around. She lets him tuck her hair behind her ear, letting out a small laugh.]

[And then he takes her lips into his, cutting off the rest of her words. Her body did jump a little bit because she didn't expect it, her arms reaching out to grab Yuwon's head as they kiss before she pulls back a little bit. It's not bad, but it did stir something in her heart. The buried yearning, the distraction of something sweet to help fight the cold in her heart.
It's a short kiss, but there's an amused smile on her lips once Yuwon gets a look at her. A real one this time.]

[ he says quietly, as he places a hand on her side, where her skin starts to meet where the shark portion of her body begins. his hand is careful, before he moves it upwards to her back. but, it's here he stops himself. he pulls his hands away, less awkward, and more purposeful. as if he were exerting real effort to do so. he breaths in sharply, before he looks back at her; locking eyes ]
Touching me like that... [ he doesn't finish his sentence. instead he tears his gaze away. he holds his breath, only exhaling when he feels better control over himself. ] Don't keep any of this mind. [ yuwon was mostly impervious to shame, but whatever he felt currently was probably some hint of that. so he does the only thing he can do, and holds a hand out to try and cover her eyes. his hand mostly hovers right over them, attempting to prevent her from looking at him directly. almost as if he genuinely believed that it would somehow prevent her from committing any of this to memory.
in actuality, it's the only thing he feels he can do to retain a semblance of control over the situation. ]

[The kiss, that is. The way he is reacting from her touches, those small signs while she feels his touch in return. His hand on her waist, moving upward to her back. It's been a long time since she was last touched like that, so her body does have small tensions out of surprise, but she isn't pushing away. It feels nice, even when her body has morphed into a half-fish state. Her blue eyes are locked with him until Yuwon moves a hand to create a barrier between them.]
Easy, easy- [She quietly consoles him, pulling one hand away from him while the other strokes down his cheek, moving down his neck and chest. Touching him more might Not Help, but she is going to try to keep him calm.] Take some deep breaths. It might get worse if you fight it.
[She is still holding back saying a comment that he might be aroused or anything similiar because she doesn't want to freak him out. She turns her head so she can shift her body so she is sitting back up on the couch and Yuwon can have some room to sit down.]
Take a seat, move my tail out of the way if you gotta- [Even when she's a tall lady in general, her shark tail is longer than other sharks thanks to what type of shark it is.] You can't go back out there while acting like that otherwise you would be an easy target.

perhaps, it's because she's displayed a sense of selflessness before, he can't help feeling that this could have easily been another extension of that. somehow, kindness was the thing he was least accustomed to. ] If I don't fight it, we'll be in trouble. [ he says as if to warn her (again).
though, for now he does try to comply with what she says.
he does move her tail slightly and gingerly; as if taking his time with the feel of it against his palms. but even just touching it just seems to intensify his desires and so the best thing he can do is sit at the very edge - almost as if he were ready to jump up and leave any second. he stares back at his hands momentarily, before looking back at her. ]
It might just be you that makes me feel this way. [ if she remembers, he did mention something about her scent, and even now, the proximity of her body only seems to solidify that as being some sort of cause. though, he can't be entirely sure.
but, he seems to be saying this as if to ask her again if he should really be here... ]

She opens her mouth before closing it again, her brow furrowed as he says the first sentence. The second one does make her think about it. He did mention about her scent and maybe she is causing more trouble without realizing it. Something about having a shark tail is giving off those reactions to him, no matter if she has control over it or not. It's kind of frustrating.]

he couldn't always see other emotions with the same clarity. kind of like how he wonders how some of the people in his life have managed to stick around him. opposite to that, he doesn't owe anything to anyone here. ... or so he thought.
when she speaks, he unknowingly gets a hint of her suppressing herself, and he doesn't really like it. he's said harsh and callous words in the past, got his hands dirtier than he can turn back from, and yet he asks the words he's never really asked before: ] Is that what you want?
[ he's never really been the kind of person to put the ball in someone's court without there being an actual reason. but, maybe the reason is that he's not necessarily in his right mind right now, and maybe it was something else entirely. even he seems kind of surprised by his own words.
honestly, he's exhausted from even working through this weird feeling from the ocean gem. so instead of really waiting for her response like he intended, he just sort of silently leans forward, placing his head on her shoulder. ]

That's certainly a question. One that is so simple that it's actually complicated. She doesn't flinch as Yuwon leans forward to rest his head against her shoulder, but she does sigh softly before leaning her head against his.]
I can't get everything I want... That is one bitch of a life lesson I still struggle to accept, but it doesn't stop me from trying.

sure, they had kaiju to battle, but it was different type of urgency than he was accustomed to feeling.
... and in light of "slowing down," he can see she's clearly holding back. there was a practiced coldness to her, as if she were so used to putting on this same front. it's so natural that he could even mistake it for being the truth, but maybe because he could kind of relate that it felt all that more clear to him. he has to wonder if she also sees him in a similar light. he doesn't really understand it, but maybe it's in these thoughts he normally never has...
he stays silent for a long time until he speaks. ] You really should push me away. [ he lifts his head to look at her, and instead of acting on the impulse to kiss her, he reaches a hand and places it on her head, as if comforting her like she had to him earlier. ]

She opens her eyes once she felt something. The hand on her head isn't too unfamiliar, but it's still an action that puts a smile on her face. It reminds her when she was a child and her parents pat her head for several reasons. Sometimes it's for comfort, other times it's for praise. For having a hell of a time growing up, it reminds her that there were a few good blessings in the mess.]

while he was already exerting an effort, it was clear sign to him that there was always room for improvement. he steels himself all the more, breathing in tight, as he closes his eyes. almost as if savoring the last bit of warmth between them. his hand that was on her head moves to touch the back of her neck, as he thumbs trail over her cheek.
