( open; ) summer episode part 2?
WHO: Any Outsider is more than welcome!
WHAT: Dating shows... I was bullied.
WHERE: Between Okinawa & Neo Tokyo.
WHEN: Throughout the remainder of July (listen, it's a production)!
WARNINGS: Partial nudity, alcohol, potential suggestive topics, and will update 'em as I see 'em!
Throughout the city of Neo Tokyo and even Okinawa, there will be advertisements posted by the hundreds (and spam mail to your oculars by an equal number), desiring candidates for a show. While the aftermath of vegas and other bleak instances might have led way for people practicing some semblance of moderation— opposite to that, the people also need their entertainment, don't they?
Fortunately, there will be an influx of dating shows looking for people to appear. They are offering a fairly decent amount of money and are even offering luxury experiences for free for participants. In this economy and food shortage??? Okay, the food may be lacking, but they do make up for it in various activities they have planned, where people can kick back, relax, and romance?
While there will be any number of shows looking for interested parties, these are the main shows/premises:
* It can be assumed any of this is just open to general CR you want to spend time with, too. This is just supposed to be a silly log for chances for characters to get to know one another! Characters are more than welcome to assume they stumble upon this by accident, think it's just a basic job and can't leave, film or unfilmed (minus the commentary prompt), and whatever else! Feel free to tag freely, threadjack, etc!

Okay, the food may be lacking, but they do make up for it in various activities they have planned, where people can kick back, relax, and romance?
While there will be any number of shows looking for interested parties, these are the main shows/premises:
SPEED DATING
As the label suggests. People will be expected to sit down and switch through several partners. In their hands will be a card labeling who they encounter and a place to leave a check mark. They will also be given a list of questions that can be answered.
PARTNER SWAP
People can be on a show and swap partners. This doesn't necessarily need to be romantic, either. Have a friend you want to show up with, cool. The only rules are that the pairs who enter together cannot stay together during the duration of the show.
SINGLES INFERNO
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be trapped on a deserted island with other hot singles? Well, now you no longer have to wonder. They will need to cook and fend for themselves here with minimal activities or distraction— but, isn't that the point? All you need to focus on is each other! (* They will be ferried to an outer island by Okinawa). While on the island, which they label as inferno, it's also a rule that one cannot speak about their age, occupation, or any such personal details. All of this will be reserved for "paradise." To go to paradise, two individuals will need to pick one another, and if they do — they are able to go on to completed various luxury experiences together.
For those who would rather find paradise in inferno together, you can presume there are tents that act as shared dormitory quarters where contestants will stay together.
DATE ME
People are free to use this for just general dates. Maybe, you just want to finesse the system and enjoy a fun all-expense-paid for date in which you get to eat like relative kings and enjoy various experiences. Feel free to use anything in the setting to your desire.
SKINSHIP STARTER
... a show where you get paid the more skinship you do. Don't do anything you wouldn't do in a Wendy's though. (That's not how the saying actually goes).
COMMENTARY PANEL
Every good dating show needs those who simply sit and commentate, right?
* It can be assumed any of this is just open to general CR you want to spend time with, too. This is just supposed to be a silly log for chances for characters to get to know one another! Characters are more than welcome to assume they stumble upon this by accident, think it's just a basic job and can't leave, film or unfilmed (minus the commentary prompt), and whatever else! Feel free to tag freely, threadjack, etc!

[ Usually that's the difference between life and death. ]
And it's not like I haven't been stabbed before. [ By worse than a pocket knife, even. ] Either way, you didn't really strike me as the type to end up here in the first place.
no subject
[ Sort of shuffled along by others. Silence was taken as "okay". Etc.
It isn't a bad thing though, she says, and they know that. The knife still goes away, finally. ]
You?
no subject
[ Something else to add to the list of regrets, honestly. ]
This sort of thing isn't really my idea of a good time. [ Because Gebura has the romantic heart of a washing machine. ]
no subject
[ Siffrin likes romance, but this...
... is different. ]
... I can offer a reprieve. I don't think anyone will bother us if we're together.
[ Clearly taken with one another in the throes of love, ]
no subject
You'll miss out on your chances like that, you know. [ The chances they're clearly here for. Doesn't he just look like someone who wants to score (no). ]
no subject
[ Absolutely someone who wants to score. Definitely. They're both here looking for the loves of their lives. ]
Should I say hi before I approach you next time?
no subject
[ She just needs the recognition. The knowledge that someone isn't trying to attack.]
no subject
[ (You're the same way, after all.) ]
... There's food a little way back.
[ Sorry peanut gallery. This is about as much asking out as it's getting. ]
no subject
Let's go,then. Might as well make something out of this while we're stuck here.
[ Romance has never been more alive. ]
no subject
Naturally, there is the instruction through implant to get cozy and learn about each other with questions (for views! what's better than that height difference, people!), but Siffrin is content to hop into one of the seats and take a mango to cut into with their knife and hand half off to Gebura.
... Wow. This thing is coming in useful already, splitting fruit with another person. (Romance...!)
Hope no one was expecting conversation. ]
no subject
Finally, as she finishes peeling her mango half, Gebura looks out over the beach. ]
Better than the one I showed you?
no subject
[ This is... fine. It's pretty. But as uneasy as the other one had made them, this one isn't quite right either. He cuts off a small cube of the bright fruit and eats it. ]
It reminds me of what everyone else doesn't remember.
no subject
[ Well, that was one word for it, she supposes, biting into the mango (juice goes everywhere). The water had definitely been dark. ]
Why don't they remember it?
no subject
[ ... A slower, contemplative cut of the mango this time. Why don't they? A good question, one he's seeking the answer to now as well. ]
I don't know. They just don't. I don't remember a lot either. Just like... we've forgotten colors, too. Your world having it as a, um. Symbol thingy. Title. Is pretty unusual. The sky is bright, the ground is dark. Your hair isn't quite dark, but it isn't completely bright either. Mine is.
[ White, black ends. ]
no subject
... Though I'm pretty sure there's a District where there's a price on colors so you can tell who the rich people are immediately.
[ So forgetting colors means you can't see them anymore? Or does he just not have the words to describe them? ]
You wouldn't be able to tell the colors of my eyes, huh?
no subject
All of that, but the price one especially. He shakes his head. ]
One is brighter than the other. [ Like theirs would probably be, if they showed it. Blindness and all. ] It's pretty, but I couldn't tell you what they're supposed to be. Colorwise.
[ ... ]
What do you look like? To you.
no subject
If I describe it in colors, will you understand that?
[ Like. What does "red" even mean to them? And maybe it sounds condescending, to ask it like that, but she'd like to get a better understanding of how he sees the world; he'd already willingly explained it. ]
no subject
[ A hand to raise the mango, for example. Its unseen macaw coloring, orange like a sunset within. All things he doesn't know how to see, and she can. ]
There's old stories about the sky being... Bloo. And trees being... Grin. Maybe if I learn enough, I'll start to remember how to see them.
[ (You know you won't.
It doesn't work like that.
But still, isn't it nice to try?) ]
no subject
This is red. About the same color as it is when people bleed. In the sun like this, it's only slightly lighter.
[ Next, she indicates the scarred eye. ]
You could call it grey or silver. Somewhere between what you'd call bright and lightless. And the other one is gold... like a darker yellow. Both of my eyes used to be that color.
no subject
"Silver" and "gold".
(You wonder what colors yours are.) ]
So one is the same as my coin, and the other is the color of flower middles.
[ The round part. With the sneezy powder. ]
They sound very pretty.
[ She literally compared one to blood?
Anyway. It is as it is, nothing else by it. ]
no subject
She looks at him then, also not touching. ]
... Your hair is white; you've got black tips. Your skin is a little darker than mine, like a light brown. And your eye...
[ She points out towards the ocean. ]
Further out on the horizon. It's a dark, deep blue, like that shade. You'd see it going deeper underwater, too.
no subject
Then, his eye. They follow her point to the ocean, the lightness of it fading to its opposite in spectrum as the water deepens.
(It's a lovely shade. You've always thought so, and faintly, faintly you remember...) ]
I think my parents used to say that too. About the shade.
[ (But you don't remember. It's hazy as ever, and you're careful not to grasp for it. Not to scare its fleeting existence.
Still, she didn't have to. You throat tightens just a bit. You reach for your hat, again, always, and it isn't there; you try to hide your face because the embarrassed warmth creeping up it.) ]
... Thanks.
[ Very quietly, watching the horizon. (Like that. Like that.) ]
no subject
It was just an observation. You don't need to thank me.
no subject
[ And Siffrin wanted to; it means a lot to them. He wipes at his eye a little, waiting for his heart to stop its hurting, and smiles cheekily at Gebura. ]
Will you take nice?
no subject
Why would I take nice after saying I wasn't kind?
